Oh, really? I always figured this was a Colorado shout out, I know the phone area code around Denver is 303, they're pretty proud of that. Either way, cool reference slipped in. #sixseasonsandamovie
@abberjabberz The episode was meant to be aired as the 3rd episode of the 3rd season, but was actually aired as the 4th episode. The 303 (the room number of Abed and Troy's place) can be interpreted as the season number followed by the episode number or the episode's "production code". The adlib by Gillian (Britta) is just a meta (?) joke about this change in airing.
What also helped was that in Competitive Ecology, Shirley called Britta's lighter a marijuana lighter and Pierce made the Eartha Kitt reference.
Could those even be seperate easter eggs? Or maybe something to watch out for, since Britta told Shirley about the marijuana smoking in the timeline where Abed gets the pizzas. Which, supposedly, isn't the one that actually happened...
@bronzekitty26 I think it's a safe assumption that those events that happened in the abed timeline which have caused people to speculate it's the true version have also happened in the real one. Just because we never got to see it doesn't me it couldn't have happened.
And if we did see those events in the final (real) outcome of the total 7, then it would mean the others would be less interesting and the story wouldn't make sense if we found out about Britta at the very end.
@bronzekitty26 I thought they aired those references in that episode so there wouldn't be any confusion on what timeline the following episodes would take place in.
@SGuyQST It wasn't NBC's fault. Dan Harmon didn't think the original 303 episode would be edited to a good enough standard in time due to it being more complex whereas the original 304 episode was near enough finished by the time it had to be aired.
He pushed NBC to swap the episodes round, he said it on his blog somewhere

@bronzekitty26 That wasn't the first time Britta has mentioned drugs though. So it doesn't have to be from that timeline in Chaos.

@Threxd Yeah I had a brain fart and got things mixed up. I'm sure NBC has screwed up in other ways, so I'll let my original comment stand :) *
*I will delete only on the official annoucement of Season 4. You've been warned NBC!
