  • Mixflip, I enjoy all your videos, keep up the excellent work man.

  • @TheZombieRebellion Thanks for watching.

  • The M14 is an amazing rifle.

  • such a fucking perfect weapon system. Its pathetic that people bitched about the recoil

  • continued- i earned the title of united states marine in oct. 1973 ,at the time i was 17 my friends from high school i left behind were shooting pool and i was shooting an m-14 or m1 a i shot 228 at the rifel range@ parris island that was high expert @ that time, i loved that weapon, you can shoot a fly off a cup @ 500 yards ,these guys dont know what they have and they sure dont know how to use the sling correctly, i'll bet all of them have black and blue shoulders.but like i said above $ talks

  • @1973c0g Drinking and surfing the internet is always fun.

  • @mixflip im drinking coffee, you have a very serious weapon, just so you know in 1777 george washington ordered the springfield armory to be built and to produce single shot muskets then in the 70's the reese family bought the buisness and brought the buisness back ,i carried that weapon over 35 years ago and have great respect of the weapon i feel has no match yescan get a shorter lighter weapon but i personaly like a long range weapon engoy ithave respct for it was carred into war by brave men

  • @1973c0g Thanks for your service devil dog. Oooh Rah!!! Semper Fi. Even though I was a Navy squid (FMF Corpsman) I spent alot of time at Camp Pendleton, MCB Kaneohe Bay, Camp Hansen and Camp Fuji. with the 1st Marine Expeditionary Brigade...back when it still existed. Marines were always good to me.

  • @mixflip you wasnt a squid you was the doc and you know it

you cant be that bad a guy if u humped those hills with us !

    talk at you latter doc

  • my question is one of life , why is it that people who can get things that are the crem de crem of life are so stupid about what they have all ways think that wow i got this now im a professional and no one can tell me any thing about it! case and point , when i was released from the marine corps in 1975 i became a otr trucker, after many years i started hauling private cars i picked up a beautiful older corvette the owner didnt know what free play in the clutch was but could afford it plus

  • @MP40MayShootBullets This one is actually an M1A. The nameM1A is exclusive to Springfield Armory. Not all of these style of guns are called M1A's. My Polytech is stamped M14-S. No where on it does it say M1A. I put both names just so people who searched for either one would find the video.

  • Does anyone know where i can get an M1A with a pistol grip?

  • @hailfire82997 You can buy a stock that has a pistol grip like from Troy or VLTOR or SAGE to name a few.

  • @mixflip Do they make a wood stock for the M1A that has a pistol grip? You seem to know a lot about it.

  • @gonzisonsbc Not sure? I am not an M14 expert but I have never seen one. Ask around on the M14 forum. Im sure someone has made one at some point?

  • accurate and sounds absolutely bad -ass

  • I have a M1A Super Match on a McMillan stock and hit 18"X24" steal plates out to 400 with Iron sites. And of course you'd have to explain to the cop that he needs to focus on the front site and not the target. Ha, law enforcement.

  • for a semi auto, this is like a Cadillac.

  • @Alexn1067 More like a Maybach

  • I love the sound it makes!

  • I WANT ONE! is that the standard or the national match?

  • @Defy4545 Standard.

  • That rifle is why I own 2 (.Deadly ) USMC I won many shoots May be big money now but it will bring you home. I have one in ,308 and the 30,06 If the s.h.i.t. hits the fan this is my M.B.R.

  • Guys it made to hit far out its my M.B.R. Im in colorado reach out and touch a Global so called Elite

  • That rifle is pretty sweet... Not much recoil, huh?

  • @mixflip

My bad, I meant to type M1. (it's been a long day haha) I first heard of these modified M1s from a retired Navy guy. Apparently the barrel inserts are still available if you look for them.

  • @mkcsu27 Ah that makes sense now.

  • dans a left hander huh/

  • What's better the Springfield M1A or Springfield M21

  • @SequelFinalNight Im not an M14 expert but the M1A comes in various configurations (standard, national match, scout, SOCOM etc etc) The M21 as far as I know is a national match mil-spec rifle. I dont know which is technically better. When shooting a $1500 high quality hyper accurate 7.62/.308 rifle like the M14 style rifle... better is in the eye of the beholder and better will make more of a difference with the shooters skills more than the quality of the gun.

  • BOINNNNNGGGGGGGG

  • @89Sunbird Yeah, you never know when old rifles may come in handy. Stupid anti-gun nuts...

  • @mixflip Basically waht I meant was it resembled a Garand that somebody had attached a mag to and fitted for 7.62. So thank you for answering my question.

  • @mixflip Disclaimer: don't take this for face value, I might be remembering wrongly. I have read in a few firearm magazines here and there that tactical engagements in Afghanistan have begun to lengthen past the 5.56's effective range. Certain branches of the military have taken to refurbishing and modernizing M14s into M14 Enhanced Battle Rifles and distributing them to Designated Marksmen for enhanced longrange capability. An article I read said they'd run out of their stores. What I'd read.

  • @JoeTheMeatbag They might be running low, but I doubt they're running out. Bill Clinton ordering thousands of them being cut up probably wouldn't help the situation...

  • As I understand it, the military's stocks of old M14s have dried up, and now they're purchasing these guns for conversion into M14 EBRs for use in multipurpose engagements.

Now, my question is this rifle looks pretty similar to a 7.62mm mag-fed Garand. Does it function in a similar fashion? Could someone clear me up on this?

  • @JoeTheMeatbag I never heard of military M14's drying up? They cant sell them to civilians in the first place so I cant imagine where they are going? Usually the military will either sell arms to other countries or mothball them in case they need them again? I doubt any NATO country is buying M14's when they can buy M16's and 5.56 ammo cheaper. As for mag fed Garands? I never heard of them??? An M14 is essentially a mag fed Garand as far as the receiver, bolt and op rod system go.

  • @mixflip

In the 1950s the Navy modified some M14s to feed off of 20 round box magazines. They had a barrel insert to accept 7.62 NATO.

  • @mkcsu27 Huh? M14's are not modified. They all shoot 7.62 NATO and they all are designed to use 20 round box magazines. Are you confused with another gun?

  • This is my rifle. There are many like it but, this one is mine....

  • Its a great weapon. Smoothe as silk. A "rela" assult rifle

  • nice. thanks man. I've been looking for places to go shoot.

  • @djflexentertainment If you live in the south area you can go out in the desert just south of the M resort too. I havent been there but I see alot of videos from that area.

  • Hey, where are you guys shooting if you don't mind me asking?

  • @djflexentertainment the washouts is what we call it. its up the 95 about 15 or 20 minutes north of Vegas.

  • Man i want one of those damn rifles so bad, just like your buddy said they are some of the most accurate rifles i have ever fired woithout a scope and smooth ass hell.

  • how much does one of those cost

  • @starwarsman96 A springfield armory M1A starts at about $1500 brand new before taxes and background check. A used one can be had for probably around $1100 to $1300? A used Norinco or Polytech M14-S can be had for about $700 and up.

  • Lol I need to win the lottery for one of these and a case of ammo, .308 is HIGH

  • @Glockcrazy19 They are ridiculously expensive to buy and shoot thats for sure.

  • anyone ealce notice he wraped the sling wrong?

  • @MetalicDeah Anyone notice he spelled "ealce" wrong?

  • kk i know what .308 hunting rifle i want . fkin a

  • oink oink oink!!!!!!!!!

  • @fireball1552 Block block block

  • Thanks for the info. I've been pondering for awhile on buying an M1A and your excellent video put me over the top and I have a Springfield M1A Loaded SS ordered and due in next week. Thanks for the video, information, and great shooting!

  • What model M1A is that Standard, Loaded?

  • @tbowling13 Im not sure since it was not mine but I think it was the standard? I never heard Mike mention loaded or match or anything special.

  • @tbowling13 its a standard. in a loaded version the barrel is thicker near the chamber.

  • Easily get out to 100? This thing will easily get out to 5-600!

  • @MascisMan1 If 500 to 600 is easy then 100 is even easier! lol

  • Beautiful rifle guys. You wont make a mistake, its a fucking orgasm to shoot!

  • .308?

  • @drivepro 7.62 NATO. (basically the same thing but there are tiny differences technically)

  • @mixflip im basing my next purchase on caliber...

  • @mixflip Oh ok thanks

  • What type of stock is that? It sort of looked like polymer

  • @ArkticFire Wood.

  • I would use one of these against zombies because there a good CQB gun too. At least so says their website

  • OMG NOW I JUST NEED 2 GRAND!!!!

  • @MrXtream123 Actually you can get a Springfield Armory M1A for $1500

  • @mixflip no way. i just ought one ,still cant pick it up til 11-21-11 and it has polymer stock . its impossible to find walnut stock and mine went out the door at 1,900 dollars

  • if you want to watch real guns being shot you have to flick through all the video game shit first (i do love video games to death but i hate when i look up a gun theres always video game guns)

  • vietnam era toy. love it

  • where is this place?

  • @Chriznak a few miles north of Las Vegas up the 95 highway. mile marker 103.

  • When people a talking about shooting zombies they are referring to democrats. The bastards that dont want you armed. It started years ago with Bob hope..Just search Bob hope zombies on youtube you will see.

  • @runninonempiy I heard that before. It also can represent the rioters of an economic collapse. Its politically insensitive to talk about shooting armed street thug rioters who want to burn down your house with Molotov cocktails but call them zombies and the sky is the limit and what nasty things you could do lol.

  • @runninonempiy I just like zombie movies...

  • @BALJIT147 ME TOO Better tune into amc..the walking dead series started up again a couple days ago..BEST EVER!

  • @runninonempiy I don't think I can get that channel up here in Canada so I watch it online

  • What type and brand of ammunition were you shooting in it?

  • @billt460 I dont know. It was not my gun and I didnt ask about the ammo. I'll ask Mike the next time I see him.

  • All of you guys...awesome! Go to an Appleseed Shoot. Rifle Marksmanship Clinic. RWVA dot ORG a 501C3 organization. Get instruction on NPOA, respritory pause, sling use, 3 positions...(same as USMC.) and how to make hits out to and beyond 500 yards with iron sights. Watch on You Tube "The Appleseed Project" We are Turning American back into a Nation of Riflemen! $70. for 2 full days of instruction. Women $10., under 21 $5, Military free.

  • In the words of Gunnery Sergeant R. Lee Ermey, " 'the M14 is one fucking A rifle ' ".

  • Where do you get a all black m1a

  • I hate nerds with their guns dreaming some day of a zombie apocalypse. Guess what, you nerds with your guns are gonna be the first ones infected! haha

  • The M1A is an excellent rifle but it suffers from a design flaw - the bolt roller cam is held on by a tiny, cheap c-clip. You have to grease the hell out of it because if something causes it to bind in the op-rod and it pops off - the rifle is inoperable. This is why when Ruger copied it for the Mini-14, he dropped the roller cam and made it a solid part of the bolt.

  • M14 will be my main weapon in zombie apocalypse.

  • @99thJediWarrior 7.62 is kinda overkill for a zombie dont you think? All you need to do is destroy the brain. 7.62 is kinda big and heavy and how much of it can you realistically carry? A samurai sword might be better since it never runs out of ammo and never jams and it is pretty good at removing heads from bodies...especially decomposed rotting dead bodies lol.

  • @mixflip Well for one thing, it's better to keep the zombies at a distance than to have them any closer. Plus, it's like being a sniper without the scope. And also, isn't destroying the brain the best way to kill a zombie? Isn't that true?

  • @mixflip Plus - rotten head might be very dry, so you won't be able to explode any heads anyway. And the shock effect is irrelevant.

    I'm thinking .223. (Even though i perfer 30.06/.308) :)

  • @99thJediWarrior

or when the OWG (one world govt) is after you

  • Do they still make them with the Bayonet Lugs?

  • Doesn't it go full auto?

  • @Barnekkid The military version (the M14) does but not the civilian version (the M1A) does not.

  • And great footage too, what camera are you using?

  • @Mr2ndAmendment Thanks for watching. I use a Sony 1080p HD camcorder and edited the video using windows live movie maker on Vista.

  • Good love the M1A. Had weapons card for a M14 for a while, was simply a joy to have. Don't own one, but I do own a M1 Garand and both rifles are just amazing to shoot. The sights are incredible and it really is a point and shoot weapon. With the proper tuning, ammo, and shooter, you can do incredible things with the M1A/M1 Garand. Nice vid, beautiful rifle, and great shooting, keep it up!

  • its always cool seeing new people introduced to the M1A/M14, very coole video guys.

  • Dan would have done better if his right hand wasn't so far out and if he had raised his left elbow up more.

  • @MrUSAJAY I think his is the standard. I am not happy with all the junk people leave in the desert and we try to clean up and leave it slightly cleaner than we found it but its a hopeless battle I think? I look forward to a video of your new M1A.

  • "This is my rifle, .... there are many like it, but this one is mine. My rifle is .."

  • Not only are they an accurate rifle, but they are very easy to aim and shoot. Shootability is the key to the M1a.

  • Where is this firing range at?

  • @usteeler81 20 miles north of Las Vegas off the 95

  • @mixflip cool, my grandpa and his friend took my younger brother and I to a range near Hurricane, UT and shot a few rounds there

  • Beautiful, I think I'll sell my xbox and all the games so I can get one of these.

  • @jimmi161 Good luck. Its costs about $1500

  • @mixflip Well you gotta start somewhere.

  • @jimmi161 youll need a lot of xboxs

  • @jimmi161 If you have to sell things to buy the gun, then you probably won't be able to afford to shoot the gun.

  • @AKSKSMAN You got that right, I've had my Bushmaster xme2s for a year now and have only been able to put 10k rounds through it.

  • @theznyper Saving up to buy one still. This one is a friends.

  • what is this m1a chambered in? 7.62?

  • @andrademeza 7.62x51 NATO. You can also shoot .308 out of it.

  • @andrademeza They shoot both .308 and 7.62 NATO

  • @Michaeldean88 T.Y. for some reason i didnt notice the text in the begining of the video that shows the caliber..

  • @andrademeza Oh it's cool dude. I was also saying you can shoot the .308 Winchester in an M1A/M-14.

  • and that was not even trying, this is he gun they us in shooting competitions that go out to a 1000 yards

  • one of my favorite guns of all time, extremely accurate very very little kick, and the kick is very smooth, at one of ranges in my town the longest it goes out is 75 yards and we where hitting a 3in by 3in every time

  • That is one beautiful piece of hardware man. The M-14 has been on my wish list for a very long time, but the price has always got the best of me. Hopefully someday soon I'll be the proud owner of one.

  • thats pretty sick!

  • how much would a m14 like that cost?

  • @TeamPlayer1011 A Springfield Armory M1A will be around $1500 depending on your location? And the condition of the gun? And the version you select? (SOCOM? Scout? 20" standard rifle? Match grade competition?)

  • easily the best m1a shooting footage on youtube! cant wait to get mine!

  • That range is a nasty shithole. Amazing how irresponsible people are regarding their trash

  • @brycro I agree...its sad that people bring stuff out there to shoot up then just leave it. They really trash up the desert.

  • Do they make the M14 full auto?

  • @metalbynumber They used to. You might be able to find one but it will be super rare and ridiculously expensive!!! Probably around $20,000 or more?

  • @mixflip Thats horrible! Money is rediculous!

  • i dont see steel all i see is tinfoil lol

  • What rounds does it fire?

  • @kenny01622 7.62x51 Nato and .308 caliber

  • U could hit someone easy at 100 yards well yeh its going to

  • So is Dan a natural lefty?

  • wow... look at the mess people have made. All of the shotgun shells, plywood, BATH TUBS and a soap bottle. I can't believe that; soo sad. I don't understand how difficult it is to clean up your own shizzz.

  • @DellDude Yeah it is sad to see. We often bring trash bags with us to help clean up the spots were shoot at.

  • they need to have a channel on tv chill guys shooting awesome guns... i'd tivo the shit out of it.

  • Sweet, that one has a bayonet lug! :D I think you can buy new ones to put on the rifle, since they ship without.

  • When you learn how to shoot it, you will love it even more. Do some reloading and get the right loads.

  • Awesome gun and channel man.

  • 2:50 SWEET

  • Gotta love a battle rifle. Whats the range on the steel plate?

  • @Ranger4321 Maybe 70 yards> It wasnt far at all as far as rifle shooting goes. Thanks for watching.

  • Would love to see a table top review of the M1A and the SPAS 12! Great vids~!

  • @Gr8one501 The next time Mike comes with us I'll try and make time for a review of his guns.

  • Thanks for posting. looks great...finnally we got some video

  • @lateraider Yeah I have been slacking on the videos because of moving, family in town, a newborn and work. I have vids in the works...so stay tuned. Thanks for watching.

  • Long live the M14/M1A!

  • How is the recoil?

  • @swiftcoyote Its a 7.62x51 (basically a .308) so its got some recoil. The good thing is that its a steel and wood gun that is fairly heavy so the weight soaks up alot of the felt recoil. The muzzle will rise up quickly under rapid fire thats for sure. I'd use it more for precision long shots vs rapid fire close quarters if I had a choice.
