Your idea is not stupid, how ever what you are balbing in this video is. You said you lowered the low E string probly ten octaves down. You really didnt lower the low E string 10 octives.

Low E ten octaves down!!!!!! R u kidding?!!! There are 7 notes in an octave. It is one quarter steps from a note to its sharp. There are 12 quarter steps in an octave. Everytime you move one By one fret on the guitar you are moving by one quarter step. 12 quarter steps times 10 would equal 120. You are saying that low e string is equal to 120 frets lower that what it should be tuned to!!!!! Its probly about half an octive too low at the most.

this is good !! I ll definitely try it ! I can hum that low too , but as I 'm a girl ( as my name suggests) it's the very lowest note I can hum so no mistake is possible .... it's cool ! this method is for me !! I use my voice a lot to find notes and play by ear. I usually say : if i can sing it then I can play it . No you don't sound stupid, you're just trying to help other learners, I 'm just greatful many people on youtube are willing to help like you are . and I love your accent !!

Hey there... my apologies for not getting on here sooner.... Once you have one string, preferably the low E you do not need to hum the rest of the strings. You can if your ear is trained well.
