Bought a gtx280, one year later. Dead. Got it sent off, "fixed" 2 weeks gameplay. Dead. Sending it back now again now. Another 3 months of waiting.
Not happy with nviida, and shall remind myself every time i buy a new GPU that nvidia, is a blatently bad choice. ATI for my all the way, I've never had a problem with them, they're cheaper and they're cost effective. ATI 5850 is my next little beast, if my GPU goes again.
the only proplem with its cards for example like the Gtx 480 its power hungry and its heat are too high you should upgrade the gpu cooler if you want the card to last long

Nvidia is dying due to their drivers: I have got Both nvidia and ati: well to install and uninstall nvidia you need half hour or more, to install ati I did it in 5 minutes, to unistall it 2 minutes, and ati cost a bit more but it really beat nvidia. Nvidia also cut her cost so now may be you should buy 2x gtx285 in SLI, rather than 1x HD 5770 they both are good but nvidia cost very less, so it's your choice(just saying)

I'm planning on building a new $3000 rig to play games with Nvidia's 3D Vision glasses and I'm gonna use 2 or 3 of Nvidia's fastest graphics cards in it. ATI doesn't have any 3D glasses for its cards. So I need Nvidia to stick around. Nvidia can't and won't die.

I've always like Nvidia more than ATI, simply because, in the past, Nvidia had more reliable products and better driver support. I think now that AMD took over ATI, this has changed. I'm really sad about what is happening to Nvidia. It is just not competing any longer.

I know the 590 is a very high end card - but it did have bad drivers. Not anymore, but it did.
The thing that makes the 6970X2 is good bargain is it's scaling in crossfire. If gives you the performance of an $800 card for less.
AMD drivers aren't the best, that's why I recommend Nvidia to people new to PC gaming.
AMD cards take work, I only recommend them to people who aren't new.

Bought a gtx280, one year later. Dead. Got it sent off, "fixed" 2 weeks gameplay. Dead. Sending it back now again now. Another 3 months of waiting.
Not happy with nviida, and shall remind myself every time i buy a new GPU that nvidia, is a blatently bad choice. ATI for my all the way, I've never had a problem with them, they're cheaper and they're cost effective. ATI 5850 is my next little beast, if my GPU goes again.

the only proplem with its cards for example like the Gtx 480 its power hungry and its heat are too high you should upgrade the gpu cooler if you want the card to last long

I always were a Nvidia customer since the day 1, but after this Nvidia the way its meant to be played game, and all their dirty plays, I've decided to try an ATI GPU.
Im happy with theATI I have and my next GPU will probably be an ATI.

The fact that there are far more varieties of gpus for Ati right now and the better cooling and pricing of ati videocards leaves little to be desired with Nvidia, and for some reason amazingly i hear that more steam users utilize nvidia over Ati, yet i think its many people who just are either set in their nvidia ways or have older systems that still work. Ati just makes a better product, at a better price, and performance is better..

Nvidia is dying due to their drivers: I have got Both nvidia and ati: well to install and uninstall nvidia you need half hour or more, to install ati I did it in 5 minutes, to unistall it 2 minutes, and ati cost a bit more but it really beat nvidia. Nvidia also cut her cost so now may be you should buy 2x gtx285 in SLI, rather than 1x HD 5770 they both are good but nvidia cost very less, so it's your choice(just saying)

I don't like all this talk about things dieing. I'm planning on building a new $3000 rig to play games with Nvidia's 3D Vision glasses and I'm gonna use 2 or 3 of Nvidia's fastest graphics cards in it. ATI doesn't have any 3D glasses for its cards. So I need Nvidia to stick around. Nvidia can't and won't die.

I've always like Nvidia more than ATI, simply because, in the past, Nvidia had more reliable products and better driver support. I think now that AMD took over ATI, this has changed. I'm really sad about what is happening to Nvidia. It is just not competing any longer.
