i remember playing this game when i was around 6 years old with my 8 and 16 year old brothers. now one's going off to college at michigan state, and the other is in north carolina. im gonna be the only one here. this song makes me wish i could travel back in time and play it with them again.
I love this game.I serious forgot about how good the music is till i herd the Fire Feild again, then i had to listen to everything. Now i wanna play the game again. why cant game be like this now. I like the game out now but they will never compare to Old School nintendo games in my mind.
it really hurts me to know they dont make games this way any more. I just went through my box of snes games, and just about every game is a classic and magnificiant game.
Sure they do, that feeling is just called nostalgia; check out the indie scene -- obviously nothing exactly like F-Zero there, but there are plenty of retro-style games of all kinds being made.
Wasn't the reason the first and second F-Zero Grand Prix closed early was because of the numerous, fiery deaths? And the participants were supposedly highly trained at least to a minimum degree so a normal twit would die on his first go and take out a major office complex. Well, there will probably be simulations and precautions and shit...
Around 0:20 and 0:30 Turn off sound channel #1 AND #3 on both sides this time if you have music box on SNES9X to hear nothing but the base and chords. Sounds EVEN better!
dammit this music gave sooo much atmosphere to this game! i mean it was an 16 bit 2d game but it had more atmosphere and feeliing then some of the newest high end games today have
this track always gave me chills i dont now if it was the setting sun over the backdrop of mountains and citys or the purple hue in the sky what ever it was it worked so well nintendos got to look back on these games for inspiration.
@Qwepir The majority of the FPS released today are just "hide behind a wall and shoot" with nothing more to offer. It's sad that games like this sell millions of copies. But they're not all bad. There's some FPS which are ver innovative. FPS (First Person Puzzles actually) like Portal are really good. Also, the battlefield serie has tanks, planes and helicopter on huge maps. Sadly, people still prefer buying Call of Duty again and again...
@mrnuage COD4 did add alot of the elements FPS have today though, anything after that is just the same rehash of it, I enjoyed it very much, got Black ops and was entirely disapointed by it, the campaign is just... needless violence, it's not even against "bad guys" it's just killing soldiers and burning them, multiplayer was horrible, I cried, but then I remember we still have Bad Company 2 and Modern Warfare 2 which isn't bad at all, it keeps the same formula from 4 and adds things
Between 0:20 and 0:30, the harmony is just great....I sounds soooo good when you remove the trumpet from the song. I tried it on SNES9X with the music box, and turned off sound channel #1 on both sides. Try it!
Mute City III, Port Town II, and White Land I were my favorite stages, but I wonder why SSBM and SSBB haven't added this song to their games? This is the best! I was fortunate enough to get this game off of eBay for less than $10 bucks earlier this year and I LOVE IT!!! I just can't get over you're video description! IT"S TRUE! Is it because the stage is purple?!? LOL!!!
A friend of mine recently had his SNES out and I was saying to him that the music on F-Zero is great, but one stage in particular is excellent and as soon as the Port Town music started I was like "this is it!". Love this tune (as soon as this vid finished I started it again :))
I agree this track has something mysterious to it, that's why I love it, and I feel bad that there is no remix of it in any new F-Zero (or in Brawl T_T)
Some of the more popular games nowadays have such bland music.... They should pay their whole staff to go back and listen to classic music like this. It is ze sex.
In my opinion they should add soundchips...its the soundchips that made it awesome, I dont know what is it with me and those chips ...I love the way they sound , way sexier than real instruments ...specially the bass AND REALLY ONLY the SPC700 (SNES soundchip)
lol nice description of the video xD and yeah its a great tune, all the sounds blend in perfectly i specially love the ''chorus'' part x] i dont know what else to call it

thps48 2 years ago
They completely rewrote the storyline for F-Zero GX, thus no fiery deaths.
Fiery deaths are way too dark for a game starring the great and always optimistic gentleman Captain Falcon.
NeoTStyle 2 years ago
That was the F-Max Grand Prix which was explained in the classic F-Zero X web comic which explains its origins.
MegamanNG 2 years ago
GX changed the canon though, so X and F Zero SNES dont tell the real story anymore.

Then what is GX's canon anyway.
