Haha what a wild ride almost every episode had a cliffhanger. Each time I thought for sure they were goners only to somehow survive. This is what story telling is all about.

energy based vs. projectile, self repairs on the windshield are possible too. (IE, it ejected the broken one and extended out a new one.) the food issue was resolved when they realized only parts of the planet were toxic, not all.

What about vacuum exposure? Exeter was out of the cockpit for well over a minute which would have proved fatal in reality.

It's just a cartoon from the 1980's. Kids back then wouldn't know the difference until 20+ years later when they grow up and start analyzing things in a realistic way. So in the meantime it worked and kept the kids watching for a 30 min block without having to justify anything.

I was simply pointing out that if they parachuted to safety or had one of the bad guys making a cameo at the end, the writers would probably be like "So...where do we go from here guys...we're going to have to make a full fledged series!"
