Post-Durban, India has its task cut out
.
New Delhi needs to proactively help lead the way to an early global climate agreement, as it will put the brakes on developed-country emissions sooner rather than later. Driven by its over-emphasis on evading a “legally binding” commitment, India signed on at Durban to a key agreement that has not even a pro forma reference to equity.
Gore started by saying he opposes big centralized government controlled distribution of electricity, while pushing for big over-reaching government control of EVERYTHING by taxing hot air!
@channelhismojo : Australia just passed a climate bill which taxes big emitters and reduces income tax for 90% of Australian workers by an average A$300 per year.
I´ll rather tax pollution than creation of added value (work). Taxing negative effects will ALWAYS be superior to taxing work.
When Gore and Bush had their election I wanted Gore to win so bad. I now thank god that he didn't because this guy would send the country into the dark ages.
al gore is BIG. a big blowhard, a big businessman, was a big politician. He's the problem, not the solution. He's a big money sucking machine like all things that are too big.

Hi, I'm Al Gore and my personal house consumes more energy than ten average house holds. I fly around in my private jet to tell people to buy Mac Books and label themselves as "going green" because it's trendy.
@declodays - that house thing is very old. it was fixed long ago. and we see it's up to "ten" now instead of 3. As for using a jet.. which politicians do not? bush sr. & bush jr. & mcCain & clinton used them on holidays as well. "Trendy" - he's been devoting half of his life to this- since over 30 years ago. We laughed about 'his' (their) water level assumptions (and found out that he/they were off by some footage) but still the message is the same. poison in the air & water =bad.
@declodays : Hi - "I am an American and believe that if one person is a hypocrit and doesn´t do the right thing - it´s okay for everybody to do the same" - as you might know (i) morale is relative and it´s "though shall kill less than others. Also (ii) as an uneducated American, I believe the hypocracy of one single person invalidates scientific theories which have been proven by accurate measurements.
if al gore really believed in anything he was saying, then he would live by his own example
he's not, which is a clue that he doesn't support or believe in his own propaganda
now if the leader of the movement ignores the policy, then its easy to conclude that there are other reasons for going green other than "saving the planet"
As far as the global warming propaganda/theory man has little to do with that. Changes in Earth's axis/orbit etc have a bigger impact, it got into an ice age without man, and got out of an ice age without man. Even if the earth burns up and Al Gore's doomsday prophecy comes true, human's can't get along and that's a bigger concern than global warming.
@declodays : So you REALLY think scientists have not looked at possible astronomic causes (celestial mechanics) ??? You really think that this tim, changes in earth axis/orbit are at play and NONE of the thousands of astronomers would have noticed that?
Do you just know how crazy what you are implying is ????
PS: The "doomsday prophecy" (how you call it - I use the term "reality") is catching up and by 2016-2020 the North Pole will be ice free.
@Luisrah So Russia was and China is moneyless, classless, stateless? You are in no way describing communism, you have a utopian ideal and wish that's what communism could be.
@tsarautocrat No and no. Russia and China were never communist. Communism has never existed in the world except in very small communities. The only thing that arguably existed and exists is socialism, which is what's before communism. Communism can only come after the workers revolts against the bourgeoisie, rule themselves, use technology to help them automatize industry (for example) and when we can satisfy everyone's needs. So communism never happened yet. And China isn't even socialist.
@Luisrah It's never existed(in your utopian dream sense) EVER, anywhere. Do you actually believe that claptrap about workers revolting, satisfying everyone's needs, all living happily ever after? You must be putting me on.
@tsarautocrat Yes it has existed in some forms. The bourgeoisie explores the workers. Everything is directed to companies making profit. If the workers revolt and rule in their own interests, then no action would be taken that doesn't help the biggest part of the population. Wether you believe in it or not, things like lower taxes and higher salaries for the poor, less work hours, completely free education and healthcare for everyone are some of the things that socialism brings.
@Luisrah Nothing in this life is free. Your "free" education and healthcare are the result of massive taxes, so that those who have more have to pay for those who don't. You can't have lower taxes and fund huge government social programs, nor can you work less hours and pay those burdensome entitlement taxes.
@tsarautocrat Yes you can. If banks and important companies are public instead of private than the profits go to the state instead of going to a few rich people. That money can be used to serve the people. And what would be the problem of paying high taxes if you can have free education and health. Heck, what would be the problem of not recieving a salary if you could get the food you need, the medicine you need and everything you need to live a good life? That's communism.
@Luisrah No it's simply utopian foolishness. There is NO way to trust the state to own everything and not be corrupt. Also, no system can operate without some medium of exchange. How would you receive what you need? You'd have to ask someone, which means they, not you would be making the decision on whether your request was too big, too small, or just right. Say someone wants/needs more than you, how do you keep that fair?
@purduecrew177 That is the stupidest comment I've read today. Distributed energy generation = communism??? For your information, communism (as you know and define it) REQUIRED central command and power. Distributing anything would have dissolved the authoritarianism they counted on.

Do the words job creation have any effect on you at all, because the last time I checked, when more people have jobs, Bill Clinton created 27 Million jobs, the more money is focused into the economy and the more moey is distributed everywhere. More jobs stimulate the economy. And "then" was not so long ago.
Meh, Clinton did some good things and some bad things. Really, I still think he was a bad president because of the way he ran his private life. I mean, getting blowjobs in the oval office, for Christ's sakes, draw the line somewhere. Economically, he was pretty decent, but militaristically, he was terrible. He hardly responded to any threat, and when he actually did take military action it always embarrassed the US. Take the incident in Mogadishu for example.
@Cerberus664 get your facts straight before you make accusations. For example Clinton did more to stop Osama than the bush administration did. When he was in office he was critized for being TOO aggresive in his hunt for Osama. When bush administration came to power he gave them advice and strategy on how to catch him. The bush administration cut down the efforts
Oh, what a coincidence, the "major institutions" you named are all part of the IPCC!!! A Intergovernmental committee created to "study" the Climate Change!!! Fortunately, i have the chance to think by myself. Unfortunately, I can´t understand how people like Al Gore can lie so blatantly. Why is it "an inconvenient truth", if exists such consensus?

THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH, I hate it, that people think Al Gore is some smart scientist. That much money can make a (weak) man (woman) like Al Gore to lie.
In an open letter to Canad's Prime Minister Stephen Harper, sixty scientists call on Harper to revisit the science of global warming. Some of the signers: Dr. Richard S. Courtney, climate and atmospheric science consultant, IPCC expert reviewer, U.K.
Dr. Wibjorn Karlen, emeritus professor, Dept. of Physical Geography and Quaternary Geology, Stockholm University, Sweden

The fact is that there is no scientific consensus. That is an incredible big lie. Anyway, your nickname tell me that I won´t have the chance to mantain a constructive debate with you, because you dont want to do it. You are here only to make propaganda and not to discuss the subject...
Royal Meteorological Society members Professors Paul Hardaker and Chris Collier have criticised peers who "overplay" the global warming message. The pair placed the highly respected American Association for the Advancement of Science at the centre of their criticism. Professor Hardaker said: "There's no evidence to show we're all due for very short-term devastating impacts as a result of global warming, so I think these statements can be dangerous."
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Please, give a couple of these "major institutions", because, every link you gave me was based on the IPCC, an institution formed with the only goal to present how global warming will affect us, it is not serious...
"I have no doubt that global — that a trend of global warming exists," Griffin told National Public Radio's Morning Edition. "I am not sure that it is fair to say that it is a problem we must wrestle with." THIS is NASA´S CHIEF position. Is this the consense you mentioned?
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
"NASA's top administrator, Michael Griffin, speaking on NPR radio made some refreshingly sensible comments about the present global warming scare," said Robert Ferguson, Director of the Science and Public Policy Institute. "Many rationalist scientists agree with him, clearly demonstrating there is no scientific consensus on man-made, catastrophic global warming," said Ferguson.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Dr. Tim Ball, a Canadian climatologist, responded: "Griffin's statement is sensible because it allows time for the testing of the man-made global warming hypothesis to continue as it should."
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
"I certainly support Griffin's comments," said William Kininmonth, a former head of the Australian National Climate Centre. "Not only is it speculative to claim that humans can in any way influence the course of climate but it is arrogant to suggest that today's climate is getting worse than it has been in the past."
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Finally, Harvard University physicist Lubos Motl praised Griffin's climate comments, calling them "sensible." On his public blog, Motl said he applauds Michael Griffin and encourages him to act as "a self-confident boss of a highly prestigious institution." "I have always believed that the people who actually work with hard sciences and technology simply shouldn't buy a cheap and soft pseudoscientific propaganda such as the 'fight against climate change,'" Motl added.
"NASA Chief Questions Whether Global Warming Is a Problem" (Foxnews). I think that´s something, isnt it?
Actually, the global warming IS occurring, the problem is that the men influence is not as important as u want us to see it. The debate is good for the science, and i dont understand why are u so affraid of it, unless you have other interests. The cience consensus is a lie repeated and repeated by the pseudo-ecologists, trying to conviced the ignorants. A Göbbels' tactic.
It is also based on the IPCC inform and it is not serious. The confrontation of ideas is the base of the cience development, and you dont accept other ideas, saying at the same time that there is a global consense about the idea of global climate, and this is no true.
Al Gore knows what is goin' on. He has been researching GW for over 30 years. No joke.

Heres a question, are we talking about Bill Clinton or all Gore and his bogus enviormental policy?
angelmarine1292 3 years ago
Either one becuase they have the same Environmental stance and were both influential as Pres and VP during the 90s for the economy.

Cerberus664 3 years ago

According to Vladimir Shaidurov of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the apparent rise in average global temperature recorded by scientists over the last hundred years or so could be due to atmospheric changes that are not connected to human emissions of carbon dioxide from the burning of natural gas and oil

"NASA's top administrator, Michael Griffin, speaking on NPR radio made some refreshingly sensible comments about the present global warming scare," said Robert Ferguson, Director of the Science and Public Policy Institute. "Many rationalist scientists agree with him, clearly demonstrating there is no scientific consensus on man-made, catastrophic global warming," said Ferguson.

Dr. Tim Ball, a Canadian climatologist, responded: "Griffin's statement is sensible because it allows time for the testing of the man-made global warming hypothesis to continue as it should."

"I certainly support Griffin's comments," said William Kininmonth, a former head of the Australian National Climate Centre. "Not only is it speculative to claim that humans can in any way influence the course of climate but it is arrogant to suggest that today's climate is getting worse than it has been in the past."

Al Gore is my sheperd
He is only aware of what he wants
He makes me lie down on park benches outside his mansion
He leads me beside the polluted water of his strip mine
He restores my doubt in brain dead politicians
He leads me in the path of Kyoto for his legacy sake
His lies make children sleepless
Though I walk dark in my house his 4 are lit like Vegas
Surely his lust for power will follow me all the days of my life
And I will see votes held to the light on thanksgiving forever
