I read your review on Narniaweb... I don't even know why I'm even bothering to go tomorrow. I love the Narnia books and Dawn Treader was my favorite book. I wasn't expecting much since I didn't care for the first two movies either but there was a sliver of hope that it would be good. I hope the film fails and they stop making these and someone reboots it right in 20 years.
I agree with most everything you said. I can't beleive it's actually almost three years since Prince Caspian came out, I saw it on the second day, and now I'm already going to watch The Voyage of the Dawn Treader tomorrow night!!!
I was disappointed in the Prince Caspian movie that there was no moment were Aslan didn't announce a holiday and all the woodland spirits had a parade towards the telmarine village and towards the bridge. But I think they sort of did that after their victory. It would make sense if you ask me
After reading minotaurforaslan's comment, I also want to say thanks for continuing your video log. Your's has been an inspiration for almost a dozen other vlogs, including mine. That says something about the quality of your video, I think. Thank you.
You know, it's interesting gpuddle. I don't see it that way at all. Hear me out. Edmund completed his arc with the white witch in 'caspian', TRUE!!! The scene where he has a nightmare about her in 'Treader' doesn't contradict his totally overcoming the witch in 'capsian' and here's why. I have no fears whatsoever of mirrors. I have had some of the worst nightmares involving mirrors. The dark island simply makes your nightmares come true - like having a nightmare about mirrors while I am awake.
Yes! Big, long, angry rant on the horrible Fox marketing! lol.
Have an awesome time with your family, gP. I didn't initially know if you were going to do video blogs for VDT, but Chronicles of a Narnia Geek has been fantastic to watch. Who knew that there were going to be more issues to discuss with VDT than PC? I still can't wait to hear your review - as much as people sometimes give you heat for being a pessimist, I appreciate the fact that you support your opinions with good arguments.
@aMinotaursJourney - I think there were more issues on PC than VDT. I might argue that the issues in VDT are bigger, however.
I still don't see myself as a pessimist at all. I think pessimism and optimism are both foolishness. What not choose realism?
If I had been doing a "The Chronicles of Dark Knight Fan" or "The Chronicles of a Watchmen Fan," my comments would have been far more positive. Not because of optimism, but because of facts. Those films looked better (and were better).
@GPuddle I know you don't see yourself as a pessimist, and neither do I, though I see how my comment would imply that. I was saying that I appreciate how you justify your reasons for not liking things, and that you don't dislike them "just cause" (like a pessimist.
I think there are more issues with VDT than PC, but that's mostly because I consider the green mist/7 swords to be about 10 issues all at once, because the added plot so greatly affects almost every scene.
lol. They actually have a WW poster in VDT? Man...that's NOT cool... XP

@theMOSLOWshow - Car accidents aren't new either, but that doesn't mean we should like them.
Not all changes are bad. Some changes are good. I'll find out tonight if the changes in VDT are good or bad...

I saw the film today (UK)! On the whole I left feeling positive. There were some things I didn't like but I don't let them bother me.
I'll be interested to hear your verdict!

I'm with you on being ready to see it. I'm seeing it tomorrow and it still feel too far away... I've been ready to see this movie for weeks...
And I do believe trailers are deceiving. Just look at the trailers for Tangled.... "What? This movie's a musical?!"
