  • That is one serious phone...

  • While playing this level last night I accidentally the phone. Is this bad?

  • OMG

cant you see this is subliminar?

that is the Devil on the other side of the line!

  • He didn't call Collect...what a shame.

  • @graph180 What a rotten way to call.

  • So ur with MJ12 and u are fighting wen the phone rigns. U anser it n the vioce is "im rite behind u mr denton" U turn around and noons tere. THEN WHO WAS PHONE?

  • Helios?

  • @Terneyah

It was before the merging I believe. It's probably Icarus.

  • @HawaiiKnut

Yeah that what'ive meant. I forgot the 'evil' AIs name. :o

  • That's ICARUS

  • @MrIlbimbominkia it's not icarus voice

  • @fantom6150 but it's his behavior

  • it reminds me of the movie The Lawnmower Man

  • I actually found this on my first playthrough...I freaked me the fuck out...

  • What a rotten way to say goodbye

  • First I thought the caller is Icarus, but voice isn't his.

  • Best game ever. Don't care what anybody says.

  • @Linda7647 yes i am with you

  • @JCDenton112788

I've played this game so many times that I could probably recite it word for word, LOL

  • Scared the shit out of me when i first heard it. I literally thought someone was right behind me. It was really late anyway.

  • Why is it ringing?

  • Gaylios.

  • Could be Helios.

I mean Denton unleashes a new age if he merges but is technically not alive to see it.

  • @Drogmir - nah, it's definitely Icarus. Helios is created at a later stage. At Vandenburg as far as I remember bubbs. ^_^

  • @Amos1910 There's nothing saying Helios cannot appear earlier. It fits Helios much more than Icarus.]

  • @scholargrove - Not as far as I'm thinking. Icarus is the bitch who tries to freak the hell out of you but fails. The AI that rings says "too bad you will not be alive to see it", i.e. implying JC Denton is going to be killed. Doesn't sound like Helios, who tries to help him, like Daedalus before?

  • @Amos1910 In a way, Denton doesn't survive the merge, and him merging is the canon ending. Helios doesn't really want to help him, he just doesn't want to be used by Page. Besides, Icarus doesn't really speak like that, nor does he say things like that. Icarus wants to wipe him out completely, not merge, which is what it spoke of.]

  • ANOTHER thing in this game I've still never found?

    This game is too good

  • What's the soundtrack? Can't find it.

  • @aajii22 Paris Cathedral (part 2). What a riff!

  • BUT WHO WAS PHONE?

  • Compared to Deus Ex, is modern gaming God, or just a bunch of New Age crap?

  • @SirSabin - Nah, just crap. Simple, smelly, forgettable crap.

  • @SirSabin Yes, A new age. Too bad you won't be alive to see it.

  • This is interesting. They are announcing flat out The New World Order and the possibility of mass killings of innocent humans in order to control the rest.

Even in VTM: Bloodlines LaCroix speaks of building a New World Order. NOT a coincidence

  • Eh sorry, what were they talking about? ... my mind flew away back to the past as soon as I heard Paris Cathedral conversation loop theme :D

  • What's the name of this song ??

  • God damn the background music is great.

  • EXAMINE WHAT YOU ARE DOING.

  • This is one of the best games ever I remember the old days playing this on pc good times then my pc broke and I didn't play Deus ex for years then I found it on ps2 and now life is good again.

  • A BOMB

  • isnt it icarus?

  • @ccrackodile It seems like the phone voice is similar to Icarus, but i somehow keep thinking that you're talking to Bob Page.

  • This is it right there, a New Age, or New World Order. What the Illuminati (yes they do exist) are establishing right in front of our eyes. Just need to open them up to see it

  • Holy Shit! I find thoose phone only after when i re-play for the 4th time. I really fuck up...

  • i love this freaking game! still have it 4 pc,

TRacer Tong, sam carter, dr. savage !, the MI.B.S lol

    best game ever made!

  • THEN WHO WAS PHONE?

  • It's in the Paris mission - first part, just before you go to the catacombs, building next to the metro station.

  • BEST GAME EVER!

  • Where is this convo located? I must know.

  • @0Angel0A Paris mission i quess.

  • You are not a recognized user for this device.

  • Who are we?... Who are we really?...

  • Forgive a stupid question from someone who hasn't managed to get all the way through the game quite yet-- doesn't Daedalus also contact you the same way, through a phone, right around the time that Icarus does?

  • @DorianMichaelsIII where would that be?

  • @Boba1911 where was this?

  • @DorianMichaelsIII no i cheacked all the phones and IC only did it to kinda put you off by feeings you lies and mis information.

  • @DorianMichaelsIII no, Daedalus first contacts you through your infolink when you're held prisoner under UNATCO

  • @jakelhybrid maybe this video is before that

  • @DorianMichaelsIII this is just old Icarus(controlled by bob page)

  • That is a trick question, DorianMichaelsIII, but i grins with a capital letter anway :()

  • WHO WAS PHONE?!?!

  • This always bothered me.. why is the phone ringing when Icarus is talking?

  • what part of the game were you at and where was that telephone?

  • @masterbasser24 In Paris. Office in building 17 or 14 I think... you have to break in.

  • Who was phone?

  • @8lackRo5e Icarus the evil AI Program

  • @8lackRo5e lmao

  • @8lackRo5e Icarus.

  • Icarus...

  • why does every deus ex gameplay clip always use the Black haired Jc? I think the white haired JC is coolest

  • @uniongrunt I used white haired JC . ;) Yes far better than the black hair.

  • @rtmf me too

  • In the sewers , the first time u hear icarus, I was freaked the hell out. (Kinda)

  • @best360gamer it was the other AI Icarus. you get his voice in the radio's and telepphones just after you land in paris

  • @WorldofWalkthroughs yeah, I have a lot of asshole friends who stopped playing it after like only fifteen minutes just because of the graphics. Those ppl are the kind of ppl I like to call stupid-asses, lol but I digress.

  • This phone call scared me to death when I played through the first time.

As did the info terminal message from Helios in the first Paris Metro station.

    :O

  • Was this Icarus or Gunther?

  • icarus

  • I get that call everyday. ._.

  • it's icarus

  • great voice acting, aggree with u, but arent they talking a bit...fast??

  • One of if not THE greatest games I've ever played, my generation needs to learn that Modern Warfare 2 is the same damn thing over and over again, this game had substance, it had heart, it was a love letter to fans of gaming in the form of a sensationally well crafted game :)

  • too bad kids dont know it.they should reissue it with todays graphic standards, imagine that?

the ultimate PC game with the best music ever in a game,

    unbeatable !!!

cool to see so many deus ex fans

    see ya

  • bob page..

  • it's either icarus, or Daedalus, but I highly doubt its Daedalus

  • icarus

  • Who was phone?

  • @SirDeathboot Nice mate, I laughed out loud.

  • Deus ex is the best game ever made.

  • Icarus is one scary son-of-a-bitch.

  • Your telling me. first time I saw him when I was like 7 I was playing at midnight and couldn't sleepd

  • I love how the phone rings while he's talking. Tells you how important he is...

  • Guess it's Daedalus trying to get through.

  • LOL!!!! X^D So of course by now, you've realized that you've replied to three of my comments on three different Deus Ex videos...lol, Deus Ex vid trolling FTW!!! feel free to comment back;)

  • Oh well no, I didn't notice that. :D It's just that I leave at least 20 comments on Deus Ex videos every day, even on those I've already commented on before. I'm addicted! Oh and "posting Deus Ex quotes in every situation possible" is even more ftw. :D

    A bomb!

  • "MISHTER JAY SEE DENTUHN. IN DA FRESH." know who sed that? lol I bet u do!

  • Who else than our favourite Miss "I will deal with the PORICE" Maggie Chow!

  • Lol, that was the only bad thing about that game. The voice-acting. But it was funny and I still play that game to this day. And when did maggie say "porice", lol? I thought I knew everything about that game! *cries*

  • Hm I think when you confront her at the UC in Versalife she says something with "deal with the police", but because of that accent it rather sounds like "porice". ^^

  • Yeah, I know, I just wasn't sure WHEN I heard it, exactly...i think I've pretty much watched all the DX vids ever posted on youtube and favorited the majority of them, lol...ugh, God, I'd write more, but it's hard to concentrate when a three-year old (she's my sister) is playing with a loud ANNOYING toy, lol... :)

btw, I first started playing this game when I was six and I finally just beat it two summers ago. heheh.

  • Wow you're lucky, I started playing it last summer. I wish someone had told me of its awesomeness earlier. Even worse is that I don't know anyone personally who has played or even knows it. Only one guy I know played the first two levels and then was like "uh it's too much talking" and stopped. -.-

  • @WorldofWalkthroughs Although it's got the mean streak of Icarus...

  • I LOVE THIS MUSIC

  • It's Icarus. I found this on my first playthrough. I have no idea how though :P It might as well be an easter egg.

  • @TranceNemesis No...easter eggs don't typically act as plot devices.

  • My god just hearing the music and part of the plot again is making me want to play again as well! I must feel a strong urge to replay this game almost once a year now, haha.

Was there ever a third Deus Ex?

  • it is being developed

  • That's Icarus talking, isn't it?

That's the Paris music, but I don't remember this part. Shit, I'll have to reinstall the game, AGAIN

  • yes it is

it's right before the catacombs in a large empty building

  • its the building next to the metro station... mmm i think the second office....

  • It was icarus.

This scared me on my first playthrough, I didnt know who it was. As soon as the conversation ended, I whipped around to look behind me. I was creeped out and paranoid until I was halfway through the catacombs.

  • Yeah, it happened to me as well. I thought it was some kind of boss, then since I was seeing nobody in the building, I thought it was gonna be an MJ12 raid, and I only relaxed in the catacombs as well.

  • WHO WAS PHONE!!??

  • Probably Bob Page, since it was he who was planning to merge with Helios.

  • lol, that was perfect.

  • Jesus.

  • its ridiculous how good this game is

  • seriously who was phone?

  • It was the MJ12 AI, Icarus on the phone. Constantly making small threats towards JC, spying on him etc. I first thought it was Helios, but When Icarus merged with Daedalus, they became the Helios.

  • for me personaly one of the best moments in the game

  • I always thought the storyline of Deus Ex was similar to that of the Matrix trilogy. I mean, at the beginning, the background is rather realistic, in towns with passants and stuff. But towards the end, it becomes kind of freaky with strange AIs, the Illuminati, and grey aliens.. I guess that's the reason why I always liked the first half of the game most, when you're at Unatco and you still feel like leading a life besides the plot.

  • Well, Matrix should have never been a trilogy in the first place. With Deus Ex, it is exactly the same.

  • Then who was phone?

I honestly shat brix the first time that Icarus spoke to me and said "I know have access yo all of your systems" (something like that)

  • Awesome voice acting, awesome soundtrack, awesome gameplay. This game is unbeatable :)

  • Amen

  • "What a shame."

  • @MinosDaedalus AHAHAHAHAHHAHA AWESOME VOICE ACTING! But otherwise, yeah.

  • @MinosDaedalus Pfft, I've beaten it like 4 times.

  • @MinosDaedalus

there is only 1 game i love more.... oblivion.. it out there now dont flame me

  • @MinosDaedalus actually, the voice acting kinda stinks for the most part. but everything else is above and beyond most games.

  • @Chayraz2 nah c'mon the voices of Walton Simons and JC are just awesome and Pauls' sounds well, too. I know there is no mimic and minor lip synch but the voices sounds great.

  • @MinosDaedalus i think he's refering to the few lines which really are so bad theyre good. A BOMB!?!?!

  • The voice was the Icarus AI, before it merged with the Daetalus AI.

  • damn...so nice..

and i prefer the ending with helios x3

  • agreed. ive never loved a game more than this one.

  • Still the best game I've ever played.

  • this is still slightly scary...

  • This part creeped me out when I was younger, and it still gives me chills o_o

  • Haha, same here!

"Yes, a new age... Too bad you will not be able to see it."

  • Romantic

  • which mission was that in. cos i never knew that u can pick up icarus's message from phone calls.

  • Paris

  • It's the lower office in Denfert-Rochereau, building 14. You get there right after helping Aimee kill the greasy greasels.

  • what a shame

  • icarus

  • I can't help it i just had to reinstall!

  • Everytime you talk about Deus Ex on a public website, at least 1 person will reinstall it. Guaranteed. Also it was Icarus.

  • i talko to jC! i was therE!

  • WTH?! I missed this while playing the game? How many types did you have to awnser the phone, or where? I awnsered the phone once but since it didn't do anything I didn't awnser the rest.

  • It's a phone in an un-lit office when you're in Paris. I forget the building exactly but it's a narrow street with a gate blocking each exit, MJ12 troops on each side. If you go upstairs when you break into the building, it's the office phone on the desk. I believe you only have to answer it once.

  • imho, dx is the best pc game ever created, because its atmosphere of mysteriousness makes me so interested in the following events in the game. my god, wish I could entirely forget about dx plot and play it again experiencing all those fucking awesome missions...

  • whichever AI it is, Icaurs is definitely the creepiest, JC reacts very calmly to a psycopathic self aware machine hacking into his brain at intervals, i would brick myself

  • You're so right!

See, that's why i love all Deus Ex fans - they have fantasy. Even in Youtube comments! :D

And they like to think about why things are how they are. Not one single so called "kiddie" would have fun with this game for longer than 5 minutes.

All the others - as myself - consider Deus Ex either the best or one of the best games in existence. And that's the truth.

I experienced no other game that intensive - so much situations i can remember right now. Games nowadays don't have that.

  • yeah, do you know who icarus really is? (i mean in the real world) try to search icarus deadalus greek

  • I knew about them, was the 1st thing in my mind when I head Daedalus for the 1st time, and even more when I overheard Page talking to Maggie Chow.

Funny how they never saw me on the other side of the window even when I was jumping like a kindergarden kid.

  • It's Icarus. Just do a search on Google and you will find out.

  • its Morpheus or Icarus

    one of them

  • i know that voice... its Morpheus!!!!!!

  • I thought that the person on the other end of the phone was Morpheus, the computer in Morgan Everett's Paris compound...

  • awesome. I never found that one.

  • That voice is Daedalus.Befor it Makes the fusion with Ikarus to Helios....

  • Scared the shit out of me on the first time. Because i like randomly pressing the use key on phones. *because i once managed to use it as a keypad somewhere cant remember if it was lebedev's airfield or at the free clinic in hells kitchen*

  • groovy music , super cool

  • Icarus :)

  • Daedalus.

  • The camera angle of the phone at the end is the way.

  • man theres so much i didn't discover even though i finished it.....

  • ................

    tard

  • Wtf are you talking about? Music HAS to have a melody otherwise it's just a random collection of disjointed noises, for it to BE music it has to have a melody, do your homework.

  • You don't believe me? Even in cheesy pop songs the decline is evident. Compare the metronomic rhythms and pentatonic twiddles of Leona Lewis with the (sugary) polyphony of Elton John.

    "random collection of disjointed noises"

Have you heard of a record label called Warp Records?

  • People like you shouldn't be allowed to reproduce, FatherWarhol.

  • 1st of all, there are plenty of people who still believe in god (uh...like you?), so if there are no more melodies, lack of belief can't be the cause

2nd, how do you know whether the composer is a religious man (or woman)?

3rd, you're launching into a diatribe about faith based on the music in deus freakin' ex?

  • your comment makes me want to yawn

  • Wow the music is epic... well i guess everything is epic on deus ex :P

  • Deus Ex is still the finest game I've ever played.

  • it's icarus.

you can tell because he says

    "Yessss"

Helios always says that when you see him in Area 51.
