  • I said 38 pounds of all sorts of different sweets, byotch! jajaja

  • They sound so polite in this when, Swedish is sooo much better thought! Thank you Astrid!May you rest in peace<3

  • it's so cute those british voices, better then the badass american voices

  • Give all of it to pippi and she well get Diabetes.

  • swedish/original beats everything, but it's ok xD

  • Actually they dub the movie for those who can't READ - like small children for example....!!! --- It IS a childrens movie - and they don't really care if it isn't lip-synked - not until they are a bit older...

  • Bloody murder!!!

  • 4.02 What a cute kid!!

  • haha, this is so wrong! weird! it suposed to be in swedish! xD

  • now pippi has to take all those kids to the dentist.

  • how kind of her.

  • 60's Pippi is the best!

  • @sygo7g Me neither lol but these kids are thinking that way now days.

  • @sygo7g Thats right lol, you sure do. Kids are just not satisfied anymore cause I know a guy that has a little boy and he is only 4 years old and he is already asking his daddy for 50.00 dollars.

  • If you like Astrid Lindgren you should go to Astrid Lindgrens Värld in Småland. It is AWESOME

  • This reminds me so much of the good ole days. Days where kids were more satisfied with what they got. Now days its like "Daddy can I have $50.00 dollars"

  • it sucks take right language

  • And the kids look like there gonna rave the place

  • The kids look like there gonna mug them on there way out

  • LOL its suppost to be swedish ^^ - the original language

  • lät som det gick för tanten @ 3:18

  • I've been avoiding wanting to buy the new dubbed DVD version because I have the old VHS english tapes. As much as I'd love this in Swedish with english subtitles seeing this makes me want to buy this new dubbed version just to see it again remastered.

  • GOOOOODD FAIL!!! both the dub and when it isnt the original lang. Swedish!

  • wow > >....I can feel the sugar high just watching them eat

  • So... why does the little boy who comes out with Pippi have a plastic arm with him??

  • @Lin12Cat He got it from a mannequin earlier in the episode.

  • wayy better on original swedish!

  • I read the books and this part was in them! Annika is so cute and so is Pippi! :)

  • allt godis ser så gott ut = all the candy looks so good

  • ONE Gold Coin couldn't pay for shit in games! :(

  • Sweden FTW!

  • godiset ser fruktansvärt gott ut

  • dubbed versions suck i only like the subtitles!

  • lmfao..What a classic. I was ok when this showed in American English but this is terrible. Wow, I feel so old. ;)

  • I think it´s rather funny that they have changed some of the lines to fit with what English speaking kids. In the Swedush (the correct one :)) They say that they are happy that otäs saturday otherwise they wouldn't been allowed to eat candy. In Swedeb we call it lördagsgodis (Saturday's candy)

  • @sumle85

Og på dansk kalder vi det lørdagsslik ^^

  • Oh my sweet succulent Jebus, this is appalling! As a Swede who grew up with Astrid Lindgren's books and movies (born in 1985), this is a figurative rape of my childhood.

Now I know how gutted you Brits must have felt when so many european countries dubbed Dr Snuggles, Danger Mouse, Alias the Jester, Raggy Dolls (Neil Innes for the win!) and the likes. I mainly point in the direction of the works of Cosgrove Hall as they were so FANTABULSOUSLY great in the '80s.

  • .....HAHAHAHAHAH ... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH , Poor Pippi Långstrump </3 She sound like a retard in english ... HAHAHHA

  • This is exactly as I remember, from back in MY day. Early 70's. Thanks for sharing soooo much.

  • I remember this episode :)

I don´t like the eng dub the swedish original is better

  • This sounds so weird in english

  • haha holy shit it sounds strange on english when you are from sweden and watch this when you where little :D

  • Haha fan va lol xD Låter hur konstigt som helst. Svenska ska det ju va!!

  • Annika's voice is ridiculous... sorry...

  • don't apologize. it's true.

  • she sounds like she's forty

  • swedish children tv program

  • my finger's name is pippi. ha. pippi

  • chocolate ciggerates!!! ha! Try finding those in America now!

  • People who dub anything except cartoons/animations should be hanged. Looks ridiculous.

... When that's said, anyone else thinks the candy looked way better "back in the old days"? Especially in that old candy store. Now you just buy it in plastic bags at the grocery store, where they're filled with artificial crap and unnatural coloring.

  • Depends a lot. In town we still have one store like this called Kanolds, which is also a very old chocolate maker here where I live, and every time I visit them it's like travelling back in time. And we still make much candy the old fashioned way, but it is of course more expensive.

  • @Starchild91 Keep in mind, it's a kids' program, and little kids aren't very likely to sit and read subtitles. Now as an adult, personally, I'd love to have the original Swedish with English subtitles, but there just isn't enough of a demand for it.

  • @Starchild91 may look ridiculous, but how else would we understand?

  • @Starchild91 actually most swedish candy still look like this.. they really put a loy of honor in making the best candy in the world :)

  • @Starchild91

Back in the soviet union, we we're lucky to get honey.

  • @Starchild91 there is a reason for dubbing it. i hate dubs myself and I grew up in small country not knowing english till i was 15 or so. You cant read subs properly till you at least 11-12 years old. so are you going to simultaneousley interpret for all the little kids because you have hanged all dubbers? and then i dont get any one who have you a thumb up for this nonsense...

  • @Vipatko I've read subs for as long as I can remember, and I've never had a problem with it. I also think reading subs instead of listening to a dubbed version has great advantages - as it helps you not only get better at reading, but also teaches you a little about the language you're hearing. Whether it's Swedish, English, Japanese, Italian or whatever... It helps you, especially young children, to recognize a language later - which is always a good thing.

  • @Starchild91 ok, so you could read since you were 5 or 6, right? Thats great, but what about the rest of non brainial population? dubs are necessary no matter whats your opinion on them is.

  • @Vipatko Most kids watch TV a lot. And they're just spending more and more time in front of the TV. Why not keep the subtitles there, and encourage them to read? There's nothing wrong with that, Either you'll end up with a generation of kids that are excellent readers from a very young age, or you'll end up with kids that would rather go outside and play instead of sitting inside, watching TV. It's a win-win situation, don't you agree?

  • @Starchild91 I do agree, but I think that TV companies wouldn't.

Btw, I dont know who deleted my comment, but I would cut his hands off the little twat..

  • @Starchild91 That candy was visually pretty, but sitting out there uncovered with all those kiddies putting their grubby little mitts all over it, that's a staph epidemic waiting to happen.

  • Well, I used to watch it in spanish when I was little and still loving it. It is wonderful that masterpieces like this can be made available in various languages for the world to see :)

  • oh my god, this sounds horrible in english

  • :DDDDDDDDD

  • hahaha!!! im happy i didn't grow up with these dubbed ones XD

  • oh no!this is just to wierd for me xD i'm happy with the swedish orginal thank you:)

  • I used to be so jealous of them when I was younger... Okay I still am haha so much candy! :D

  • I absolutly LOVED this episode when I was a kid :D

  • I agree, it's much better in swedish:P

  • now the children will be her SLAVES!

and yeah, i was wondering about the arm too.

  • @revelationgritz They took the arm from a mannequin in a store that sold fabrics XD

  • The sound is not like I remember growing up.

  • 3:25 - 3:40

Bad translation! And it sounds ridiculous!

  • this is so much better in swedish

  • hahahahaha!!!!!!! diabetes!!!! cavities!!!tummy aches!!! diarrhea!!! you get all this from candy!

  • I like the british dubbed version a whole lot more than the american.

  • @Anakah55 which one is american?

  • @Anakah55 I must hand it too you That is true.

  • @Anakah55 This is originally from Germany :) Pippi Langstrumpf

  • @kockyfications No, it's from Sweden. Pippi Långstrump. The author of the books is Swedish - Astrid Lindgren. The actors are Swedish. I know there is a German cartoon, though.

  • @DisaroChan Oh ok :) .. But they speak German right?

  • @kockyfications No, they speak Swedish. :)

  • everything about this clip is adorable.

  • where'd they get an arm?

  • she bought chocolat ciggarets? what the fuck is this, its pippi! well, they do somke weed in one sceen to, but i thought she where better then that

  • chocklad ciggaretter hade ju alla barn för länge sen:D

  • I think the British English dub sounds slightly better than the old American English dub: at least they sound like children. The American dub sounds like women trying to sound childlike.

  • I have this on VHS

  • british english? eww....

  • de har förstört gamla svenska program med engelsk ACCENT.... ''are there any others who like to try my sweets'' vafan är det

  • pippi seems to rough for the england accent it dosent fit at all, its kind of annoying

  • Swedish:

Skålen bakom Annika ser ut att vara full med ostbågar, 2:01.

    English:

The bowl behind Annika looks like being full of cheese-doodles at 2:01.

  • This is great for all the kids that like bubbles! And socks!

  • fan. vad dåligt. svenska ska det vara!!

  • hahahaha.... gud vilken knäpp röst pippi har :P

  • this version is really posh compared to the other scenes

  • the candy teh girl got is the same as the sign
