so incredible. she looks like a swan, not a dancer trying to be a swan. it's as if we stand on the edge of a lake watching something too beautiful and sacred that it fills us with sadness.
@sjhletitbe She is one of the most graceful dancers it has been my good fortune to come across. She has amazing grace in her arms. You can almost see the delicate wings of the swan as it fades into obscurity. Thank you for your comment.
Please feel free to use this clip for your short film. I would be honoured. Only promise me that you will send me a copy of what you have done. It would be quite something to see your work. Thank you for thinking of me and for asking. (^_^)
@emmsteemmastewart Thank you for addressing this person. I have been meaning to get to that comment for a few days. I thought I had addressed this subject adequately in the description under the video and when I put the primer before the actual dance. But, I guess some people don't pay attention to that kind of detail, so they make sweeping statements in their ignorance, as @Stryker146 did.
It was your video featuring Svetlana Zarakhova that inspired me to do this. I was initially going to feature another duo doing "Le Cygne", but I had to change my mind after I decided to feature THIS ballet dancer. This particular dance is almost a minute longer than most, so I had a hard time finding this music that was stretched out long enough to fit the dancer's interpretation of "Le Cygne". I removed the original score because of annoying live coughing noises. :-)
I removed the original orchestration from this video. It was a live performance, so it had all the usual problems with people coughing and clearing throats and other noises which only served to distract from the beauty of the ballet and the music. It was difficult to find a piece that matched this particular dance, which is slightly longer than most, but here are the details.
Saint-Saëns: Carnival of the Animals - David Owen Norris (pianist), I Musici de Montréal & Yuli Turovsky (Cellist).

This is not the Dying Swan. It is The Swan.
Stryker146 1 year ago
@Stryker146 the piece of music is called the swan, but the choreographed dance to the piece is called the dying swan.
