  • I prefer his old songs like this one.

  • OMG LAST TIME I HEARD THIS WAS IN 2003 I GET A STRANGE FEELING WHEN I LISTEN TO THIS..

  • Bwahahaha!!! Taiwanese or Chinese, Jay Chou is Jay Chou. When you get this type of talent, nationality doesn't define them anymore. You can see it in his work or particulary this video. He's singing in Chinese but that's definitely some Sicilian town out of the godfather scene. And did he just made the sign of the cross? I rest my case.

  • excellent

  • awesome~!!!!

  • @dergrex2008.

yup, taiwan ppl dun want to be called as mainland chinese, because in english there is no different , everyone who speak mandarin or Cantonese will be consider chinese, no matter where u came from, so i use the word chinese as 华人, this will solve the problem, no matter you come from china or taiwan or hongkong, u cant deny u are 华人

  • @kfsify

    中国人= mainland chinese

    台湾人= taiwan chinese

    华人 = chinese

    Get it?

  • @Foxspecial1989

good to know... i only knew the first one :D

  • I haven't seen the Godfather but i have played gta liberty city, so i thought of that while the song was playing, however can someone answer this question? The son's name is " in the name of the father", which father is he talking about, that catholic one, his, or both? I think both because there is some justice, but mostly revenge in this

  • @xdoraemonx8x Some girl pray in italian. The words are extracted from Bible. Not really a song.

  • WANTED !! Jay Chou

  • WOAH?

  • @tenglee2 Italian...

  • The chinese mafia.. I like it :)

  • I thought chinese musics are not really good. but this music definitely has changed my mind.

  • This is THE one music video where Jay appears this mysterious and badass. I love love LOVE this song and this MV! Seriously, he's such a BAMF here. Who else can be a Chinese mafia member with such style and flair?

  • can anyone tell me wat's the meaning of the words that jay chou said in the beginning of the music??

  • @The89candy U mean the words he said in latin? It's part of a prayer

Our Father in Heaven

Land, honor & power belongs to You

Til eternity

Amen

That's all, then it's followed by another "Ave Maria, ..... me famille" which I'm guessing is prayers for family? Hehe... Only the first part spoken in latin sounds like Jay, but after that sounds like some other guy...

  • how awesome is he !

Here is the a part of lyrics in Chinese.

I Will try to translate it for you.

But I don't have time now.

    Sorry, you need to wait.

If you feel wait too long and than please notice me. ^^

I have try to use google trans , but the means all in wrong.

  • @iscr34m In the Name of the Father the chilly morning dew moistens his cassock a fog casts over the slate path it is Father murmuring self-consciousness comprehending in despair severer cruelty being the sole option for all is for needing to go to heaven the lingering mist guises over motives who is gently strolling halt before time permits for weeping the penetrating bullet takes away the body's warmth
  • everyone is guilty for the differents sins we've committed I can decipher who is right and who should sink into slumber disputes cannot resolve in this never ending night seal your babbling lips for my sole gratefulness everyone ahead is guilty even remorse means dead end decreeing in the name of the Father the sensation is inexplicable just like tears which accompany a smile peering into pitch blackness the sorrow which hinders the spread of tragedy mesmerises my senses
  • beckoning with a kiss on my left hand in exchange for a pledge of forgiveness antiquated pipe organ in the corner sounds perpetually black drapery wavers in the wind the sun's rays penetrates silently flooding over tamed flock of beasts soundlessly shouting silently roaring solitude begins to morph into character as it sneers at my very being memories gradually spreading visions that were once innocent gentleness of cruelty emerges the time has come we take our prayers in unison
  • merciful Father, I've fallen into a country where nobody is aware of sin please pardon my conceit no one understands no one can express solitude consealed by honour shutting my eyes, the vision reappears of a dream years back under a misty sky Father took my hand as we sauntered along that silent slate path of early morning
  • @iscr34m it's so long, and I'm not good at translation. so I just found a version to you on the chiese search engine. the original translator is 江城游子, hope it will be helpful. the lyrics are really nice! I like it so much

  • imagine this man! chinese italians!!!

  • yea... lol italian... people dun speak latin nowadays... the use of italian further enhances the mafia feeling this song is trying to bring

  • I want to know abt him more. He is the first Hong Kong singer who I know. So good!!

  • ummm he is not a hong kong singer....i think....more like taiwanese singer......

  • @danglelingmodifier it's not like it's he is aiwanese.

  • he's a taiwanese singer

  • not hong kong... lol, he's Taiwanese

  • I love the use of Latin in this! lol

  • The song talks about taking revenge into your own hands. It has very subtle hints of Christian themes, especially when people thinks that they are doing something for God, hence the title - In the Name of the Father. The beginning is the Lord's Prayer in Latin.

  • 1:10

  • I love this song but am not sure what it's about,

can somebody summarize it for me?

  • that's like saying "don't listen to american songs if ur chinese". dude. it's so alrite to watch songs in other languages than your own.

  • Don't trip about that, I'm Chinese but Cantonese so I don't know what he is saying either.. but it's still good music! I'll be waiting for a summary too.. haha

  • I speak mandarin, but still can not understand what he sing without lyric.

haha, I think we should not focus too much about the lyric, just enjoy the music.

  • d man's witnessed his father being killed when he was a boy. he grew up, but descended into d illegal world. he's always think of his innocent life before, but cannot pulled himself out of the illegal life now. he's singing:'i've descended to invisible illegal country...'

  • the song is basically about he feels sorry for his father because he chose to do something that his father doesnt expect him to do! but there is no way for him to get back

  • nice song jay keep always doing illegal ^^.......

  • nice song jay keep always doing illegal ^^.....

  • cool

  • As like Aryans (Germans), they have great and beautiful culture/music influences all over the world because they want to influence the world step by step not like what Nazi did before. We, Taiwanese, should have confidence to influence all Chinese (China/HK/Singapore...) through our strong culture/music/freedom.....

  • video clip is perfect n so nice

  • Den är så sjukt bra!

  • Gosh, are all Singaporean stalkers?

no wonder you guys have such strict rules...

But it's sad...your famous red light district is for breeding grounds for gross people like you guys-WATTS7836, cobs1130..

  • talking to yourself?

shows how "mainlander" supports really have psychological problems.

  • I don't get the story! Is the theme revenge or something??

  • Please go study some history...saying Taiwanese is Chinese is no different than saying we are all human beings...true but not much of a point.
