Most of what the Author found out came from oral recollections of some of his family members. True or Not, it's still a bloody movie and it covers a time period long gone. Part of getting over something is the ability to laugh at it. Like i said, it's not serious, it's a clip from a movie with a Devo song playing over it, lighten up.  If you don't like it, don't watch.

@zelda75231 Don't take it so seriously. I find this videoclip hilarious. Not because the black man is being whipped, but because a very serious movie is overdubbed by such crazy music. It's terrible things like this happened for real in the past (and still happen in the present). I don't like people suffering. Unfortunately bad things happen in the world. But if we're not allowed to make jokes about it, life gets much harder.
