  • This is one my all time favorites tunes - it is a really beautiful tune. Love your playing!! You are very talented - the piano arrangement is perfect - I love original arrangements like this one from original sheet music from the early 30's. My only comment is that your piano needs tuning. LOve you videos.

  • @bigcity233 Thanks for Your much appreciated words. Got it tuned in the meantime - and regret it in a way, cause the sound is THAT different...

Happy Holidays from here to You.

  • I love your playing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @ftl39boi THANK YOU.

  • @augustomariante A heartfelt thank YOU, Augusto, for enjoying this one and Your kind words. It sure is a special aura surrounding so many great tunes from that era.

    Best to You from germany

  • i enjoyed hearing you play this great 1930s classic! You sight read very well. I have the original sheet music and you are playing the original arrangement from the early thirties ! Alot of talent there! Thanks for the post.

  • @2reeler Thank You for the appreciation, 2reeler. Yes, I love those classics:-)!

  • Hey buddy. Thanks, very much enjoyed your playing!! I discovered this song in a George Shearing book I have and am about to try to learn it. Since I do better to hear something first, I naturally went to YouTube to hear someone play it, and found YOU!!! What a pleasure. Believe I now have an idea of the flavor of the song. Great job!!

  • Hey, thanks very much, singletarybill. Loved this tune from the very first time I played it a long time ago (without having any means of comparison due to the lack of something like the internet back then),

so - yeah - take my playings here and elsewhere on this channel as just giving an individual idea of a possible flavor;-)

  • You will find the Harry James - Dick Haymes on Daily Motion site.

  • This is one fantastic song, and your playing of the music is beautiful.

    Thank you for sharing.

  • Glad You enjoyed it; thanx.

  • The publisher of the beautiful song written by Dana Suesse in 1932 as part of the "Jazz Nocturne" was originallypublished by Carl Schirmer Music Publishing co. in NYC

  • I'd love to get hold of the sheet music, do you know where or how i can obtani it?

  • Played this from an issue of the original US-'Sheet Music'-magazine, but am sure ithe notes can be found on one of the many free sheet music sources on the web nowadays (Maybe some othe net-experts in the community can be of help here?) If not, contact me again...

  • Wow, lucky "US "Sheet Music'- Magazine", we have nothing like that in Australia. I've looked on the web and found nothing, is there anyway you can send me a copy?

  • (Neither do we here in germany:-/)

So contact me via *private* board message with Your e-mail address included.

  • Excellent!!!

  • (Stille Verbeugung;-)!

  • Harry James did a great version of this tune. Wish it was on the Tube.

  • You can get this on "Dailymotion" site. Dick Haymes is the vocalist.

Search for "Sabrina" and you will find it.

  • ytr634.

Harry James version IS on YouTube. Just enter search : "Sabrina. WMY My Silent Love" and you will find it.

  • This melancholy seems to speak! Well done, J.

  • It does - for people like You who know how to listen;-)

    THANX.

  • Thank you, and congratulations for your 100th video.

Besides giving a particular flavor, this song seems to belong to a movie I once saw. I've looked it up on IMDB and the title is shared by a 1949 movie that apparently only lasts 11 minutes. Does the song appear in any other films?

  • Wish I knew, xensboy, sorry:-/

But an interesting fact: 11 minutes?!

Glad to have unearthed THIS tune then;-)

  • Since Paramount Pictures owned the rights, it has been heard under dialogue in dozens of their films, such as 'Sabrina' (1954). Its film debut was as title music for 'Dancers in the Dark' (11 Mar 1932), then Bing Crosby sang it for the titles of 'Blue of the Night' (6 Jan 1933), and in 'Popular Melodies' (Betty Boop, 7 Apr 1933) it was sung by Art Jarrett. A film short of the title was released 22 Apr 1949 starring Jane Pickens.
