Di Meola's compositions and the way he picks every note at the speed he plays is phenomenal. Frank Gambale is the sweeping master and Paul Gilbert is a shredding animal. Listen to a song called Mediterranean Sun dance on the album Friday night in San Francisco, performed by Di Meola and Paco di Lucia. Now if you seriously think this guy could play at the ferocity of that? then you've seen something I haven't. I am not criticizing this guy at all, I think he is a great talent.

That's not the Black One. The Black One has always looked beat up. He custom made it like that because having some of the wood on the body showing helps the guitar resonate and creates more sustain. Thats just one of his 200 hundred other guitars.

John Mayer can play almost any type of guitar from electric to acoustic...he is a gifted guitar player and through the years it has just gotten better and better....I have watched enough of his concerts to know that...I'm not saying the ones you mentioned aren't good but John is definitely the best...You can't say that their style of playing is something John could never do...
