@victoriacolwell2379 I work at Sephora, and as long as you keep them EXTREMELY clean (I wipe mine off with anit-bacterial wipes, followed by dry wipes once a month) they can last longer. I've had some Urban Decay eyeshadow palettes for 4 years. The only thing I am SUPER anal about is mascara. I have to change it out every 3 months. There's no way to clean it!

I disagree with some of these. For starters all cosmetics these days have dates on them (in the little jar icon). I have pressed powder that says 24 months, not 1 year! Foundation according to two bottles I have say 1 year. Whilst it is so important to throw old stuff out for health and hygeine I think the dates are so short here due to an element of commerial pressure. If they tell you to throw everything before you can finish it then you buy more....

Shit lol. When it comes to eyeshadows I'll keep them forever. It all depends on storage, the way you use it and sanitizing it. They have products that can sanitize your powder makeup so you can stretch that probably two years lol. Mac, Chanel and all that is too expensive to be throwing it away after a few months or so.
