It can go either way if it is an insult or not. Personally I use to ask people that I found beautiful what thier heritage was to find out what do you mix to come out with someone so lovely. Then when I started going to Latin clubs I realised that they where trying to figure out how Latin I was and if I was from a county they didn't like. Greetings from Delaware USA

I don't know why anyone would get bent out of shape by the question of her heritage. We are lucky to have so many people of mixed blood and cultures and heritages--it is fascinating. Most people are proud of who they are and enjoy expressing it. It is so uncool to give anyone a hard time simply for expressing a respectful interest in someone's heritage. The haters are so damn boring, anyone agree?
