  • as a karateka, i cant wait personally to get stuck into tonfa..

btw, is there anything in chinese martial arts that resembles sai out of curiosity.

  • Great stuff. Very rare to see a Gwai and Sabre combination form. Thanks.

  • Wew This Form..

    Is Fusion..

Is This PArt of the 7 star praying mantis??

    I cant belive it..

i just ever seen dao part with rattan shield..

    But this is Tonfa...

    Surely New invation ^^

  • @jidai112

dao with tonfa is very common in northern style! but this is not come from 7 stars.

  • very interesting form, seems pretty effective

I love long tonfas too, Im 6'2 and really lanky, I can really tear it up with my 24inch pair! They were really hard to use at first, but eventually I got strong enough and comfortable enough with them as I was with my 20 inch ones, you know what they say, an inch longer is an inch stronger!

Good applications with the dao too, another of my favorite balanced weapons!

  • Sifu, What system does this come from?

  • Hi gojumaster:

    Do you like this form?

By the way are you really 89 years old?

    regards,

    alex

  • Sifu, Yes, I appreciate the videos you are sharing. I rarely see "tonfa" outside of Okinawan Karate / Kobudo, so it is nice to see.

BTW, no, I'm not 89. I just fixed that. Thanks.

    Best Regards,

    Russ

  • Muito bom. parabens. obrigado por sua contribuição para o engrandecimento das artes marciais.

  • sorry can you write in English?

  • No this is not the same form as Shek Kin.

I have put the saber & short 2 section to youtube, have you see it yet?

  • Nice Set. Is this the same set that Shek Kin used to Do?

Our school has a Saber & Crutch versus spear as well as a Saber & short 2 Sectional vs spear.

shek Kin also did the Saber & short 2 sectional as well.

  • Very glad to hear that you all like this form, thankyou all my friends here.

    regards,

    alex

  • Hi qilin4:

    May I see this form?

    regards,

    alex

  • This is called the crutch. It is always longer than a tonfa although similar. Popular in Bak Mei and other systems. The longer style is a better fighting tool as the offence is better. The shorter ones are better for defense.

  • very nice I saw this combination in many gong fu movies.

    from Italy

  • Very interesting Tse Sifu,a wee bit more practice with the gwai/tonfa is needed to do it more justice (Imho) although the one in use does look tricky to use as it appears quite long and cumbersome.

Do you use a shorter tonfa at all?

    They are quite fun!

Thanks again Tse Sifu and the very best regards.

    Great editing also!

  • Yes you can choose a shorter tonfa as you like.Long tonfa is more difficult to manage.

  • Fantastic skill level

  • Interesting form, nice
