  • I saw you was ignoring the kick drum and mostly reacting on the snare a lot which looks annoying.

also don't react on every melody (or a beat kill moment? :D) everytime...If you'll do that you might loose the excitement of the audience after a while and eventually loose the beat.

I hope you understand what I'm trying to say and KEEP IT UP!! :)

  • straight up - train your pop, let us see some real popping progression, or you might as well call it dancing progession

  • do it with pop! bam!!! hit the pops!

  • Foundation is the basis for all movement. Without it style can not exist. Being able to move naturally and dance at the most basic rhythm of 1,2,3,4.. So important but so lacking in a lot of people that start learning. Having good solid movement between angles and levels is a must because it's what shows control of movement and understanding of self. The hit is what makes popping what it is, but it's also one part of the equation. Being able to move as a popper, and hit as popper.. Get it..

  • you should always hit as strong as when you do @ 1:36

also remember to use pop in different ways, try to do double pop, use your muscles to isolate your body and pop single parts of your body.

Sometimes it's good to hit with your chest only. Musicality is the key to any style, but foundations are also. You hear sounds, do nice moves but ofcourse you have alot of things to work on (as I do also, btw).

Stay consistent and keep your hit strong all the time.

  • You said you've been popping for only 3 months? This is really fast it took me like 6 months just to get akward hits down lol.

advice though would be if you want those cleaner angles, and groove, try to focus on that one style you really want to learn first when you practice. lets say if you want a better groove in a wave based style just practice going with the back beats doin waving, feel loose don't restrict yourself. Then if you get a hang of that "then add" a new style to incorporate toit.

  • good job i enjoyed your grooving however i think you should a lil harder but that comes with time good job will keep it up brotha

  • You get better everytime i see the episodes. You try to play with basics and it's the best way to be comfortable with it and to get your own codes. Now, this, is a demo of a freestyle of popping, so you need to test your musicality, your technique, and your groove. When you're at training, be repetitive with the angles, and try to pop in any positions. Because, in your demo, your hits are too soft yet. Peace.

  • your improvement is so much!

not only have you slowed things down and felt the groove!

but you have managed to make just the basic steps look better than all the stuff you did last month!

if there's one thing you need to work on for now, it would be to just use more variety within the styles of popping... for example.. scarecrow, puppet style, ticking

    KEEP IT UP! ;)

  • I'm gonna be honest. Anyone who says the groove is good, doesn't have a solid eye for popping. You're not at the point of developing groove yet. Basic basic basic. Only hit the kick drum and clap... the strict beat. Set your foundation, then start building on top of it with more groove ONLY once you're comfortable. THEN begin adding musicality.

  • Very nice angles and nice groove tho good pops and keep getting Down

  • don't hit too much in your legs. Try to hit more with your upper body, because there will be moments when trying to hit while moving around, and you wont be able to hit with your lower body. Theres awkward moments in this video where you hit with your legs, but its obvious that ure just jerking your legs, and ure arms stay stationary. but yea, hit you're arms, and it will make the dance seem alot sharper. the groove is good though, you got that funk.

  • quoting from all of my popping teachers - POP is the most important fundamental skill for popping. it's great to see your progression in freestyle, but it'll also be nice if you can share some of your popping drills (knee pop, arm pop, neck pop, chest pop, head pop, etc.) in the next episode. ^_^ overall, good job will!! makes me feel bad that i haven't practiced for a long time! let's practice together soon!!

  • You're not engaging your hips when you hit your legs, which is part the reason you look stiff and bounce up and down when you hit. Also you're focusing too much on trying to "hit musicality" when you really need to step back and start with getting comfortable of the flow of hitting each beat. Each beat meaning 1,2,3,4. That's it. Your movements are also lacking the sharpness and clarity that they require. You're still moving too timidly. ATTACK your movements, put some umph behind them.

  • big improvements. try making your hip or leg rolls a bit bigger and smoother so they can have a bigger impact on the dance overall. keep working on stronger pops. good luck on your popping journey!

  • Just watched videos 1-3, well done Will! Great series, makes me want to record myself and see my progress. I see you're using most of your body which is good! I would suggest using more head movements, such as fakeouts, neck-o-flexs, or fixed point. Keep em guessin! Keep it up!

  • Love the progress and the series keep up the good work very insperational and I think it helps out other poppers aswell to work on there own fundimentals. I would like to see some boogaloo

  • Good job, man. In my opinion, you can try to hit and stop at the sound "bak", that technique is very good for you at the beginning.
