I really would not wish the pain of a kidney stone on my worst enemy. I'm 20 years old and I had my first kidney stone yesterday. I have never felt pain like it, and I never want to experience it again, however now that I've had one, it's almost certain I'll develop another one. I'm currently on medication to help the pain whilst it passes... not sure if it's reached the bladder of it's still in the ureta, however I'm not in as much pain as last night. Hopefully i should pass it soon!
Unbearable pain. Had mine for two weeks. Wouldn't wish it on anyone. Pain shifting all round my right abdomen and flank. Can't get comfortable. Pain does subside but returns. Lots of lemon juice and water and hope its small enough to pass naturally. I feel your pain.
i have 5 ks 2 on the right kidney 3 on the left I had my first procedure of ESWL 8/10 on one of the stones on the right kidney the second stone came down 2wks after and I had the second procedure of ESWL today to help with the stones on the left kidney wish me luck. I know what pain is.

I have to be near death to allow someone to get me to a Dr.s office let alone an emergency room! It was I who called an ambulance to come get my sorry ass. That's how painful it was for me. Kidney stones are no joke! LoL
i have never had this but can i ask, exactly how does the pain start? I mean how do you suddenly go from feeling fine then going OMFG IM GOING TO DIE in an instant? Is that how it works? or is it a very very slow gradual build up of pain? Even then I am not sure how ppl are so late into going to the hospital if they feel a bit of pain. How would they wait until it is excruciating b4 doing something about it?
@jualkyn I can tell you how mine started. My kidney stone pain, at first, started with a lower back pain that gradually became worse. Then, my lower abdomen started to become sore. Then, it was kind of a gradual build up of pain for that, until it gets so bad you're in tears (like I was) and having to go to the ER. I had a 9mm stone lodged in my urether, they had to go in surgically and use a laser to break up/remove pieces. Had a stent left in for about a week, then had that removed.
@jualkyn And I am actually having lithotripsy done this afternoon (as we speak) to break up the smaller ones still located in my left kidney. The pain you get is when the stone moves. Never felt my large one drop or anything. Also, healing from surgery is a bit uncomfortable, and the main thing was allowing your urether to heal, cause you will get blood in your urine. Even from lithotripsy. I hope that answers your questions. I'm hoping after all this, I won't have problems again.

If you have one, immediately drink a mixture of 1 oz olive oil and 1 oz lemon juice followed by a glass of water.
And to finally dissolve it, take 4 grams of chewable or powdered vitamin C every waking hour. The vit C is a powerful acid that will help melt it like snow in the sun. To prevent future KS, daily 4-6 grams of that same cheap vitamin C split in three doses (breakfast, lunch, dinner).
Two years ago I had a 14mm stone stuck with a bunch of little ones behind it. They went in just like this video and removed it. Now two years later I have about 20 stones. Biggest one is 7mm. On the 5th of August I'm going in for a Lithotripsy procedure where they are going to zap them with US waves. I'll report back how well this goes.
I just had my kidney stone removal surgery last july 13, 2011 here in singapore. The size of the stone was 2.6 cm plus multiple stones beside it. The procedure that was carried out by the urologist was called PCNL where they put small tube from my back going to the location of the stone, breaking it into small pieces and sucked it out. Although I was in general aneastesia but the pain after the surgery was very painful as if i live like hell.

I have kidney stones... I went to the hospital yesterday in a hurry cause I couldn't stand the pain anymore... seriously, that was the worst pain I've ever felt! I vomited and received remedies through injection... today, I've had to go back there 'cause the pain was coming back. This is the first time I get this and I'm 15 years old. Tomorrow I'll have a consult with an urologist, the X-ray revealed nothing and the urine exam showed blood cells. I need luck!

@Ryctophaze94 iv recently drank the lemon juice for 12 hours 2days back and i have had no pain what so ever highly recommended, what you need to do is drink 250ml of pure lemon juice, 1 hour later pour 7oz of water into a cup followed by oz of lemon juice drink it an do this every hour for 12 hours im pain free
@XVIRARKII At first, the pain is light, it seems like if you had slept in a bad position. But it doesn't matter the position you are (sit, layed down or stand up) the pain probably won't go away. Sooner or later ir starts to get worse and worse. If you go to hospital, they will inject medicine to stop the pain (in my case, this took around 40 min - 1h, cause the medicine is a bit strong, so if it goes fast into your vein, the place hurts a bit, nothing to worry). (CONTINUES)
@XVIRARKII ...When it ends, they might ask urine sample for analysis and you wil lbe sent home. The pain may come back anytime, considering the medicine effect will end. When the stone moves, it hurts, and you need medicine to stop the pain. The stone may take from a few hours to almost a month to go out.
@kynigh start eating a lot of lemons and i mean a lot, the acid with shave down the kidney ston and sometimes it will desolve if you eat a lot of the lemons, plus it sometimes shaves it down enough to where you pee it out without knowings.
I am what doctors call a stone maker. It is absolute misery you vomit you can't stand you can't sit you break out in a sweat you shake. The pain is from this spikey little stone moving around from the kidney to drop to the ureter in order for you to pee it out. The peeing part makes you bleed and it burns, sometimes you can feel it drop. But it is absolutely the most horrible thing a person can go through. Nightmare. The whole time I'm begging some one to knock me out.
I can't imagine the pain you all-- those who have had stones-- went through. The guy I'm seeing right now has them, he gets them a lot, and he's in constant pain. His doctor gave him some pill to help pass it, which hasn't helped, so he may need surgery. Will the surgery be an out-patient surgery, does anyone know?

@catonahi i know everyone thinks because it's your kidneys that it only has to do with your liquid diet, but what your kidneys do is filter your blood, not what you drink. so yes, it could be because of the types of things you drink, but there's also a good chance your diet is too salty, you're taking in too much calcium, etc. you need to evaluate your diet along with having a urinalysis and bloodwork to determine what your cause is, in particular.
@Scottieonfire i have a really high tolerance for pain, usually... and i cried. now that i know what the pain is from i think i can handle it though. it was pretty stressful mentally to think that my appendix was about to burst or something. i don't know, though. i haven't had severe pain again yet, so maybe i won't be able to handle it like i think.

Passing them is rarely the worst part. The pain when actually passing the stone may not be felt or is very quick.
The pain you feel as the stone is traveling at the speed of snail through your body is what hurts like a motherfucker. I'm battling one right now - hoping that it only lasts a few days.

@thedaniel2997 13? That's young for a stone dude. I'm 30 and haven't had one yet. You should seriously consider changing your diet. Some people need to avoid certain foods because they're very prone to stones. Talk to your doc about it, maybe see a nutritionist or something.

and to dissolve that i had to drink stuff that made my ph go above 7.
i`m not sure that drinking lemon juice which is sour will help here.

kidney stones are super easy to get rid of.
I've done studies and experiments for a long time and if you dont believe me you can try it at home yourself.
Drinking 2 full large glasses of lemon in the morning for 2 days will clear your stones. Lemon is a stone-cold killer.
The Best and super stone killer is white champagne drink it the same way and BAM! its gone.
You can see for yourself using eggshells. Powder it so it converts to pure calcium. Pour lemon/champ on it and see it melt.

Ah Yes I am a stone maker, I have a stent in me right now as we speak and am scheduled for surgery Tuesday, so yay! I had nothing better to do so yeah! I feel your pain literally. One goes away another comes back, it's the worst pain ever. Makes you vomit. I'm exhausted from it all. nothing is worse. NOTHING!!!!

I have kidney stones... I went to the hospital yesterday in a hurry cause I couldn't stand the pain anymore... seriously, that was the worst pain I've ever felt! I vomited and received remedies through injection... today, I've had to go back there 'cause the pain was coming back. This is the first time I get this and I'm 15 years old. Tomorrow I'll have a consult with an urologist, the X-ray revealed nothing and the urine exam showed blood cells. I need luck!

@luvbieber06 Well, my 1st comment was 1 month ago. Guess what? They're back! But now at the left side. I can't believe it... I definitely can't! How the hell can I be so unlucky!?!? And yes, I drink a lot of water.... it sucks hard, the pain comes back every single day, but its never enough to take me to the hospital. I CAN stand it cause it lasts for around 20 minutes and than goes away... sometimes I feel it like twice - 3 times a day.

@XVIRARKII hey im a 22 year old guy im tuff as old boots but fuckin hell iv currently got a kidney stone it was a mild pain at first and it got worse to the point where it drags you to the floor, i have just seen lots of videos on how to pass it painlessly by drinking 8once of lemon juice every hour for 12 hours and 100s of people say it works good luck

@Ryctophaze94 iv recently drank the lemon juice for 12 hours 2days back and i have had no pain what so ever highly recommended, what you need to do is drink 250ml of pure lemon juice, 1 hour later pour 7oz of water into a cup followed by oz of lemon juice drink it an do this every hour for 12 hours im pain free

@XVIRARKII At first, the pain is light, it seems like if you had slept in a bad position. But it doesn't matter the position you are (sit, layed down or stand up) the pain probably won't go away. Sooner or later ir starts to get worse and worse. If you go to hospital, they will inject medicine to stop the pain (in my case, this took around 40 min - 1h, cause the medicine is a bit strong, so if it goes fast into your vein, the place hurts a bit, nothing to worry). (CONTINUES)

@XVIRARKII ...When it ends, they might ask urine sample for analysis and you wil lbe sent home. The pain may come back anytime, considering the medicine effect will end. When the stone moves, it hurts, and you need medicine to stop the pain. The stone may take from a few hours to almost a month to go out.

@kynigh start eating a lot of lemons and i mean a lot, the acid with shave down the kidney ston and sometimes it will desolve if you eat a lot of the lemons, plus it sometimes shaves it down enough to where you pee it out without knowings.

I am what doctors call a stone maker. It is absolute misery you vomit you can't stand you can't sit you break out in a sweat you shake. The pain is from this spikey little stone moving around from the kidney to drop to the ureter in order for you to pee it out. The peeing part makes you bleed and it burns, sometimes you can feel it drop. But it is absolutely the most horrible thing a person can go through. Nightmare. The whole time I'm begging some one to knock me out.

I can't imagine the pain you all-- those who have had stones-- went through. The guy I'm seeing right now has them, he gets them a lot, and he's in constant pain. His doctor gave him some pill to help pass it, which hasn't helped, so he may need surgery. Will the surgery be an out-patient surgery, does anyone know?

@catonahi i know everyone thinks because it's your kidneys that it only has to do with your liquid diet, but what your kidneys do is filter your blood, not what you drink. so yes, it could be because of the types of things you drink, but there's also a good chance your diet is too salty, you're taking in too much calcium, etc. you need to evaluate your diet along with having a urinalysis and bloodwork to determine what your cause is, in particular.

@Scottieonfire i have a really high tolerance for pain, usually... and i cried. now that i know what the pain is from i think i can handle it though. it was pretty stressful mentally to think that my appendix was about to burst or something. i don't know, though. i haven't had severe pain again yet, so maybe i won't be able to handle it like i think.

Passing them is rarely the worst part. The pain when actually passing the stone may not be felt or is very quick.
The pain you feel as the stone is traveling at the speed of snail through your body is what hurts like a motherfucker. I'm battling one right now - hoping that it only lasts a few days.

@thedaniel2997 13? That's young for a stone dude. I'm 30 and haven't had one yet. You should seriously consider changing your diet. Some people need to avoid certain foods because they're very prone to stones. Talk to your doc about it, maybe see a nutritionist or something.

Have you heard about of "Chanca piedra" plant?? Well, the meaning is smash or break stones. It use to eliminate little stone from kidney and it's very common in Peru. i used to beak down by external laser surgery, but just last one piece was stuck in my kidney and for 1 month i couldn't remove. my doctor said that it will drop just by drinking lots of fluids. yesterday after driving my car for 155 miles (250 km) along rough asphalt, finally today i dropped the last stone. maybe the frequent shocks by the road helped the stone to move inside :)) now i am stone free:))
