The infliction of risk on innocents in the name of culture or belief is just wrong. Exposing a baby to a significant risk of death from entirely avoidable causes for the sake of a fashionable stunt birth to be boasted about at dinner parties is selfish and sick.

Such strong judgement...
We are all mammals after all, how do you think that birth happened before western hospitals etc.
You have 4x more chance of getting an infection in hospital, than at home...
I have had friends babies die after being birthed in hospital as well..
If you feel the connection between yourself & your bub and are not afraid, GO FOR IT!
I'm having an unassisted home birth in 2 weeks and can't wait to get in tune & let my little enter the world!

Looks like they were at or near a birth center. The midwives there would check the baby out for records and stuff.
