Thank you SO much this did eventually work. When I first deleted the BLOB file it wouldnt open steam with some 'action is in use' error message but i just tried a second time and after it updated steam it worked. If anyone has similar issue just try closing everything and trying again.

@NyanthunderCAT Hey I don't know if this will help but the first time I tried to open steam after I deleted the BLOB file it came up with a similar message. Then I just tried again and it worked. It updated the steam client first then worked.

It doesn't work on a mac. If you delete that file, there appears another one, and if you delete it tpp, Steam says: "Steam is currently unavailable", and you must put ClientRegistry.blob back, if you want to open Steam.

FOR PEOPLE WITH WINDOWS 7:

you halfto go to the steam file then right click on steam, then click Open File Location. That will get you to all the files connected to steam. By the way I just changed the name to ClientRegistryOld .blob worked just fine. Didnt halfto restart computer or anything!
