I sounds to me that in this recent tour, if gilmour had a separate drive pedal, then the drive/gain on hi pre was set too high giving the tone a kind of scratchy sound

It's a Digitech WH-1 Whammy pedal set to 1 octave up. Same setting is also used for the Pink Floyd instrumental "Marooned"

It's a very good, reliable pedal and worth adding to your rig
