  • it's 900 dollars more expensive used? :S

  • @tarrizzzzzzzzz note, there are two lenses - the leica 50 1.4 is $2k used, nokton is $1100 new

  • @ptys007

Got mine for 900 flat (buy it now) with free next day (morning) shipping from HKBNS (I think that's what they're called-- they've got a ton of photo gear for sale, located in Hong Kong) on ebay.

Great deal for a 1.1 M mount lens if you ask me. Personally I like the quality of it better than the leica 50mm (not to say that lens is at all bad or even worse-- Just personal preference). The bokeh is amazing.

  • @tarrizzzzzzzzz People do that to get more money

  • @cubeproduktion Well, F- them!

  • @tarrizzzzzzzzz Not sure if you've received a similar reply before, but I believe Steve Huff was referring to the used Summilux.

I think he's just showing how reasonably priced a new Voigtlander Nokton is priced compared even to used Leicas.

    Happy shooting!

  • Is there any way you can use these on a 35mm dslr? i.e. 5d mark II??

    Great video!

  • @JD95

Yes. You can get an M to EOS (EF) mount adapter. Google for price. Should be reasonable for how awesome M mount lenses are.

So, yeah, it'll mount. But it aint no autofocus lens... And you should probably just get a rangefinder ;-)

  • @BrentonSteinhilber I doubt it's reasonable. You'd need a glass element in the adaptor to get infinity focus - and compromosing $1000 lenses with a crap single element probably isn't the best way to go :-P

  • Black paint = Quality???

  • Its not very objective size comparison because you compare the Nokton with hood, but the Summilux WITHOUT HOOD. Cheeky.

  • @artspraken not matter.

  • @artspraken It doesn't matter much as it's very clear that the Nokton is just a lot thicker then the sumilux. Which for most rangefinders is important as it tents to get in the way of your view finder :-)

Great lens though the 1.1 although i would just buy the half cheaper 1.5 as you really don't need a 1.1 lens on a rangefinder. I easly shoot at 1/15s without motion blur. Load up Ilford Delta 3200 and shoot it at 800 ~ 1600 and you get close to night vision ;-)

  • @ttcremers

You'd be surprised how often that 1.1 comes in handy. And it is SHARP at 1.1. But the 1.5 aint too shabby, either.

It does block the rangefinder a bit in the bottom corner, though. I never found it to be much of a problem, though. It has never been an issue and I always find myself forgetting that it's even there at all.
