i don't think the characters in FF8 are cool, in fact, i think this was the worst final fantasy. most all the other ff games have some animal team member and awesome moves, then this one comes in and ruins (my) ff experience...
Quistis's and Laguana's hair is flawless. Cid is Robin Williams. Also, why is Edea wearing that frumpy dress she wore like, when she ran the orphanage? She looked so much more fierce in her Sorceress attire. And Rinoa might not have enough substance in her to make her a GOOD female lead, she was arguably the prettiest. :0
I thought the ending to this final fantasy was excellent, although there were plot holes related with ultimecia. I thought the ending and ideas were awesome in this game, I still think the most epic part was the whole garden vs garden part on disc 2. The ending depicts the charcters very well also, from what the game did.

What do you mean most of them have animal team members? Final Fantasy I-V and VIII didn't have animal members, and 6 games out of 12 is half.
