Try and play some of their other songs, this is sort of their breakdown song, clearly. Its not their hardest, but if you dont know how to play guitar, i dont believe that you can play this song.
well apart from messing around on my friends guitar, i'd never tried to learn anything or learn any songs, although i have been playing bass for 4 years so that might have helped (although i play with fingers and never really used a pick either) i agree this is no where near their hardest song, thats why i chose to learn this one ;) i might post a video of me playing it sometime if you want?
i agree with you. i'm a drummer and this type of music isn't really my style (i play jazz fusion), but i was asked to fill in for my friend who's band covers some of the chariot's songs. really complex stuff and very physcally demanding as well. i have a lot of respect for these guys.
Oh yeah, man the drums are very challenging. I haven't spent much time counting them, but it sounds like semi-constant polyrythms, and just odd complexities. Jazz fusion is sick too haha

I watched the video because I like NJ but Th main problem I have with the Chariot is that it always seems like they just bang on their instruments with out any method to their madness but I do think that The Chariot is more of something that should be experienced live than listened to on a CD. I'm not hating on them just saying I wish they'd have a bit of musical direction in their music because they could be really good.
Sorry to anyone who likes them but they're pretty awful there's not way to play your guitar well when your swinging it around like that. Also before I get flamed I listen to plenty of Metal, Becoming the Archetype is a REALLY heavy band I like but they have talent, I'm awful at guitar yet I can play chariot songs, there's no structure at all it's just noise.
I saw these guys live in montreal 3 days ago, oppening for Gojira. I have to say I was completely blown away by their performance. The music wasnt very good, but they did the most intense and incredible things I have EVER EVER seen a band do on stage, no other band is remotely close. Also, after the concert, the drummer walked up to us and we had a half hour conversation with him, and he was a great guy
