What a f***ing good song!!!! My friend bought this album for me the Christmas it came out and it was on my turntable for 6 months. Still gets me the same way.
Furniture were a fantastic band and this track has poignant memories for me. My girlfriend and I loved the band. As with all romances we ended up going our seperate ways after everything got too tired. Yet this song makes me think of life back in the mid 80's. There's a great line ' Did we really live like this'.
A song full of ennui and regret, it struck me when I was sixteen as a very sad song. I've just bought the re-issued cd having had the album when it came out. After not hearing most of the songs for over twenty years, they sound better now than they did in 1986. Furniture were definitely one of the eighties most interesting bands who captured something different, and they deserve a special place in the pop archives because of this.
Sincerly i cant leave to hear this song. i knew that exist, but never before i had listening, i was searching for all the net from years ago and today i found it while i was hearing love your shoes.
love this band

Wonderful, imperfect genius from one of the great forgotten bands of the 80s. Holds great memories for me, thanks for posting :-)

This song is on their final record. Kinda best of and rest of, or a-sides and b-sides.
Also appears on the original album "the wrong people" which, if i am not mistaken, was never released on cd.
