The only thing that really bugs me are the new ugly grey bars on top of the page... just ruins the whole atmosphere of a channel imo...

I hate the new layout!! Totally sucks. They disable all of you hyper links in the info section as well. Total bull if you ask me. Why cant I link to other pages.. I think they want to hold you here longer so they disabled it. Sheisty bizness if you ask me.

The only criticism that I have of the new layout is the limited color pallet. Although there's a work around, it might not be that accessible to all users. However, I've always been impressed with the web community's ability to meet such drastic change with resilience and tenacity. This latest challenge will only fortify their numbers and prove that once and for all, the messenger's strength lies not in the cosmetic veneer of the vessel, but in the unadorned words and images themselves.

You're right: the Beta is awful. You have such a beautiful channel (as do many others). I shudder to think what will happen to them all. We must at least try to make the new format merely an option.

I agree with you that the look and feel the old design had was better then this one.

transparency was also a good feature which indeed is missing here.

however I can see they used ajax extensively here like google did in all other services, also a auto playback feature is there so you don't have to manually select the next track sort off, also you don't have to specifically goto the design edit page now, but it needs a lot of improvement as well..

also they should not enforce it for now..

You are right about ajax. Only good thing about new layout is the 'inline' channel editing, so you can instantly see how your page looks like. I was trying few things and found few bugs too in new settings. Its does not seem to be ready for 'rollout'
