Whenever I’d beat a Mega Man boss or robot master I’d always give a enthusiastic fist pump or something like that. But for this boss, I was actually SCARED for the first time in my life that there was a boss that I could not beat.. when I finally won last that night/morning at 3am, I gave a relieving and collective sigh of relief.. the horror was over.

oh and btw, use Springs (hold up for high bounce btw) not the SA bullshit. it will go much faster, you'll get hit less because dash > double jump for dodging (your double jump saved you from nothing lol)

You know, it's better to get frozen than get hit with the red balls, cuz they freeze AND sap. So, if you're given the choice to get hit by a blue, then do so, cuz it's a lot better than the other hits.

There's a distinct rhythm for beating his attacks. You pretty much have to bait and switch their homing properties with jumps and slides to moke them not move towards you.

This boss is the hardest of all freakin wily bosses! c'mon, the only way to win is to get hit by the ball that does the LEAST amount of damage (yellow), unless you are Super skilled AND lucky, it's impossible to avoid those damn things.

Never thought of using the Rush Adapter. Nor would I want to. He's hard enough without using less effective weapons.

Also, while it takes some practice, if you can slide you CAN avoid most of his attacks.

I can usually take him with 0 or 1 energy refill.

Go into it with full health, 4 Energy Containers, a Weapon Container, and a Super Container. Use charged spring attacks when he's low enough and use Freeze Cracker when he's up high. You'll definitely beat him if you hit him almost every time.

A word of advice if you're having trouble beating him: If you can't dodge all of the balls, try to get hit by the yellow ones - they are far less damaging!

Once the balls pop out jump and then run in the other direction. The balls will head towards were you were originally. Also use the freeze-cracker on Wily. It can be fired in all 8 directions, giving you more flexilbility to run around the screen.

nintendocult, u do know a non-autofire freeze works better right? takes off 2 bars and can be fired upwards for easier and quicker hits. hit him quickly and timely enuff and u can get him twice before he hits u. face it, u cant dodge those dots i tried time and time again and the protoshield doesnt help.

I;ve beat him whith mega buster and 4 energy tanks. He's atack can be easlily dodged: when orbs first time move, we need jump over first. Rest should have miss megaman. This doesnt work on all atacks, but on meny of them.

There was a cheat with the emulator in this game? Never knew. Only used save state prior to this final fight. When I took this boss down, it took me close to 2-3 dozen tries. The final form was hard. We exchanged blows, The Super Adapter vs Wily's elemental ball.

Since getting hit is pretty much a foregone conclusion in this boss fight, I deliberately get hit by the yellow bolts -- the fire and ice bolts do too much damage. And I still end up using energy and weapon tanks...

You may or may not know, a really safe way to beat DR wily in the second form is to use the coils then zap him with the thunder bolt. When the bolt hits him he wont do the 4 orbs, only the ground ones which is easy enough to jump over

Oh yes. I remember spending hours of being pissed off because of those stupid 4 shots he would fire off. I used W. Coil (you can charge it) on Wily instead of Rush Suit. I used to have a solid way to doge those attacks. I think I jumped through the middle of the shots and counted to three, then dashed under them (I think).

This was one of my favorite Mega Man games. It's pretty darn impossible to dodge those balls. Every once in a while you get lucky and it misses you. I always tried to aim and get hit by the yellow balls because they do the less damage than the fire and ice ball :p

It took me about 90 minutes to understand and [mostly] master the technique to dodging those shots.

It's a bit difficult to explain your positioning for each time Wily shows up, but the general rule is that, on the first noise from the blasts, you jump. On the second noise, you slide. On the third and final noise, you jump.

You have to experiment with this technique, but once you figure things out, the battle is a lot easier.
