  • this has to be one of my favorite beats all tiiiime naga!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @17DM thank you...i was arguin back n forth with a cat tellin just that...basicaly...BATTLECAT BETTER

  • lol theyre watching jackass

  • classic pioneer !!!

  • I agree Dre is not as soulful at Cat & Quick, but Dre has a cleaner sound....imo Dre has the most polished sounding tracks in hiphop.

  • @knansd Dre is a composer. He might do some drums on the MPC. But he's a conductor and a composer. Not a producer. He uses producers like Storch, Mel-Man, Yella or whoever his apprentice/partner is at the time to do keys and shit. Most of the beats he's credited for he didn't do. Remember Ain't No Fun from Doggystyle? Warren G and Daz did that beat. Dre just tells people what to do.

  • @ChronicGod420 so what you mean is that Dr Dre IS a producer and not a composer.

A producer is the one who will have creative control and manage the things involved with the creation of a piece of work. What Battlecat is doing in this video is piecing together and composing a beat. Dre would "produce" a piece of work by helping the beat makers, the rappers, etc.

  • @jamielrallen No, I mean that Dre is a conductor. He may control the process, but none is from his head. He had his crew start jamming and shit and they'll come up with something, and Dre will tell them how to improve it. He doesn't come up with it. It's like in band or orchestra. You get a piece of music and you learn it. Then the director makes it sound better. He didn't compose the rhythms, but he refined the piece and made it sound good.

  • @ChronicGod420 I feel ya. In a way that is exactly what a producer will do. There is a big misconception about what producers do amongst the rap community because a lot of beat makers also are producers. I don't know what he really did or didn't do, but what you are describing sounds like what I get hired to do sometimes. I just come in, and work with bands, musicians, artists and tell them how to "make it better", make it more "like this" or "like that". so Dre didn't do much beat making?

  • @jamielrallen A producer is a beat maker, but a beat maker who knows how to control the creative process and knows the equipment and technology side to it. The role you described is that of a conductor. I believe it's an important role, but it's not production. It's helping the production and making it what work.

  • @ChronicGod420

Producers have many different jobs, but trust me. It is NOT someone who just makes beats. Otherwise I wouldn't be known as a producer, because I don't just make beats. But I am a studio producer and a entertainment performance producer. I DO make beats sometimes. If producers were only beat makers, then they would strictly be limited to working with beats... but they aren't. Because producers make movies, work on plays, etc.

  • @ChronicGod420 look up the definition of "Record Producer", because that is what these guys work in the record industry.

  • @ChronicGod420 Daz did a SHITLOAD of beats that DRE got credit for around '93-94

  • @BlkPapi4U Dre stole shit from everyone. He said the he did the beat for Got My Mind Made Up, he was credited with the California Love remix, which Laylaw actually produced, but that was Suge's fault. He even took credit for some Warren G's shit and since Warren was his brother, he ain't say shit.

  • @knansd True, Dre has a polishes sound, but he is not a producer, he is a composer lol. Sad, but true. i know one of his session bassist, and all Dre does is craft a loop, a couple of breaks, and the rest is left up th the musicians. now don't get me wrong, its still genius, but he cant do what Battlecat is doing, which is start to finish production. Do I respect Dre? Hell yes.

  • Amplified,Battlecat,Dr.Dre

Best Producers alive for me !

the song : George Clinton - RealTalk producer by amplified the song is hot !

  • He put that touch on it at about 3:50 that's just plain ridiculous! Love it!

  • Those 7 Dislikes are: Timbaland, Swiss Beats, Diddy, Darkchild, Jermaine Dupri, Cool & Dre and Kanye West. A Part of them has admited that they are nothing to Battlecat but can't live with that. And the others like J.R Rotem etc. just don't saw that video and acting like there is no battlecat. AND battlecat, dr.dre, and dj quik have decided that they will never make a beat together, because the world-beat-trade would go down and the world would explode.

  • ooooooooooooooh mannnnnnnnnnn battlecat, dre, dj khalil, dj quik, j dilla, ....thee best best

  • I love these kinda videos! Makin of tracks is the best feeling. Ya'll seen the Jay-Z 'Dort off your shoulder' one? Timbo kills tat shit!

  • @SupermanJohnnyBoy VERY true

  • @SupermanJohnnyBoy Dre is a fuckin bitch...G-Funk all day

  • @PLOTLAKER5 respect to dre but i think as far as the sequencing, track layering and progression wise he's beats sounds a bit boring and loopy than battlecat.

  • @YungReach Dre's style is more east coast than west coast imo, his G-Funk shit was West West but his 2001 style was more NY style, maybe cuz he was workin with people like Rakim

  • @PLOTLAKER5 Ha sometimes I think I'm good enough to be a producer....but this muthafuka ALWAYS brings me back down to earth!!!

  • this is real gangster shit this is how we niggas do man all the time dammn this is crazy

  • what kind of motif is that?

i got a ton of samples motif sounds but they dont sound like that =/

  • samples are good, but if you want your sound to be better, you need to have the best hardware, there is no secret

  • I can make my shit sound awsome without hardware. Sure the Motif is a classic but no one can say its the best, thats all in ones taste man!

Anyway that wasnt my question i wanted to know what Motif Battlecat is using there.

  • motif es6

  • es. he also got plenty of racks tho

  • This song is go hard

  • god i want that bass so bad!!!

    its the fattest sample ever

  • I know

if u find it let me know

I love that bass at 1:48

  • whoever says hip-hop/gangster rap is fucking simple and takes no talent better step the fuck back, battlecat, quik, dre to name a very small few know their shit

  • Not true. Just like every genre of music, there are those with true musicianship (like Battlecat or Marty Friedman if you will) and a genuine feel for his/her respective genre. Battlecat incorporates some pretty interesting and not so easy to recognize gospel/funk chords and music theory.

Just like making metal, funk, pop, hiphop or any other genre of music, EVERYBODY CAN DO IT (i.e. Jonas Brothers or T-Pain and the rest of the autotune brigade), but not everyone can do it WELL.

  • correction-everybody can make RAP. Very few can make hip hop. Compared to the numbers of people that try and DON't get it right. Hip Hop is a culture, that is done wrong, ain't hip hop any more. Now that SoljaBoy shit, now that's rap.

  • i think metal is fucking simple. i fuck with all kinds of music. i used to play a ton of metal. metal (to me) is barney shit.

funk is cool. Pop? wtf? thats gay dude.

"look at the millions of untalented beatmakers"

dude look at the millions of nobody guitarist and drummers going from band to band neither one of em going anywhere.

i dont think you know what you're talking about.

    peace anyways.

  • LOL nobody gives a fuck about ur opinion

wrote a long ass comment 4 nothing

  • yeah and grunting (metal) into a microphone is simple, i could even get a lion to do it. hip hop is just as talented as any other genre of music.

  • Amen brother, everyone you mentioned is a fucking musical genius, up there with Mozart and Beethoven

  • If you likes dat smooth shit Check out Limotint Vegas Trip On I-tunes

  • he is the best producer man ..his hands are soul and funkfull

  • him and dre best producers of all time

  • BATTLE CAT DOES HIS THING MAN

  • that west coast beats be sounding smooth man

  • good sh!t

  • holy shit!

  • loced out cuz battle holla at yo boy

  • Monster in production...

    My englis its not good..

Abrazos man,,,, eres un genio.. saludos deesde Ecuador..

  • BADAZZ

  • yeah this is prolly one of battle cats classics...i found tha instrumental on youtube i bang that joint every day

  • I dont understand why 50 and cat dont hook up his sound and 50 swag would kill the game right now, cats beatz bring out that 50 we been missing.

  • wat 50 be missin is STREET CREDIBILITY how could a snitch nigga a mainstream-beef hugry rapper go at it wit real G's lik Game when his fake-azz crew's "g-unot" main single wuz i like the way she do it, nigga even white folks say that shit is a discrace to hip hop no different from soulja boy crap, if 50 thinks he's comin back he should put Power Of The Dollar input into his new shit

  • Straight West Coast!!!

  • DPG is back on a map, West Coast finest, killer beat. Cat, keep it up bringing us more classics like this.

  • Battlecat....Nigga I am lost for words. That beat is going to forever be a instant classic.

  • yo man! i'm brazilense and you it's monster in production and all respect, i'm group "KILLATROZ" OF SÃO PAULO, i like much of beats of L.A, I'm Fan veredict, CRIP'S, Peace man!!!

  • Serious track

  • what keyboard is good for baseline beside the moog?

is there a cheap rack with sum good analog basses

  • Get a Korg EA they can do alot

  • what keyboard is he using is it a yamaha motif?

  • what keyboard he uses fot the bass does someone know?

  • damn he five months

  • i love that joint cali iz active

  • I love the west cuh..this shit make you wanna mad dogg every nigga you see..fa nothin!

  • dre, cat and quik are keepin the west coast production game alive, new comers like terrance martin, jelly roll, fred wreck, focus, and cant forget meech wells are trying keep the torch lit. just my opinion

  • this is a monster production!!!DJ BATTLECATtttttttttt

  • Dj Quik is better than Cat check out his basslines!!!

  • cat>>>dr dre.

and this is coming from a hardcore dre fan.

dre dont make his on shit, and he aint consistent, and quite honestly dre be making some wack ass shit.

im not sure who's better battlecat or dj quik

  • common dre laid the foundations for west coast producers. dude = goat. nwa, chronic, doggystyle, 2001, doc etc that shit = classic. sayin that battlecat is fuckin crazy

  • Don't forget World Class Wreckin Cru and all that true foundation 808 Egyptian Lover shit

  • thatz a hard one quik is better with with that smooth slow stuff and cat is good with that bangin' g ish

both are sick and underated tho

  • Cat is one of tha best producers outta tha west hands down

  • Battlecat>>>
