  • The vocals are from "Hypin' Woman Blues" by T-Bone Walker.

  • Moondog-Bird's Lament

  • Comment removed

  • sounds too fast

  • @stephen88hox

You are right I remeber dancing to this in clubs in Bristol when Scruff himself was playing. This is way too fast.

  • kenny anderson adio - one step beyond

  • "must......buy.....Lincoln Navigator!"

  • This song's name is Birds lament (Mr Scruff retail), not Get a move on.

  • @TheMrSkoka the original is bird's lament

  • @sabadashi HA HA SERVED

  • This song is almost as good as anal sex

  • sexy music....

  • i love those shoes o.o

  • @rflmywfl1 I KNOW RIIGGHHT!?! ^_^

  • need a feat with kid koala trumpets sratchs!!!!!!

  • hmmm...nice feet.

  • Imagine playing spy in TF2 with this music playing

  • @mamons30 That is fucking brilliant

  • @mamons30 What is TF2??

  • Ýiiiiiiiiihaaaaaaaaaaahh :D

  • this version sounds like parov stellar

  • If you like this you should check out

    Moondog- Bird's Lament

He used it as a sample in this song.

  • "get a move on " is Scruff most popular track, but do you know he copied almost evrything on "bird's Lament " by Moondog ?

  • This basic beat and rhythm has shown up on my Pandora under so many differ artists I have no clue who did the original anymore...

  • haaa ive heard this tune on a car commercial i think...it was a great catchy tune!!!!

  • Superb song !!

  • chimbisimotema.....

  • Original music by Moondog : a genius.

  • I love the image for this video.

  • Cool :D

  • This version has been pitched. Its way quicker and higher intonated, than the version I have downloaded from iTunes.

  • @Hernstein2783 Yes, because Stephane Pompougnac remixed the track :)

  • @sabadashi I'm sorry, but I'm genuinely confused here. There's absolutely no difference between this and the original apart from some of the intro being cut out and it's been sped up. That really qualifies as a remix these days? (I'm not trying to be a douche or anything, I'm just wondering if you have some context that I don't.)

  • @lillesvin I don't really know if "remix" is the right word. I know that it hasn't been remixed... Hahaha do you have any idea what term should be used?

  • @lillesvin

It's not a remix, "Stephane Pompougnac" is a DJ and he plays a few songs (dont know how many songs there are on this album Hotel Costes: La Suite but anyways, he plays them after one another and to make them fit he changes the BPM). Its not a remix as i said, it's a song taken from the mixtape "Hotel Costes: La Suite". It's the original "Mr Scruff- Get a mov eon" but higher BPM to fit in his mixtape. if you listen to the previous song or the next you will hear the same BPM

  • @dubkulture Oh, I wasn't aware that it was part of a mix. Makes more sense then. Thanks.

  • @lillesvin Sped up increased the pitch, the song sounds incorrect.

  • @lillesvin i can hear a difference

much more compressor on the beat here imo...

  • @ConductiveDan That's probably compression from the mixing process. Doesn't really make it a remix though.

  • @lillesvin Listen to the original from Moondog (CD 'Pax Sac for A Sax'). On thís remix, you can here voice and various additional instruments (trumpet solo, drums and others). For me, this remix would be nice, however, the 'techno drums' are ruining it completely.

  • @GeorgScholz Oh, I know the original. The thing is that Mr. Scruff sampled Bird's Lament in Get a Move On and this is Stephane Pompougnac's (re)mix of the Mr. Scruff song. I know the original (Bird's Lament) very well, but we were talking about the differences (or lack thereof) between Mr. Scruff's version and Stephane Pompougnac's version.

(By the way, the album is called Sax Pax for a Sax.)

  • @lillesvin best top rated comment ever!

  • @lillesvin Are we listening to the same songs? There is quite a large difference between the original Moondog song and this version.

  • @breedapart51229 Yes, there is indeed. :) We're talking about the difference between this version and Mr. Scruff's version (aka. Get A Move On) though. As it turns out, this _is_ Mr. Scruff's version, but sped up a little --- nothing more.

  • @sabadashi He MIXED the track, like it says on the cover, dumbass.

  • @BludRedDragon right, my bad!

  • @sabadashi lool

  • @BludRedDragon A bit harsh on him there? Dumbass.

  • @Hernstein2783

  • Sexy sound!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • whats the name of this genre please?! Or where can I find more of these beautiful sunset-in-the-field-with-my-bike-music?

  • @drovecity For very similar music you can start by exploring the Ninjatune and 6 Degrees Records label catalogs. That's a great start. Mr Scruff here is a ninja. Also try Karminsky Experience Inc.

  • It's funny how I didn't like music like this, yet I like it a lot since I discovered it. I like how there are few lyrics as I tend to focus better when working. Plus it's catchy.

  • I've been to see Mr Scruff play twice, and at both gigs when he dropped this sweet little nugget the whole dancefloor went wild!

  • whwere can i get this mix of this song?

  • @gymnast11sophman Stephane Pompougnac mixed this song. You can get it from Hotel Costes: La Suite album. La Suite is equivalent to volume 2. :)

  • @gymnast11sophman Just buy the album 'Keep it unreal', There are lots of other great tracks on there. And guess who chose this track on 'Desert Island Discs'? Victoria Wood. Not just a comedy genius - she has great taste in music as well.

  • @gymnast11sophman youtube to mp3 converter.

  • Those 9 people need to Get a Move on, or they'll be left behind

  • hach, wie ich das teil lieebe..

  • im really diggin this right here.....

  • such a great song :) <3

  • Has any one seen my other sock?

  • omg this is sweet stuff!

  • This is a bit of a classic now that it's been used on umpteen comercails. I think that, although it brought it to a wider audience, it diminshed what is a stylish peice of art,

  • i love the way the song is mixed making you think of the 1940s with speak easies & prohibition and secret clubs at its height.

  • brilliant!

  • fucking brilliant

  • jami jami back to god times respect

  • ...and yet it sounds so much better than most of the tripe from today!

  • I can't get out of my head a montage of robber barons moving from unspoiled wilderness to unspoiled wilderness with angry environmentalists chasing close behind, cut in with scenes of their rich Paris-hiltonesque daughters break-dancing and doing coke in Limousines like Miss Kittin.

  • @hymnofashes I had some weed like that myself, once.

  • thats because the song was used for a luxury car commercial a decade ago...i haven't heard this song in years, im so happy i found it!

  • @hymnofashes all YouTube comments should be this vivid.

  • @hymnofashes Haven't really thought of that, but.... Yes, definitely :-D

  • you gotta keep movin, or you be left behind!

  • i love how even the CD version has a slight vinyl feel to it... a slight "crap" factor about the recording almost as though it has been deliberatly stripped of high and low frequencies - very mid-band sounding i love it. Old fashioned sound to a modern recording.

  • Listen to Waldeck's "Make My Day" or "Midsummer Night Blues" or even "Aquarius". Also Rubin Steiner "Lo-Fi Nu Jazz #13" among other Rubin Steiner tracks on his albumn "Lo-Fi Nu Jazz vol 2". xxxGOLDxxx
