  • I love the phrase "sound dramas" for his plays! He mourned a culture that was lost after WWI and WWII. The rising sciences of psychology and social sciences could never replace religion for him - I think. He was fortunate that he was able to use the gift of his sensitivity to produce such an array of work (poems, essays, philosophical papers, children's lit, and plays). TSE's poetry communicates the experience of a journey through two world wars - a bard's perspective indeed.
