  • I think it's hilarious that so many people say Skyrim is the best game ever when the majority of them have never played the Elder Scrolls series that Skyrim is a sequel to. Plus, most people that bought Skyrim is probably just gonna sell it for a newer game later anyway.

  • I'M ATTRACTED TO GARNET!!! there i said it :x

  • The best ending game ever, this song is beautiful, FF IX forever in my memories.

  • Don't ridicule me, but I cried at the end of FFIX. It was such a beautiful/sad ending. Especially with the death of Vivi...

  • @MetalRock7777 Uhhh... Sorry to tell you, but Vivi doesn't die.

  • the biggest error SE ever made was trying to move away from turn-based battling. The dev that came up with that idea needs to be shot.

  • -_- waaa eto pla yun.

  • I played this game when I was just 6 years old and loved it ! It's part of my childhood. :')

  • after seen this i decided to play the game... one more time

  • Final Fantasy IX and X are the peak of storytelling in J-RPG's.

  • final fantasy 6 and 9 were two of the best with best music. the original tactics had a very intricate plot i liked that too. 7 was great but all the spin offs including the movie sucked. 8 was a good game but a bad final fantasy. 10 was bad...

  • @FenixLites Have we met? LOL Just kidding. I think just like you bro. 6 and 9 are the two best FFs.

FF7 has an almost nonexistent villain, and yet Sephiroth remains a highly praised villain who is actually not even the villain. . . *cough* Genova. FF8 junction system and leveling system was abyssmal. And FF10 is just as linear as FF13 (its major complaint by nearly everyone).

  • This game was totally underrated.

  • @fifi28 It has an average rating of more than 90, how is it underrated? Do you mean in terms of the popularity FF7 gets? I guess so...

  • @HedjaHead Popularity, I feel people don't know what they are missing!

  • I totally agree, as fun as Skyrim is, I have yet to play a game that compares by half to these games. The entire FF series (up to 10 anyway) is simply amazing. Even with bad graphics they still outperform the games today by having an exceptional storyline, beautiful music, and wonderfully artistic realms.

  • @daniz0rz skyrim isnt so fun really, I had fun playing it for about 100 hours, but I was always expecting something more, I was taking it slow. When I got around to the quests. They were mostly short and uninteresting, and the guilds were a step back from oblivion. Everything I liked about oblivion got ruined in skyrim. I finished the main quest and haven't picked it up since.

  • hoat hinh dep .. cung la game hay nhat

  • thich nhac cua fantasy ...

  • @SteveDutchy I second the emotion

  • This is the only game I can replay over and over againe! Awesome music and characters...

  • All FFs are good, it's just that after IX (cue merger) that something special found on all past games got on a bus and hasn't been seen since.

FFIX is underrated. It's one big salute to all FFs. Love, Friendship, Humor, and even psychological concepts are tackled. Sure, its childish facade hides deep meaning. Each character's existentialist woes are on par with Cloud , with Vivi at the top. So much symbolism in one game makes it so much of a success when it comes to story.

  • I don't hold any grudge against FFVII. Its only sin is attracting SO MANY FANBOYS AND FANGIRLS. Really, FFVII has reached new levels with their fanbase, with a huge amount of Fan Dumb. Still, FFVII is great and worthy of the Final Fantasy title

  • @jasperism27 I agree, except that the bus left after 10, in my opinion.

  • @TheTraceIrving I thoroughly enjoyed both FF12 and 13. In fact, FF12, not for its characters but its ability to play like a MMO, was one of the better experiences I have ever had in a FF. The summoning magic was terrible in both 12 and 13. But I feel both games are superior to X.

  • I just started replaying this and I was worried after years of found memories I may not enjoy it like I use to but I played it and fond I still enjoy it just as much. :)

I may not be a hardcore FF but I still rank FF9 has my favorite game.

  • FF9 is the best

  • i finished final fantasy IX 4 times in every play i take same pleasure feelings this game never be old

  • very memorable song !!!

this game is the one of the best FF

    because has classic FF feel

  • This game always brings up fond memories i wish i could play for the first time all the time

  • i still remember the first time i beat this game, beutifull song, brings back very good memory of my childhood...(⌐.⌐)

  • the best song of all ff

  • For people who want a FFVII remake, give it about 10-20 years. Be patient, and you'll have a good final result. If you decide to rush Square Enix, they will make crap. Now, everybody enjoy this wonderful song from the game. :)

  • Look, I'm going to resolve this now. If somebody has played both FFIX and Skyrim, and likes Skyrim better, so be it. It's a matter of opinion, really. As for the FFIX vs FFVII remake arguments, I will say this NOW. As much as me and the next guy would love a FFVII remake, Square Enix has said that they probably aren't going to do one for a while. It would cost hundreds of millions of dollars, and take over 10 years of reprogramming. FFIX is more of a candidate for a remake than VII.

  • @MetalRock7777 i would disagree on that.. FFVII is a better candidate for a remake.. FFIX must be left untouched. It is great the way it is. Making it 3d, i would say yes!

  • @Asparagus428 FF6 is the greatest and only Final Fantasy worthy of a remake. All the PS releases have enough in them to remain as is. Remaking FF7 is pointless when you have Crisis Core (whether you like that game or not). FF9 works as a cartoony graphic game. FF6 however, if the story could remain intact, the visual upgrades would be immense.

  • @NY1love definitely!

  • @Bresker18 dude really, Oblivion was more engaging then Skyrim larger to the fact that Skyrim reached the point where the series became too streamlined after the prefect balance in oblivion, plus FFIX is one the greatest games ever made, Skyrim is simply a great game.

  • there needs to be a movie made of this game ;_;

  • @Septimuspain there should be a movie of every ff

  • @randomguyoncrack agreed. Advent Children did quite well, better than spirits within did. *cringe* I don't think that SE would do another FF movie though. its possible, but unlikely.

  • The old days who said it was worse than today.

  • Reminds me of the time I used to play Final Fantasy VIII & IX. Unfortunately, I never get to play Final Fantasy VII. What a shame.

  • @Vosloff same for me! D:

  • Remade sorry spellcheck

  • FFX isn't being remarried its getting an hd rerelase presumably along with 12, BTW I agree entirely that square should return to its roots, however I persoanlly did enjoy 13 and am playing 12 (the only one in the series I haven't beaten yet)

  • I don't care if it's original or not Square Enix. Bring FF back to it's roots! Stop trying to make something different! Don't fix what's not broken! FF used to be an awesome dramatic and adventures game now it's cheesy weird drama.

  • What the hell does FFX need a remake for? They'd probably butcher the ending because Fans Are Dumb.

  • All FF are great! XIII is great, best FF (SE) has made, but if you ask me, IX (SF) is way better than XI and XII.

  • Thumbs up if you think Final Fantasy IX deserves more a remake than Final Fantasy VII.

  • @TheFinal360 NO one is going to thumb you up. FFVII deseves a remake before FFIX. Look at the graphic and music quality. At least FFIX characters have fingers instead of stumps.

Still, FFV and FFVI demand remakes much more than FFVII.

  • @justa16thnote But this FF is great... well how about two remakes? FFVII and FFIX.

  • Comment removed

  • @justa16thnote Or in order, FFV, FFVI, FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX, how about it?

  • @TheFinal360 Makes sense. All of these games up to X need renewal actually. I don't understand the FFX HD remake. Kinda random, but hey, they could afford it I guess!

  • @TheFinal360 Funny you should say that. Neither FFIX or FFVII are getting a remake. FFX is, on the PS3 and PS Vita.

  • @TheFinal360 I would give you thousands of thumbs up if I thought would actually make this happen...

  • My beloved Final Fantasy what Square ENIX did with you? We miss you Square Soft... FF IX was the last Final Fantasy I really LOVED... This characters, their stories, their personalities had something special and nowadays, the latest final fantasy's doesnt have that soul, that love, that something that made Final fantasy something special... Srry for my bad english ;)

  • @thund3r122 i agree

  • Best game ever. I fell inlove with it in 2000 and still love it dearly to this day. Still means as much to me if not more. And I replay it all the time! No other game can compare. My newest video on my channel shows my love for this game!

  • I remember this.... man :)

  • this is my childhood

  • It's really sad that a lot of people don't give credit to the older games like FF6 and 4 even 5.I know for the majority of the fan base FFVII is everything, and its only because they haven't or won't give the older games a chance. If a lot of people liked FF9 and haven't played the games before 7 i strongly urge you to do so, you won't regret it.

  • great songs, great game, great characters, great video, great story => FFIX is very cool!

In my opinion, FFIX just lose FFVII the story ( I think FFVII's story is very good ).

Tks for the video, it's very beautiful!

  • I fakin' love this story and this song! even there is no voice talkin, they can make us know what they're thinking based on their action and movement.

  • In final fantasy 9 you could really feel the emotion the characters had towards each other. In final fantasy 13, you couldn't really feel the emotion like you could in this game. I love this game, I wish I could go back in time to a point before I played this game and love it all over again.

  • @Disarray2000 I agree, 13 had none of the heart that 9, had.

  • @Voshk you are right, but thats because of the soundtrack, nobuo is lo longer with square and you cant force hin to rejoin :D

  • @jugglerkkev I didn't know he was no longer with them, and did I say I wanted to force him to rejoin?

  • @Voshk many people say the soundtrack of newer ff´s become bullshit, thats because nobuo is no longer with them, i just wanted to say a fact

  • @jugglerkkev I agree, without him, the new music has no heart or soul.

  • @Voshk yes, but i just wanted to say its no reason to blame the game for it, nobody can change that he is gone, we have to deal with it, though takeharu ishimoto is also awesome, look at crisis core soundtrack, its my favorite of all

  • @Disarray2000 I still play it once a year and love it every time :D

  • this was the first and best rpg I ever played..

  • @Shinn18 wow, just like me! I played this game when I was 7,8 years old, i can't remember.... Even now I like FFVII a lot but FFIX is still the best! :D

  • Best game I ever played in my whole life! I miss the days :(

  • I'm broken...beatiful game, i'm crying...

  • ff9 story is wonderful =D

  • i wish they would remake this one other then 10

  • @venen22 they arnt remaking ff10.. just remaster for the ps3

  • A glorious period in gaming... Did anyone else feel raped after playing 13?

  • @MegaCryptos meh :/

  • @MegaCryptos WTF happened?

  • this is like the easiest FF game I have ever played, and the easiest plot to understand (FF7 and FF8 made no sense to me until I played them over again)...btw cute falling down from vivi ^_^ 2:06 I think this is where he learns the Fira spell right?

  • now that I've played different games, this game can't hold my attention anymore. It sux, but it gives me a chance to explore different FF games like 13.

  • @raeven1212 New gen kids will never understand the deepness these games had in the past. It's not like the games today which just focus on violence and sci-fi

  • @TheOGNehogo Yep, kids these days are all just trash talking, first person shooter drones.

  • GODDAMNIT! WHERE DID THE GOOD OLD DAYS GO?

  • @YoungGun66 they left without a word

  • @YoungGun66

    There in your memories

  • good old fucking days... going to miss it.. :(

  • 拍手

  • JRPG's Are the best! period.

  • @kimpsz lol :) Gives that feeling doesn't it.

  • I miss my ex T^T

  • i remember the time without youtube ... everyday i play this game 3 times only to can hear this song :´)

  • You can buy this at Amazon.com and other sites

  • Listen...this is for the younger people who only know xbox360 and ps3...you dont know games if you think Skyrim is better than FF9.

  • @Ramez1799 Amen to that brother!

  • @Ramez1799 I will always love this game..

Today there are Uncharted, Assassin's Creed..

They are beatiful without doubts, but they can't compete with the emotions, the tears and the love that games like this drops...

" Your voice will still remember our melody "

When i was 9 my only problem was "Defeat Ghizamaluk" ... this is my childhood and who today plays just for kill or for the HD GRAPHIC let me say man... these persons don't know anything about a LOVE for a game.

  • @LaComitivaDiSeppe These games like FF9 were made with a soul and creativity that many of today's games lack. I think Skyrim is one of the few exceptions in today's world of a game made with passion. Alot of people consider the last true FF to be 10, which I am tending to agree from what I hear from the newer games. 97-03 was really the golden age of games. I mean you had SS, just 1 company, banging out classics every year. FF7, 8, 9, and the great TACTICS of course.

  • @Ramez1799 I could not say it better... Skyrim is a good game, but nothing compared to my beloved Final Fantasy games.. which I play since 1996 not so long compared to the real hardcore fans... but I was 4 years old in 1996 ... now i'm 19 and nothing can top this... *sniff, takes out ff VI, VII, VIII, IX* see ya soon reallife !

  • @Ramez1799 But Skyrim IS better than FF9!

  • @Bresker18 Don't compare Skyrim to FF9. I never played Skyrim but I heard it a great and fun game but it doesn't match completely with FF9 (storyline, etc) FF9 is a mastepiece due to it's character development, music, story, etc. You must be one of those fanboys who like flashy and "better" graphics instead of classics like FF9 and other classic games. It's annoying when people love to diss on FF9. People who hate on FF9 obviously never played it before or choose not to understand the story.

  • @Bresker18 its like you're saying your "favorite painter" who lives in this era is better than Leonardo Da Vinci.

  • @Bresker18 The reality is that you like skyrim because it's a flashy high graphics game. You probably have never even played a Final Fantasy or don't have the comprehension to appreciate it. Modern video games only worry about graphics nowadays and after you beat skyrim you're gonna get bored of it and probably sell it for a better game. But anyone who truly plays a Final Fantasy never gets bored of it. Why? All of them are simple yet they are a masterpiece of art.

  • @aznriot88 Yeah, except that I have played FF 6, FF 7, FF 8, FF 9, FF 10, FF 12 and even FF 13.

The thing that makes FF games better are the nostalgia feeling, not the gameplay. The story better sure, but I believe our modern gameplay has advanced in so many ways that you can't objectively say that a FF9 game is better than Skyrim.

  • @Bresker18 no, one of the many reasons why FFIX is better than Skyrim is because FFIX has better gameplay.

  • @twink3h IX has better anything than Skyrim, except for Graphics, but those don't even really matter. Skryim kinda blows if you ask me. But FFIX is one of my favorite games of all time.

  • @Ramez1799

True, true, I got bored with Skyrim pretty quickly but I still love FF IX, it´s on my top 5 of all times and I can play it all day without getting bored at all. And that´s without "freedom" and pretty graphics.

  • @Ramez1799 Agreed. I heard Skyrim is fun but FF9 is a classic and master piece. It's just amazing. Skyrim is never reach FF9's level.

  • final fantasy success key is mystique fantasy midi/ost.. those memory simply poop-out when we listening to those midi/ost..

  • This game rapes SKyrim every single way

  • @Irvinthebest lol why?

  • @azwi186 sorry, I meant to say this game is better than skyrim. I tired of people saying Skyrim is better than FF

  • @Irvinthebest Yeah, I get what you mean. Don't let skyrim take you to the knee :P

  • @Irvinthebest skyrim sucks.

  • Best game ever made. Simply perfect.

  • Zidane is the only character in the series that's known other characters from previous FF's. (Before Dissida) He makes mention of them throughout the game, Cloud being the first. Love this game more than the others simply because it ties all the games together. Well done!!!! I'm actually playing it again on my PSP

  • I like the japanese version, but I love this version

  • To be My Wedding's Song !!

  • i am a high schooler and i would so play this song on the bus and whoever says shit is gonna get fucking decked in the face becuase this song is the shit!!<3

  • I played this game knowing that there was a song at the end, but I never heard it. I REALLY hoped it would be a duet with a guy and a girl when I learned it was Zidane and Garnet's song but alas...

Anyway, I like this one but I REALLY WANT TO HEAR A DUET!!!

  • Nostalgia HARD!

  • @xXzjammanzXx Ditto

  • At 1:28 to 1:31, pay attention to Steiner. Is it me, or is he about to grab Zidane, but Vivi runs over and tackles Steiner?

  • @Isaac10best No. Vivi just rolls into him because the ship is rocking back and forth.

  • @ShelbyBeeSinger Ok, I thought it was one or the other, but for some reason i alywas thought he tackled em. But vivi doesn't have it in him to do that, not this early on atleast

  • i loved this game it needs to be remade for the ps3 this game was a big one for me it still is my favorite out of all final fantasy games

  • Comment removed

  • THIS GAME MUST NOT BE TOUCHED! It is Perfect the way it is! A sequel? Maybe, but make sure it is decent and worth the name of "Final Fantasy IX-2" or whatever it is LOL

  • This is the first one I have played and it IS my favorite. But I am one of the few who took the time to play all the other Final Fantasies. 7 is a very close tie. Cait Sith ruined it for me. SO FUCKING USELESS.

  • ff 9 , best freakin game EVER!!! and u dont have to buy it at the store, u can download it from the internet and play it whit your laptop

  • What I love about FFIX that other FF in the PS doesn't have is the genuine FF feeling. For all thos that played FFI-IV would understand (V story is so-so and VI is like a VII prototype is "some" way)

  • i own all the final fantasy games an still play them the one games that never get old .. an ill be playing them 10 years from now ... an proudly play them to

  • Comment removed

  • Reading everybody's comments, not only about this game, but how happy everyone sounds when mentioning something from there childhood really makes me happy. : D

  • @HeroBragma That's really ... disturbing..

  • >mfw when I'm getting my journalism degree and reviewing games for a living for a respectable company, and my life will essentially be like it is now, only with E3 percs

  • Girl : How did you survive

Man : I didn't have a choice. I had to live. I wanted to come home to you. So,... I sang your song

    Girl : Our song.

  • It feels good to play this game again as a hardened game veteran, ten years later. I've never kicked so much imperial ass. >__<

  • My first FF, i will always remember it, simply a masterpiece, The ending made cry so much.....

  • @TheFinal360 BRING MY BELOVED GARNET BACK TO ME!

  • @HeroBragma i do think so... i can't get happiness as in my childhood...

i have no idea about this adulthood. I just keep my chilhood alive by playin' old games (NES, arcade MAME, etc), watchin' old anime, listenin' anime songs... etc...^^

  • All of you are coming here and looking back now on your childhood. I'm coming here because I'm in my childhood, enjoying this game. I suppose someday I'll have to grow up, too. *sigh* Enjoy it while it lasts, eh?

  • @HeroBragma I wonder that myself, where did our childhood go? I remember playing this game for hours on end and enjoying it, I remember doing the same to Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII too, now it's bills, work, family, and then if there's time gaming. I have very fond memories of this game

  • I haven't played this in so many years yet I remember it perfectly. It still brings a tear to my eye.

  • l love this game

  • I think the reason why this game is underrated is because the older FF series particularly FF6 & 7 have raised the bar so high that it would be very difficult for newer titles to meet that standards.

Those who started playing FF during the PSOne era would definitely say that FF9 is the best series. But for those who started in the SNES era would think that while this is one of the most enjoyable FF series, it may not be the best.

  • cara eu adoro esse jogo

  • Oh man, I'm gonna cry.....this is my favorite game of all time and seeing all these clips and hearing this music....(tears up) oh great...thank you. I'm gonna start a new save file now :D!!!!

  • awesome game

  • We should tresure our own inner worlds for it is those worlds that we can retreat to wjen we feel lost in this great big world we call life, never lose yourself

  • @HeroBragma ! this song every time i hear it makes me cry and i remember when i was 12 - 13 years, this game is so so good ! it reminds me a good time and music playing this game is great, all its history, efects characters are special and there is no other way to say it =)

  • @HeroBragma holy crap man, thats the most depressing thing ive ever read, but i know how u feel.. and i dont know what to say other than i feel the exact same way

  • @mrjulianburton

yea, i feel that way too.

amazing how similar our lifes and feelings can be even with each one of us living in a different country, culture and so on.

hope to feel alive again someday.

  • this song is one of the greatest FF's theme song.

I will never forget having played FF9 with this song

  • The anticipation for FF7, FF8 and FF9 were huge back then. FF7 caused the biggest stir of any game I can remember. FF8 had a huge hype to see if it would top 7, but it was a let down. Square redeemed themselves with FF9, probably the greatest game of the series.

It was an exciting time for the FF series, and gaming in general back then. I would love new FF titles to still have that same influence and anticipation these days.

  • @FaithIsAnnoyed I could not agree more. I think FF6 is better than FF9, but their so damn close. They both focus on characters better than any other games in the series. And that is what the game is about: characters.

  • one of the greatest games/stories ever made/written.

  • @HeroBragma

    ;_;

  • Too bad no one ever thought of playing this when eiko and garnet came together in alexandria

  • @HeroBragma try to find happiness and motivation in all those perfect memories. Treasure them! Seek consolation and strength in the fact that there are millions of people out there with exactly the same bittersweet pain in their hearts. Live! Let these feeling be your shelter, not your enemy. :)

  • *casually sobs*
