I was there. I think it was December '88. It was absolutely one of the best concerts I've ever seen. What the video doesn't capture is the chaos going down. There was a falling scaffolding, amps crashing, and all sorts of other madness. None of which phased Keith or the anyone else in the band. It was a great show indeed.

In Spain the Flamenco gypsies play until they the music creates the "Duenda" meaning (the soul, the essence of the music) Hard to do, unless you first master the instrument, and hardest genre of guitar playing on the planet. Live the life of a gypsy and express the struggles thru your soul then out your hands, feet, voice etc. Keith reaches the duenda of rock and roll..and "It's to my liken!"
I bought "Talk is Cheap" when it came out in 1988 and still listen to it on a regular basis. It's very diverse styleistically and unmistakably Keith. If you don't own it you're missing out. IMO one of the best rock 'n roll albums of all time.
For me a guitarist is excellent when u can recognize his style in just a couple of bars Keith, Eric, Santana, John lee Hooker, the Three kings(Albert, Freddie and BB) It´s not how much notes u can play It is how you play em Keith is the shit man !!
I couldn't agree more! Keith is certainly not the "best" guitarist in the technical sense, however his iconic sound moves me in a way that no other guitarist can. It's an unmistakable, and immediately recognizable sound that just grabs you the moment you here it.
Obviously :) If a gutarist was good according to the number of notes he plays, a writer would be good according to the number of words he writes :) Keith rules.
