Oh and notice how the engine goes in after the paints gone on? It ensures that the engine bay and spare wheel well are painted, not just the outside. BMW reports they save 100 million a year by skipping that step... German quality?

@rsclutch1990 Engine (as everything else) always goes in after painting. Painting the interior of the spare wheel well is unnecessary, but it's given a bit of paint spray as you have to paint the boot interior (or the customer will get suspicious). Painting the firewall behind the engine is not also not necessary, and the customer will not notice anything. Remember, the entire body is given a base paint when dipped, enough for all protected and unseen surfaces.

Bmw's attitude is simply a reflection on their whole outlook on manufacturing "lets just do whats necessary, it's a BMW anyway, people will buy it" and is also e reason why their sales are falling and Audi is on track to being number 1 by 2013

BMW sales (in the US) increased the first half of 2010 and they sell more than twice (100k vs 48k) as many cars as Audi, it'll take alot to reach BMW's status, particulary if the Bavarians keep having the most satisfied (and loudmouthed) owners in the premium segment :)

I hope most other people dont like them or think they're boing, because if everybody starts liking them, then they won't be as special and be common like a BMW or Lexus. Я работал на конвейере, хоть и не на Ауди. Там такой темп, что не до нежностей - если вклеивают стекло, то по нему дубасят присосками с очень приличной силой. И так почти со всеми операциями.
