Have you tried play with the "complete" mod? You need to patch the game; could you tell me because I don't know how to?

@iluvalima I play this game with just the Complete mod, it brings the game up to date on so many levels (graphics, sound, AI, bugfixes, etc), but does not change the game, add items, take away items, change spawns, change difficulty or anything like most mods do. This I applaud.

@iluvalima Just look for patch 1.005 on google, download and install, it won't hurt if you already have 1.005. If you have the Steam version it is probable already 1.005. Then just download the Complete Mod exe and it will install itself.

In the rookie village you can find 7 medpacks 4 or 5 cans 11 bandages a mercenary armor 2 artifacts and 1 bread and 2 cans of soda also 1 or 2 vodka bottles :)

ah Wolf ... it was sad when he disapears further in the game but i did find him i thought id never see him again but .. he was dead with 2 other stalkers that were alive i drag'd his body all the way to "Duty" HQ he deserved a good resting place :(

@Kilithaza I can only agree. Ive never seen better weather effects in a game and i´ve seen loads of games. The rain is awesome, dawn is even greater and the textures very good! I can only say that if you have the game, played the Oblivion Lost mod before (does not work together with complete09) then download the mod and enjoy great graphics. Me as i am a total graphics fanatic loved it!

I always play the stalker games on master. It makes the start pretty hard because the only way to get by is to go for those so-called impossible pistol headshots from more than 20 feet away

well, there are a lot of new guns, but at the same time there are about 20 skins for each type of ak.

They actually changed some things in ObLost that made it less realistic then it was before. For example, they changed the Groza's mag size from 20 to 30, which in real life the Groza's mag IS 20 rounds.

ObLost is good, but hard, and has some pros and some big-ish cons.

what does aresenal do? It seems to be hard to find certain stalker mods since there are so many to sift through on websites

are there any other mods I *need to play this game? or is it fine just vanilla?

also does sighting significantly improve your accuracy? i find it gets in the way of your screen after a shot, so I usually just sight for a long range headshot then close and just hipfire

i assume its a lot more useful with say a rifle? where headshots are actually pretty damaging?

Just get oblivion lost 2.2 it has improved monsters spawns and regular AI. It also gives you a few more guns and blowouts. It is a mod for stalker SHoC

Arsenal adds a slew of new weapons, mostly 5.56 since they're easiest to find models for.

Iron-sights don't seem to do much for accuracy in the vanilla game, which is why the crosshair is so helpful. I don't even bother using them unless the weapon has a scope.

As for OL, I don't recommend it for 2 reasons. One, I have severe beef with the author. Two, I disagree with a multitude of the design choices, including the increased mutant spawns which just go way too far.

My mod recommendations are either:

PLR's Realistic Weapons, which is probably the best (vanilla) weapon balance mod available.

Supermod Pack, which somewhat balances out OL and AMK, while adding all arsenal weapons. Also has pretty good ballistics.

STALKER Redux, which rebalances the entire game fairly well. It only works with patch 1.0004, however.

STALKER Rebalanced, which balances everything but the weapons (and adds a few).
