  • i bought sg 400 today i ve been testing it awhile its awesome but it has strings too far away from the frets do you know what i m saying ? is there any way to make strings closer because my father did it at his own guitar but hes not here so i need help plz :D

  • Somebody meant to hit the like button but accidentally hit the wrong button

  • The end riff was a great touch btw marty keep it up!

  • @cartmanrulez32 pinky strength, speed and dexterity all comes with time and practice. Using variations of G chords where you use your pinky instead of ring finger is a great technique for increasing strength. Speed like any other finger only comes with time and practice. Sometimes what I do is just go up and down the neck playing every note and alternate picking using a finger for each fret. When playing songs dont use variations that exclude the pinky the more you use it the better youl become!

  • I have the same guitar as you. '62 strat reissue. Except mine's blue [:

  • Hey Marty wassup!! How about this for some contemplation. Don't you agree that Lenny by Stevie Ray Vaughan was the greatest song to utilize the Major and Minor pentatonic scales.. That was my first song I learned and let me tell you Ive learned tons from that song.. What do you think?

  • @thelpfen fender strat

  • great teacher, Marty you are the best,

  • Hi Marty Great lesson. I just don't see what is different in a Major pentatonic and a Minor

    Pentatonic. A Minor pent. is A C D E G ----- C Major pent. is C D E G A Same notes just a change in the order. Help me understand. Thanks.

  • 5:28 I thought my iPhone rings xD

  • What a nice job this guy does ( -:

  • Marty where in CA are u located?? and how much do you charge?

  • is that a fender stratocaster usa?

  • even leaves a little jam track at the end

    sweeett

    thanks ms

  • thanx for this one, its reasonably easy once you get the hang of it but what happens when the chords change, does the lead player stay in the A or does the lead change pent's with every chord change ? hope you understand what i'm trying to ask...lol

  • @aliedforces Hey dude. You can still play A pentatonic, but you can also follow the chord changes - if rhythm goes to let's say D, you can play D pentatonic, but if the chord changes and you'll stay in D, then you're screwed ; p I hope that's what you asked about.

  • hey marty where did u get your loopin pedal? u rip btw thanks for the great lessons :) rock on

  • The Allman Brothers Band! hahaaaaa!

veeery good Marty... your veeery good.. :)

  • Marty, I love when you're showing the scale slowly then you go crazy with your own little solo over it...I would love to see some videos of you shredding some of the great solo's.......maybe you could cover comfortably numb second solo? I'd love to see you just rip apart some solo's.

    Shred on

  • What are your amp settings? I like that sound.

  • Sounds proper smart the start like.

  • 2:33

    That sounded nice.

    The bend.

  • John Mayer uses a lot of those major pentatonic sounds, especially on Gravity. Very nice as always, Marty!

  • just tha video i been lookin for

  • Thanks Marty! One of the best videos ever. Please show us some more videos like this, where we can jam with open chord backing with other beginner guitarists.

  • @theLazyCoder Agreed! It would be even nicer if he spent a minute or two explaining what he's doing for the backing track. There's a little more going on than just an open A chord

  • 69 likes... lol

  • Now only if Marty were finnish... I'd pay him.

  • 1:23 so I was just playing an A... yeah right. just playing...

  • you that thing if your unfit and you see people running and you instantly feel tired. I just got that

  • nice guitar!!. i wish i could afford that

  • Pure Prarie League - Aime = A MAJOR pentatonic scale

  • I love how you add a strum at the end of a song. The down up finish is awesome!

  • awesome lesson. you are the master..

  • So you use the 5 F# minor pentatonic boxes down the neck but resolve to the A's as the root notes in all 5 boxes to get that major sound?

  • 6:24

    O_O

  • Marty, any advice on how to increase pinky strength, speed, and dexterity? i'm already subscribed on your site :D

  • @cartmanrulez32 I don't know your skill level, but for me, focus was the key. Use chords that require your pinky like Bmin and Am add9 and focus on lifting your pinky and placing back down in the right spot. Try some Hammer on and offs. If you spend about five minutes a day just focusing on the pinky, you will have it in a couple of weeks. It's all muscle memory. Bends might be another story.

  • @cartmanrulez32 play a lot of stuff this involves the use of your pinky...play your open chords like E major/minor with your pinky and ring finger instead of your pointer and middle. This will also help your barre chords :D

  • @cartmanrulez32 if your penis is small, its easy

  • @cartmanrulez32 Please reply to this guy lmao ^^

  • @cartmanrulez32 Use it

  • @cartmanrulez32 practice

  • @cartmanrulez32 what really helped my is the

a minor pentatonic, chromatic, and the crazy train riff lol, it reeeally helps i promise

  • @cartmanrulez32 ahmm i just dont get it,,,im a beginner.. what is the use of pentatonic scales???

  • @TheMac425 to use to construct guitar solos. theyre simplified versions of full scales with the two 'weakest' tones taken out. minor sounds bluesy and is often called the blues scale if you add a note. used by alot of players, eric clapton just to name one. the major pentatonic sounds happy and sunny, its often used by dicky betts and duanne allman of the allman brothers band

  • @cartmanrulez32 hammer on and pulls, trills. I do it everyday for 15 minutes and it works WONDERS. I noticed a huge difference in my speed in just a week. You have to be consistent though, maintaining technique is about consistency not for hours once a week

  • marty i got a questions how long did you have lesson until you were on your on like you new how to make songs and firgure out things by yourself ?and how long did you practice?

  • Marty's intense...

  • marty i got a questions how long did you have lesson until you were on your on like you new how to make songs and firgure out things by yourself ?and how long did you practice?

  • hey should you learn all the shapes of minors or say dorian or just one before you move on

  • THANK YOU! I NEED MAJOR LICKS

  • @iamjoseph951 : Corrosponding Majors and minors. Eg: C major & A minor. OR D major & B minor. G Major, E minor, Etc. Play the major and minor scales you know and as long as it with both a Major and it's corrosponding minor, the lead you solo will sound great! Once you have the scales down right, start adding bends and all that fancy hammer on and offs. And keep trying to walk the scales up and down the fretboard if you know what i mean.

  • lol just 245 views :(
