I always thought the storyline of Deus Ex was similar to that of the Matrix trilogy. I mean, at the beginning, the background is rather realistic, in towns with passants and stuff. But towards the end, it becomes kind of freaky with strange AIs, the Illuminati, and grey aliens.. I guess that's the reason why I always liked the first half of the game most, when you're at Unatco and you still feel like leading a life besides the plot.

It's a phone in an un-lit office when you're in Paris. I forget the building exactly but it's a narrow street with a gate blocking each exit, MJ12 troops on each side. If you go upstairs when you break into the building, it's the office phone on the desk. I believe you only have to answer it once.
