I'm doing a research on this structure and also obliged to make a similar model.
Can you tell me: How did you make sure it looks almost the same as what we see at the real site? I mean, did you refer to some section drawings or did you just refer to photos?

Hi --
I just built it from photos... 'eyeballed' it, as we say.
Also, this isn't the Velodrome roof. I took this from photos of a model of Calatrava's that had been submitted as part of the olympic proposal (from Filipo Jodidio's book). This structure may never have been built.

Simple...I don't use a PC -- I use a quad-core Xeon Mac Pro!!! ;0)
Actually, that's not a very big model, compared to some I've done...

Fabulous work. When exporting animation go to config. and change the size to 600 by 800 and framerate 25 instead of the default 320x520 fr.rate 10. If the file exeeds 100 mb (youtube limits)then try a lower value.

Well, "Olympic Velodrome Roof" in the title might give you some clues...
The model was eyeballed from a photo of a Calatrava proposal model (in "Calatrava", Taschen)...maybe it's the original design for the velodrome roof?

This is the velodrome roof for the Athens 2004 Summer Olympics. The Olympic Athletic Center of Athens was designed by Santiago Calatrava.
