I don't get it blackbeard seems so nice...but...why oh why did he do that to act and whitebeard? was it because he took what he said about dreams to the extreme?
@MrTheirongamer yeah he was simply following his dream and after all he is a pirate and like shanks said himself there's no such thing as being fair when you're a pirate. teach is still the same person just going to the extreme to achieve his goal as fast as possible. he needs to be the strongest so he took the strongests abilities and got a name for himself. though i wish he could have been more honorable about that like atleast beating whitebeard by himself in that 1 on 1 fight.

Black beard isn't a dick guys >.< first he is a legitime pirate, the true version of one. And he will do anything to do what conquest his dream, and just a curiosity: he is the favorite pirate for Oda.
This is why one piece is amazing. The unexpected plot twists and constant rencounters with characters that thought werent important becomes one of the most important characters in the storyline. i find this to be amazing.

It's just that he is willing to use ANY methods to reach his dream while Luffy won't do anything dishonorable. Blackbeard may be a coward (from his fight with Whitebeard) but he really believes living your dreams out to the fullest. He's a classic foil for Luffy. His beliefs and end goals are the closest to Luffy's of anyone's while his methods are the polar opposite.

They both eat like total pigs, but Blackbeard loves the pie that Luffy despises and Luffy loves the juice that Blackbeard despises. There's SO much depth to this scene as Oda is not only comparing and contrasting Luffy and Blackbeard, but I believe he is comparing the issues in the story to real life events. I'll elaborate if I'm not boring you.

Blackbeard doesn't care who he has to kill or what atrocities he has to do in order to get closer to his dream, he's going to do everything he can to get himself closer. That's the kind of person he is.

I don't think he's a dick but i still hate him for all the things that happned to ace :(
