Fuliginosus, you should see Idomeneo smashing chairs in the current show in brussels! It is a great play and i love the scenery in this one in Salzburg!
so how did you like Idomeneo the other night? Didn't you think that Idamante was a bit insufficiant?? I 'm thinking of going to Medea one of these days..
Idomeneo is such a great opera, I love the choruses especially. I can almost hear Rossini and Verdi in them. Forget about the staging, If you don't find it to your liking. I rather like it anyway.
Isn't this chorus just glorious? Once you've heard it you just can't get it out of your head. It's just so peaceful, and it fits the action so well. One of my very favourtie moments of all opera.
O, never mind the troll, mate. This is surely the double account of that Heraopera troll who is going around making comments like that on all clips of Anja Harteros on Youtube. I'm blocking this account as well, tho it might just resurface under another pseudonym. What a sorry waste of DNA that lady is. I'm letting the comments stand, tho. They reflects more on Heraopera/lamusicahera than on the artist(s) she tries to spit on.

She is not able to use the correct legatobut she named herself "bella voce"!La Frittoli e un soprano vero per il Mozart!& C. Vaness! A.H. knows how to get into connect. u will never have ideas about this ugly woman & lyric soprano, She is able to get into relations only for her career! & she is half greek not able to speak this language! By the way her german is also underclass - for a person named bella voce...Viva la B.F.! Viva la Vaness & go home to Mr. old W. K. -pleaaase....
Frau Harteros will forgive me for not erasing this totally tasteless comment by Heraopera. Trolls' comment are the best evidence of their troll-iness. Though she can rest assure that one Heraopera will no longer be commenting on my youtube clips since s/he has now earned the Block.
And may Ms Vaness have the luck to not be associated with more of such a vicious fan either.
Wow... Barbara Frittoli would be proud of you... if only she isn't a nice gal that she is. What a disservice you do to Frittoli going around mouthing off at her colleague as if Frittoli can't be praised on her own merit, but only at the expense of other singers.
Herteros is so divine. It is a luscious, creamy instrument. Why is she not Prima Donna Assuluta at the Met or Covent Garden? Netrebko has stolen the career which rightly belongs to Herteros.
She is divine indeed! :o) And is a very big star on the international scene.
There's plenty of room for Harteros and other soprani like Netrebko at the top, I think. AH is quite busy in Munich and Vienna (both pay more than the Met). I bet these gals don't mind sharing the work load. Can't be everywhere at once and have to go home sometimes, ya' know? :o)
Oooh, I'm afraid I don't, mate. She's quite good as Cherubino in the M22 'Figaro', though. :o) I'm curious to hear her as Donna Anna, too... But right now I'd do almost anything to get that clip of her singing Schoenberg's Pierre Lunaire out of my head! She's good, but the music bugs me! ;oP
I sang it in Feb in a programme of Schoenberg and Weill. Was lots of fun to sing, cause I could use the countertenor and the tenor in the lower phrases. Good luck!
Ah, gorgeous chorus...sang at a freshman in music school...and Harteros really is a fine Mozartienne...elegant singing.

I think it's the music that fires people up with rage and spite. After listening to this chorus I want to start smashing furniture!

She is no BArbara Frittoli. She sings out of tune way too often. She looks so ugly and makes some awful faces when she sings.
