YES! Heath DOES DISERVE an OSCAR! and he WILL get an OSCAR and if he DOESN'T! which he WILL! i will go CRAZY and kill those MOTHERS!...anyways! ur so weird! lol xD
I think his Joker is better than Jack's (i own many, many Joker comics so i have a good understanding of the character) and looking at previous work by Heath i think he really transformed into the role - nothing, nothing was comparable to his previous roles. I dunno i think Nolan handled the character better than Burton did.
There is no such thing as a "pity" Oscar. If there was then Brandon Lee would have gotten one for The Crow and John Candy would have gotten one for Wagons east and Aliyah would have gotten one for Queen of the damned. Yes people would say Ledger should get an Oscar if he was alive because people love transformation performances like Depp in POTC 1 and DDL in TWBB and Blanchett in I'm not there, Ledger in TDK is a transformation performance(voice, body language, laugh, facial expressions).
yeah Heath does deserve the Oscar. This was one of those films where I was wondering if they were going to show all of the good lines and scenes in the previews, BUT they certainly didn't. There was plenty more great lines from the Joker and tons more action. This is my all-time favorite movie.
True story about things being absent from the previews. There was a fair amount left out of them. In my opinion, the previews were extremely weak, just full of explosions and laughter.
The actual movie IS much better, but that was the point of the video... Just based on previews, which is what most people were making a fuss over, there's nothing special about the performance.
I find it amusing that the term is more offensive to a lot of non-blacks than it is to the person it was meant to offend.
Thanks for the assist white brethren and don't take this the wrong way, but this is one black guy who can stand on his own. I don't need need racial defenders. :]
I don't mind eating my words. I enjoy what I say quite thorougly. Thank you. :] Unfortunately, I'm not hungry enough to do that just yet...
Again with the prematurity, though? Last time I heard, Oscars are being awarded in 2009, and there's still quite a few movies coming out between now and then.
Good performance, still not sure if it's quite Oscar worthy, though. Guess we'll see who eats what when the time comes, huh? :P
he wouldn't be eating his words even if Heath did get an Oscar he just is saying that the only reason Heath would get it is a pity oscar... i'm not saying his performance was bad it was awesome but you guys wouldn't be saying this if heath was dead i mean be honest people
Would be nice if you were to list the leading contenders so far this year for best supporting actor. I sincerly doubt that you will find any so far that is better than his at this point and Robert Downey, Jr's performance in Tropic Thunder is the only other one being mentioned.
You are entitled to your opinion, but please re-edit the video and include your leading canditates so far this year. Good luck finding any.
Okay, missing the point entirely... This video was made when everything in it was the ONLY thing known to the general public about his performance, (sans 6 minute preview where he spoke MAYBE twice). Based on ONLY the things in this footage, it is NOT an oscar worthy performance. It's LESS THAN 10 minutes, and Ledger does NOTHING Oscar worthy in these clips. You need CONTEXT for that.
Again, you're being premature. It hasn't even been half a year since the last Academy Awards.
Must suck that Ledger got it lol. I watched it and he freaked me out. Great performance.

Just my two cents.

Yup, that was one of the many awesome scenes left out of the previews.
Glad you enjoyed the rest of the scene snippets, though!

I'm glad they left the real good stuff out of the previews. I hate when trailers give too much away. *cough Spiderman 3 cough*.

@dlamb1620,
Congrats, you just made yourself look like a complete idiot with your racist bullshit.

Don't worry about him, bug. It's just a word, and only affects those who let it.
Fact is, many of the real niggers have no idea that they are actually niggers, indeed. Dlamb, for example... How ironic, eh? :]

don't care if he's dead. Sure you're eating your words now nigger :-) That dude will win!
