IAF wouldn't be able defeat the USAF by itself. But if you combine the Russian and the Indian AF... there is a high possibility the coalition would win. Mainly coz of the vast number of planes in Asia vs the few top-trained pilots from America.
Besides that point... India... is building a superior Air Force... but thats not going for against America or Russia or China. The Sukhois... the Jags... the MiGs.... the LCAs... the best defenses we need. Its all against you know who
