  • He's not even close to looking like Godzilla. I think that's Titanasaurous from Godzilla unleashed the game. But i think he was known as Gorgo before he became Titanasaurous.

  • para su mayor información no es de Estados Unidos, sino Britanico

  • you might think that the people are innocent but they really aren't,sorta. most of the world's greatest monsters are caused by us,or at least certain types of people: king kong, godzilla, gorgo, reptilicus, the host

  • godzilla se ausenta por 7 años y los gringo tienen el descaro de hacer una copia barata a color de el

  • Cryptozoology novel about two boys who find something strange on the beach see video book trailer

  • I watched this years ago!! and again a few months ago.... I still don't like it.... :(

  • Kids will like this even now. More complex storyline than usual, fine score, interesting locations.

  • I love this movie, especially as a prime example of 1960s British sci-fi.

  • godzilla?

  • My dad showed this to me when I was little cause I was fuckin obsessed w/ godzilla and man did it scare the hell outta me. Something about the grainy sepia color still makes it a little creepy for me today though. Great b-film right here!

  • This movie is still a classic 'giant monster runs amok' flick! Whoever the actor was in the 'Gorgo' suit was very convincing as a prehistoric leviathan!

  • Or could be an animatronic creature right??? In the 60's hollywood had that technology???

  • No.... the director, Eugene Lourie, famous for his other giant lizard flicks, went with the monster suit for this one, much like the Japanese did with Godzilla!

  • But still impressive and shocking!!!!!!!

  • gorgo un filme que me gusta asi se ase por que prefiero a los kaijus

  • this movie reminds me of gappa and baby secret of the lost legend

  • good movie, used to watch it as a kid. not bad for a British attempt at a Daikaiju flick. You still can't beat the Japanese at them, though.

  • You're kidding.

  • The basic plot of this film - which no one has commented on - is simple but very effective. Baby Gorgo was captured; essentially kidnapped, stolen from Mama Gorgo, who then pays a very convincing visit to the captors to retrieve her son. And once she has him, that's it; they return to the sea. Sorry about all the damage, but you asked for it!

  • Gorgo looks like Togera for war of the monster

  • It is currently for sale on DVD by VCI entertainment, presented in widescreen aspect ratio, with lots of goodies and extras on the disc. This movie came out the year I was born, 1961. Incredible special effects by Eugene Lourie. Great story.

  • there goes Big Ben

it would be cool if Gorgo fought Godzilla (due to Gorgo's hieght, it would have to be the 1991 Godzilla)

  • That would be a very mis-matched fight. Godzilla atomic blast alone would snuff Gorgo. Not to mention I cant see Gorgo picking up Kaiser Ghidorah which Godzilla did.

  • movie promo's were so exaggerated and corny in those days.

  • this is what godzilla should of been! Gorgo is actually pretty damn good. id love to have rights to do a remake and sh*t all over godzilla 1998. btw thats an idea, gorgo vs king of the monsters!!

  • THIS IS THE AWESOMEST MOVIE EVER but they should hade let him have some kind of weapon like godzilla did!

  • I like the look of this film. I love anything like this. It's from Britain, it has to be good. And Gorgo's mother is called Orga? That's the name of one of Godzilla's enemies, big bulky thing with a canon on it's shoulder. But just off the record, this Orga came first. Thanks for uploading.

  • what the.... godzilla from britain huh ?

  • yes it is bit like godzilla as we all know GODZILLA is japanese (released in Japan 1954) & GORGO (released in 1960) was Britains aswer to Godzilla even America have there own version of Godzilla (released in 1998)

  • britians best giant monster film but it cant beat the quatermass experament

  • Yeah those cheap bottle rockets will do the trick, hahaha.

I used to love this movie when I was a kid.

It's cool to re-discover these old gems.

  • why didnt they pick nuke xD

  • because, compared to most other monsters, gorgo is quite small, he should have been easier to defeat him.

  • But his mom is over 250 feet tall! They are indestructable armor plated giants who SWIM in molten lava.

  • Uh godzilla can survive molten lava. Just watch the Godzilla 1985, Godzilla vs. Biollante, and Godzilla vs. Mothra Heisei series.

  • I KNOW. That is how he can stand up to MASER and hi- energy LASER beams with no problem. Iv'e been watching and every GOJIRA and KAIJU EIGA made in every format since 1966. The F/X in GORGO rival ANYthing from the TOKUSATSU films of TOHO, DAIEI, SHOCHIKU, ETC.

  • I think thats cause the Japs dont put alot of effort into their f/x while Americans give it more thought. Godzilla Final Wars and GMK Giant Monster All Out Attack have pretty good effects. Probably the best ever seen in any Godzilla movie other then Godzilla 1985.

  • The Japanese put MORE effort than any other country, because of lack of money, they are forced to replace money on the screen with hard work, hand-made craftsmanship, and ingenuity. GODZILLA 2000 was preety good. I like the Heisei Goji tokusatsu series.

  • Prehaps though I have seen the makings of many of their movies. They could have easily put more effort into some visual effects. Godzilla 2000 and GXM bug me. A green Godzilla will never be cool and their scripts were just wierd like the alien fossil space ship. Great idea which they could have saved for Godzilla Final Wars. Godzilla vs Megagurius well the movie in my opinion was to bright. Plus why was Godzilla going after electrical plants. Not one oozed any radiation?

  • OK, if you have the bent, get some animation software and get your friends together to make latex molds and costumes and dozens of miniatures, and lites, miniature pyrotechnics (fireworks), high-speed cameras, rotoscope artists, camreapeople, gaffers, green-screen, etc. I think the SFX in most Japanese and Korean Tokusatsu films shows more sweat and perspiration that they put on the screen, because they lack the budget of Hollywood and Europe.

  • Oh I know they lack the budget. But just compare some of their movies to Godzilla 1985, amazing movie and was put together really well. I guess Im just trying to say it sucks to see a people with good ideas fall short due to money.

  • Imagine if they had the budget of Hollywood. Remeber CLOVERFIELD? It was made on a relatively low budget by JJ Abrams, the Genius behind TT's Lost, Alias, and thenew STAR TREK blockbuster film.

  • So you know I hated Cloverfield. Lost is kind of a snore for me. Never saw Alias. But the new Star Trek was a blast.

  • I LOVED CLOVERFIELD. And from the box-office reciepts a lot of other folks did also, and told their friends. CLOVERFIELD II is coming, right after STAR TREK II.

  • Hopefully Godzilla will show up and blast the monster and its crabs. Star Trek 2 I am all about.

  • I thought this was a British film.

  • It is, but you seem to be the only one who knows it.....

  • one of the sad times when the trailer is better than movie. (like when the music in a video game is better than the gameplay.)

  • OOOOO, GORGOOON!"!!!!!!!!!

  • omg...i watched this when i was a kid all the time. i think i still have the tape, but what a classic. i love this movie.

  • Hell yes, so do I! The astonishing realism still holds true today. I gotta find the tape.....

  • I was 6 years old when this movie came to the Floirda Theater in downtown West Palm Beach. My wonderful Grandmother took me two weeks in a row to see this movie! I can only now imagine how much she suffered, as I begged her to take me back a second viewing! I have seen the movie on TV in the past 10 years. It is still watchable after almost 50 years...

  • this is the most astonishing event of my lifetime

  • I remember this monster flick from 1960! In my local theater, while it was showing, you could buy the comic adaptation for a dime! To this day, I still have the comic... minus the origianl cover, but it is still in good condition! 48 years ago! WOW!

  • I saw this as a kid when it came out. It was great. Mom comes and rescues her baby. Both go back into the ocean at the end.

  • ORGA???? THATS FROM GODZILLA 2000!

  • WARNING!

Remake coming with special effects that look like the original.

  • Are you serious? Is there a REMAKE of GORGO in the works? How do you know?

  • Cool thing about this movie is that the monsters get away with their destruction...and even get the audience's sympathy!

  • When I seen this in Albany NY in 1960 they gave a newspaper ad about 4 pages a week or two before. It worked it drew large crowds.

  • that movies evil yo

  • HUAAAA... i am comming !! :D:D:D

  • Yes, this was a favorite movie when I was a kid..however, it is a little "corny", viewing it by today's standards...go look at the traoler for "Gojira"

  • Part used to scare the hell out of me when Gorgo rises out of the water and all you see is its face in the water...looked real to me.

  • I really like the comic series they did for this. Where Gorgo and his mother (called Orga) would battle various monsters. Pretty neat. Even fought Reptilicus in one issue was awsome.

Which makes me wonder why it's called Gorgo when the mother is called Orga oh well.

  • in the movie they named to baby Gorgo as a play on the word Gorgon which in many different myths say that some of them lived in the ocean. Orga was just an improv to make a point that she's Gorgo's mom

  • Did mama or baby fight reptilicus in the comic? who won?

  • Mama. And Mama's name is Orga. If I remember correctly it was either a tie or Reptillicus just ran away.

A remake? It BETTER be someone in a monster suit. FUCK CGI!

  • Thanks! I think the name is actually OGRA. Mama is so miuch bigger than Reptilicus...but comics took liberties. She seems to be the biggest monster of all- The original Godzilla was 50 meters (160 ft, erroneously dubbed in the English translation as 400 ft) tall. Mama is equal to Big Ben, over 300'. GARGANTUAN!

  • It one of the better guy in a suit films. It would have been better if they could afford stop motion.

  • the doll is allways with his mouth wide open

  • DRINK GORGO COLA

  • when i was little i used to watch this at my grandmas house and it scared me

  • You'll enjoy Gorgo lots better after you see how MST3K "critiques" it.

  • The British should have team up with Japan to make a sequel maybe like:

    Gamera Vs Gorgo

    Godzilla Vs Gorgo

or maybe use Gorgo as a monster for Ultraman.

  • "Incredibly Realistic" "Shockingly Convincing". I beg to differ. This is your typical cheesy 1950s/1960s monster movie. It's quite obvious Gorgo is a guy in a costume. It also must be Bill Travers' worst movie. But I love the bit where the religious fanatic gets trampled.

  • ROTFLMAO

  • I love this

  • lol "realism"

  • thank for uploading this KeScl! haven't seen this in 20yrs+, i used to love it!

  • As I do vanmorrisman :)

  • GREAT TRAILER! Gorgo is a 1961 British science fiction variation on "Godzilla" with touches of "King Kong" and directed by Eugene Lourie. The movie's special effects are crude by contemporary standards and often mocked when the film is reviewed. However, the film is praised for its innovative ending of environmentalist moral. Unusual for such films as the story's monsters, which are presented as innocent victims of human interference, survive and prevail. Muchas gracias, KeSci, por este vid!

  • U're welcome Lonette :)

  • @Lonette wow that was insightful rare to find a YT guy who understands and appreciates these things
