Well, as a Cardinal fan I think this video has run it's course. Eventhough this will always be a great Cardinal/Pujols moment, Lidges' saga wasn't over afterall. The Phillies blow, but I've got a lot of respect for Brad Lidge and the remarkable year he had in Philly. He will forever be a WS Champion. Closing a baseball game is one of the most emotional jobs in all of sports. You have absolutely no room for error, and you are put into that spot, day after day. Brad Lidge has had challenges. He's had bad days. But he is a great dependable pitcher. I realize that one pitch was a mistake. He realizes it. He played for Houston and Philly, both are brutal about their players. Give him some slack! Mitch Williams blew 1993 for us... but we still forgave him in Philly. To Brad: Keep up the good work!

Aaron Heilmen had the same thing happen in 06 for the Mets against the same damn team. XD Mets were up one run in Game 7 of the NLCS and Heilmen gave up a 2 run shot in the 8th and the Mets lost it. Ever since he's been going from team to team pitching like crap. :P

Well, as a Cardinal fan I think this video has run it's course. Eventhough this will always be a great Cardinal/Pujols moment, Lidges' saga wasn't over afterall. The Phillies blow, but I've got a lot of respect for Brad Lidge and the remarkable year he had in Philly. He will forever be a WS Champion. Plus giving up a HR to Albert is not exactly choking, not like if it were say, David Eckstein.

Closing a baseball game is one of the most emotional jobs in all of sports. You have absolutely no room for error, and you are put into that spot, day after day. Brad Lidge has had challenges. He's had bad days. But he is a great dependable pitcher. I realize that one pitch was a mistake. He realizes it. He played for Houston and Philly, both are brutal about their players. Give him some slack! Mitch Williams blew 1993 for us... but we still forgave him in Philly. To Brad: Keep up the good work!

i think brad lidge has some serious mental issues, everytime he fails, he struggles extremely long, after he gave up that homer to pujols in the NLCS, he struggled like crazy for 2 years, after he gave up his first blown save this year, he really imploded, pitching to a 7+ ERA

If you think about it, coming into the 2005 NLCS, Lidge was a lights out pitcher. So, the media put him on a pedestal. Well, Albert Pujols changed all of that with his dramatic 3 run HR. Although Lidge finally won a WS w/ Philly, he's still not the same pithcer since giving up the Pujols bomb...hehe
