Fortunately, @ChristheAussie, I was taught in a Southern school from a history book written in the Southern perspective, and taught by my Southern family, that the War Against Northern Oppression (aka our Civil War) had nothing to do with slavery, but with states' rights! Have you ever actually been to the north? I live in Illinois, and it's completely different from a culture you'd find in lets say New York. Both North and South generalize every state within to have the same views etc. I am incredibly patriotic toward my country, but not toward it's idiotic leaders, but in respect and honor for ALL Americans. For those who oppose the idea of a new nation, what course of action would you take to change the way our current government conducts its policies? Voting for new candidates does not solve anything. That has been proven consistently. What will it take to regain control over our government? The answer is simple; there is nothing we can do except force change by either violence or separation under peaceful terms.

As a plan, would it make sense for two or three states to gain Independence first? Would it make more sense to prove as an example, of what a new nation can do for its citizens? If the South succeeds in gaining independence, how will a transition take place? Is there a plan? I am totally against the government as it now stands. They do not know how to run a country with a moral compass. But, where would the New Nation's moral compass point? Not only outward, but also inward. That is what will make all the difference.
