N900 is in a different class from the omnia hd. The omnia is a smartphone with very few *GOOD* apps while the n900 is a handheld computer which has virtually no limits on what apps can run on it. Even full blown office suites and image editors(open office and gimp) have been made to run on n900. What, besides the screen and video recording(with bad audio) , does the omnia beat n900 in?

WTF. My mint N900 PR1.1 takes 80 seconds until even the Nokia animation appears, 10 more seconds after that. And yes, if you want devices like these for actual portable use, boot time is a pretty significant measure because after that time a significant amount of your battery life will already be gone.

I wonder why your N900 is so slow? Maybe because at the time it you had the first firmware it came with.. now with PR1.1/PR1.1.1 and even PR1.2 it's a lot faster.. Because mine loads a lot faster than that! ALOT!

@dangerardo80 not really. they both share the same Cortex A8 processor, at the same clockspeeds, and the same 430MHz DSP. The Omnia HD, actually, is meant to handle the workload of encoding and decoding 720p video on the fly and save it to the disk.
