Draining the lipo batteries... not good... placing a hot battery on top of the plane; not good either...
Enough with the negativity... What a nice flying machine and awesome flying skills. I was expecting a really bad crash judging from the title, but I'm glad it didn't.
possibly, now this is just a thought, the reason y the battery died is the motor/esc pulling too much amperage out of the battery. or it could be just age( no idea how long you had ran the pack). just something to look into, the specs. of your esc and motor to assure they are mated well.meaning the battery has enough juice or amperage to run the esc and the esc has enought power to run the motor.. great flying beautiful plane and have fun

I have the same or similar plane that I would like to convert to electric. Have you fine tuned it (no hot battery)? What motor, battery and ESC are you using on the plane?
