that's friggin sweet man. i wanna start a project with a school bus to haul a trailer of quads or whatever and a bunch of buddies. you are my inspiration.
Im not hating on your bus at all, I trully think you did a remarkable job. But, there is one thing I did notice... There's alot of wasted space in the back bedroom, have you thought about bunk beds in the back? Or maybe some cabinet space above the beds? I think it would be something to think about.
i know you have to have a CDL license to drive school bus..but if you turn one into a party bus like you did, do you still need the CDL license to drive it?
I enjoyed watching the video, i have a simular bus, 1988 ford diesel, I need some information from you about how you did your bus in detail if you don't mind.
a step by step detail of what you started on first, and the materials you used, measurements etc.
You are more than welcome to contact me with specific questions, but I cant put in writing everything I did. I would be more than happy to help you wiht any info. 260.348.4085 ask for Jeb or leave a mess and I will call back . Thanks!
alright thats awesome, well thanx and ya ill put up a video of ours when its done, we spend a bit of money on the engine, its a 5.9l diesel, she smokes
Fantastic work with your conversion. I have been shopping for a short range tour bus for my band. Recently discovered the school bus conversion concept, and am strongly considering taking that route. So much more economical, and fun too. Thanks for the great video. if you don't mind my asking, did you purchase your bus directly from a school district? I have found quite a few on ebay as well. What was the cost of the bus before conversion?
Thanks. It was alot of fun amd would probably do some things different. I purchased the bus from a bus dealer that works with schools. I went that way because they had more to choose from and also when you get one that has just been released from a school district like that, it usually is maintained very well. I payed $1700 for a 1989 Ford B700 with a 370 gas engine and 155k miles. Hope this helps.
Thanks for the info. It's helpful to see others accomplish a task like this. Makes it seem like a real possibility for me. Do you have a lot of experience with shop tools, wood work, electric, etc. Or did you do a lot of research, internet help, etc?
I don't have a ton of experience building and refurbishing, but I could figure a lot out if I had the necessary tools. How many basic power tools did you need? I'm assuming basic wood shop stuff to cut and shape all the wood, screwdrivers, drills, etc. Any other specialty items?
Awesome! Really cool bus! And it's even better that you guys did it yourself. I hope that the bus will run good for a long time, and that you'll have lots of fun with it.
God AMAISING!! You could convert that into a schoolbus!!!!

The inside is pretty damn cool but it needs bodywork on the outside to loose the tart cart appearance. Pretty cool man.
