  • I like how the last minute or so they do the round robin single bars each, Tom kinda steals the show there

  • Bun E. stops smoking at 4:38.

  • Lead guitar reminds me of Travis Barker he has this up style. Great song.

  • I always thought Rick Neilson and Bun-E-Carlos were underestimated. in fact all those guys were and are f---ing good.

  • LOVE this band...very few bands sound as good live as they do on recordings but Robin can sing both fantastically...even at 58 he STILL sounds amazing...not to mention he looks amazing as well ;)

  • chepoa tricj=k was a fav of miune- an precurser to nirvanah if you ask me- didn't quiet gewt there but they competed with some top notch acts - zep and others - i mean- not too shabby

  • Rick is up there with my favorite guitarist Angus Young, I love a guitarist that runs around on stage and acts like a lunatic, it's pure rock n' roll.

  • @Presidentjh I agree! i think Rcik was one of the most underated of that time. You had Eddie Van Halen, Page, Clapton, Angus, the guy that started with Ozzy, etc. He was just as good as the best. I just saw them at a county fair like two years ago and they did this just as good. I don't care if they are like 65 now!

  • They seem to be channelling The Ballad Of John And Yoko simultaneously, but when they fall into the hook, that is just righteous

    or heavy

    or something...

    :)

  • best cheat trick 4ever ya

  • Rick is so damn unique I Love his aNTICS ON STAGE

  • toms smile is so cute!

  • Best Break Up Song, EVER (:

  • First song I learned on bass, blues progression rocks!

  • First time I heard this was as I laid down to sleep after Lights Out in Navy Boot Camp July 1979. Someone, obviously not a recruit, was playing it on a Mono Aural in the courtyard below. I can never forget it.

  • i apologize for my fellow germans in the audience who did not applaud after the song. (this is from a german music tv show)

  • that guy on the guitar is fucking awesome

  • Bun E. Carlos, Rick Nielsen, Robin Zander, and Tom Peterson ----- they better be inducted in the rock hall soon!

  • I am just back from a nice party... And before sleep I have to listen it, because they are indescribable.... In europe they have not so much fan, but I am one of them! This group is a legend! Love it!

  • Cheap trick is the pride of the fox river valley in illinois

  • Happy memories of seeing them playy St Andrews Uni moons ago with Rick Neilsen batting loads of plectra into the audience.

  • Great music from "Back In the Day". I really feel sorry for kids today..glad i was born to hear this great music, when some thing new was coming out all the time.

  • Tough crowd

  • wowe wild time music great for exercising too now that I am uh in my 40's what ta hang you finally get your head together and your ass falls apart, lol!

  • anyone else notice that this has the exact same bass line as The Ballad of John and Yoko? o_O

  • Tom's bass is just leveling cinder blocks...

  • One of the best damn bands ever!

  • @milwroad261 im 9 and even i know about them

  • Can you imagine going to a club and seeing so much talent in one band? I would be speechless too.

  • I like how Bun E. Carlos ALWAYS has a cigarette while playing

  • Yup, best live performance that audience will ever see. May they never see anything better for giving CT such a lousy reception. #$*%*(@*)!

  • man, when Live at Budokan came out everybody was into it. Ain't That A Shame just ROCKED. Robin Zander is great singer. I saw them open for KISS during the Love Gun tour.

  • Hey, Rick Neilson can be found at his pizza place in Chi Town. Great food great drink, and you never know, he might just show up and do a few.

  • Wow, that was a great performance. They're all so talented. And I love how nonchalant Bun E. is, especially during the intro.

  • great music in the 70's ny cheat trick

  • Cheap Trick.....owns whatever song they perform....100%

  • Coowallsky, wow, you were gentle in your reply to me for the ugly things I said to you; in man talk that means you win; I'm sorry I went off on you, you didn't deserve such viciousness, and I apologize. I'm not fucking with you, I really mean my apology, and I hope you forgive me.

  • And WDR is a German public television station

  • Is it me, or did Donkey Kong steal the bass line from this song?

  • yoko wrote eagle screams to feed their children, not music

  • I can not imagine my youth without CHEAP TRICK!

  • I learned satch's part,I know it all now

  • wanna know how i know?...I can play everything except satch

  • satch makes this special

  • Screw Lady Gaga!! This is music!!!

  • good as the beatles they wrote some great pop songs and awesome live .its great rock and roll .

  • why he smoke the drummer

  • @veryshywoman Because he likes to smoke!

  • Fats

  • For those who dont know this is John Lennons song

  • @BeatleJohnGeorge haha way off

  • @BeatleJohnGeorge i think you'll find that Fats Domino wrote and recorded this in the mid 1950s.

  • @BeatleJohnGeorge dude really um ya you are so right but yoko ono co wrote it and fats domino took credit...that's what happend

  • I saw them in Miami in about 1979.

  • Ain't that a shame that they are not in the R &R Hall of fame.

  • BUN E IS A DRUMMING GOD

  • CHEAP TRICK---"AIN'T THAT A SHAME"

  • CHEAP TRICK FOR PRES...LOL

  • Bun E. F'n ROCKS!!!!

  • Bun E. F'n ROCKS!!!!

  • i was in marine corps boot camp in San Diego in august 1984 when we were taken to see cheap trick/pablo cruise outdoor concert nearby. We weren't allowed to clap, smile or stand up. I wan'ted to give em a standing ovation. but i was already going through 12 weeks of "ass whuppin" Didn't want to make it any worse..

  • WORLDS GREATEST GARAGE BAND!!!! I love Cheap Trick!!!

  • Absolutely great band. Mucho excellent guitar And vocals. Drums too, Bunny.

  • I got a call from Rick because I said he looks like Huntz Hall

  • sach was a Bowery Boys character from 40's movies with Humphrey Bogart

  • sach is a showman,classic

  • i like the guitarist makes it look so easy

  • @DannyV358 well it's sort of an easy song

  • Coowallsky; yeah, sorry it was found stuck so far up your mom's ass, then your wife's; we all just got so fucking hot, turned on, and carried away, you boring, flaccid, cuckold pussy cunt excuse of a man!

  • @crazyxmarine Save your breath for your inflatable date.

  • that's rick Nielson on guitar, right?,he knows how to work it

  • Lol Forgotten all about this Band...

    Isn't That a Shame!....

    Great!..:-)

  • themuzicmatters - Dipshit. Cheap Trick is touring major sold out venues these days (30k plus people). Think before opening your ignorant trap.

  • It's almost as if they were making fun of themselves, but they were actually pretty damn good.

  • @candie48 They never take themselves too seriously..hence the fact that they've put out 30 records, have sold millions of records and been around for 36 years and still tour...THIS is what Rock'N'Roll is all about..."consistency"

    Cheap Trick

    Cheap Trick

  • scoobydoo: go see Cheap Trick? what, your time machine just started fizzing and shooting flames and plasma bolts and you bailed the fuck out and it blew up and you were back stuck in mom's leaky rat-infested basement? Ain't the 80s no more; seeing Cheap Trick means going to an Indian Casino or some other bullshit crummy venue with a laser show; sober up dude, and give Muse or the Killers a try!

  • @crazyxmarine Listen mate, just because a group has been around 35 plus years, does NOT make them irrelevant, quite the opposite in fact. Cheap Trick played and still play to sell out venues/stadiums all over the world, they are an international act and have been just inducted into the Hall of fame. Before you write me off to, can I just say i like the Killers and muse too, but unlike you I have kept an open mind and an open ear to music through the ages, lighten up yourself.

  • @wildenfree1 u are kucking right

  • @Simon4642 Thank you ..I am " Kucking right ..lol " ;-)

  • When the Killers and the Muse have over 15 CDs and over 25 yrs of hitting longevity in the business then come back and make a case. Cheap Trick has an incredible category of music and the only way to truly appreciate them is to get a retrospective set of their CDs. Sure, they've had some duds, but they've also had some smokin' hits and perhaps still the greatest live album ever.

  • @kaloncar Absoloutley agree ;-)

  • @wildenfree1 they have NOT been inducted into the Hall of Fame...they should be...but unfortunately have yet to be

  • @JackieJL11 I stand corrected - let's hope they do

  • @crazyxmarine The proctologist called. He found your head.

  • @Coowallsky was it stuck up his arse?

  • Robin Zander = Sandra Locke as a man! LOL Maybe he's her brother?

  • People forget about Neilson as a guitarist in the various polls.. . . he's great, stood about four feet from him in Seattle during In Color night.

  • Yes, definately, it's my fault. However I would never say "Good bye" to any of them.

  • what a classic rock and roll band. one of the best without a doubt

  • Separated at birth: Bun E Carlos and Dan Akroyd?

  • The original song... might be close to actually being a million times better. I appreciate their tribute, it's very kind of them, but this is aweful.

  • @Minacious

it's not quite awful, but it's close... the rhythm and blues style metal guitar is almost worth it, but the intro and vocals kind of kill it.

  • donna kekic in butte, montana sucks dick

  • Bun E Carlos : BK manager or bank clerk, whatever, the Dude rules.

  • Pure awesomeness. Love it.

  • Best drum intro in rock n roll.

  • @Heister1102

Honkey Tonk women is pretty good, too.

  • pop, punk...wow! I miss my hair!

  • I love how only 3 motherfuckers clapped after that. Seriously they melted faces that audience should stand up and cheer cause that's the best thing they'll ever see live.

  • WILL COMING BACK?

  • damn skippy I saw them live the sounded like angels

  • your the one to blame, damn aint that the truth......

  • One of the best rock bands ever. Period. These guys were one of my "rock idol" groups growing up.

  • put the fat man on.please

  • Clearly, a "Ying and Yang" type of band. They ALL have their own style and that's what makes them great. So diverse, Robin looks like the classic rock front man. Rick, well, he's just out there. Bun, like one post read, looks like a Manager at Burger King. But, damn, can he crank on the drums. Tom, classic bass guitarist. All together, simply awesome...

  • tiny, unworthy audience. this made my day. wherever you lads are, keep it up.

  • that guitarist is AWESOME

  • GReat tune/ Makes we wanna learn how to play kickass drums.

  • Manager at Burger King...LMFAO!

  • cheap trick wooooooooooooooo genial

  • Man i wish I could have caught these guys billing with Bon era ACDC .

  • totally agree scoobystu82 :)

  • The whole band is great with a classic an they make a great rhythm but the guitarist over does it. Clam the fuck down!!! what are? you mostly over passed being more conceded as Angus young!!! and i hate that F'er

  • Thanks to Cheap Trick for showing them how it's done. The Members and still the Best are :

    Robin Zander

    Tom Petersson

    Rick Nielson

    Bun E. Carlos

  • So, what's the year on this video?

  • vintage bunn e.

  • lovin-it-woo-hoo

  • excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • oh the drummers smoking while playing how nice

  • @KurdtKobain09 , The Drummer is Dr. Bun E. Carlos and he has a P.H.D in drumming. Smoking Was his signature trademark, and he was actually left handed but he used to switch it up. He's fucking good!

  • @kougarhunter And he looks like my accountant :)

  • Tom Peterson is the coolest bass player since Sir Paul, Cheap trick kicks ass

  • I TOTALLY AGREE

  • It's BUN!! :)

  • This is the 70's im sure...if not i'll correct myself.

  • seen a lot of bands from the 80's to 2010, still one of the best drummers i saw play live.

  • Prime time

  • Robin Zander's voice is awesome, man. Sings right on key. No vox correctors in the 80's!

  • WOOT!!! HELL YEAH ALWAYS!!! YOU KNOW WISCONSIN LOVES YOU!!! xoxoxoxo

  • crazy hey ..the guitar (Rick N) player could have easily gone the Bohemian rock 'god' stuff and pulled it off with aplomb 'cos he got the chops and the style. CT rocked me in '78 with Dream Police , and they still do !

  • Rick still mad as a box of frogs?

    Hope so.

  • Extraordinary performance by Rick, of course, and Ben,naturally. Robin was great as well. Where are they now?

  • I just adore Cheap Trick! I have seen them several times in concert. One of my top ten favorite bands of all time!

  • this song is definately amazing...theyre not my favorite band but some of their music is great, the drum intro is the best

well mostly i say this cuz i have a favor to ask of you music lovers..i made a Drum Video countdown of great drum songs in rock n roll and i need feedback and comments!! thx peace.#

  • well, don't forget Golden Ear ring Radar Love, and check out how Edgar Winter plays multiple instruments including the drums where his drummer lays down A beat and Edgar matches it perfectly in the Midnight special clip of "Frankenstien"

  • Remembering the good old days at Sammy's Mwah!!!

  • Remeber the good days at Sammy's.. Mwah!!

  • We're going to see Cheap Trick tonight at the Jefferson Theater in Charlottesville, VA!

  • ahhh love the bass in this song

  • the guy in red reminds me of the leadsinger of the residents

  • this is what Rock & Roll is all about...No anger, no Bullshit, just have fun! Every band out there today should go see Cheap Trick and just lighten the fuck up

  • @scoobystu82 true, but anger helps a lot sometimes!

  • @scoobystu82

no anger??? WTF dude, part of rock&roll is show anger & fun at the same time.

  • @scoobystu82

    You sir, are completely right!

  • @scoobystu82 .....and more bands will find a lot of fantastic songs to cover if they listen to Fats Domino. In the 50´ he had 26 millionselgers, and he never sold less than half million of his singels. Its a goldmine waiting....

  • @scoobystu82 absoloutely..you nailed it.

  • @scoobystu82 Absoloutley..Lighten the fuck up!...that goes for some of the negative comments on here too, in the words of The Stones - " It's only Rock N Roll bit I like it !"

  • @scoobystu82 You said what I have been trying to say for years. You the nail right on the f-ing head. Thanks!

  • never trust a beatltle

  • @woodskier what's a beatltle? and why not trust one?

  • These guys are great in person, seen them up in Kelowna BC late 06.....

What an awesome show, rock on CT, hope your out this way again soon.

    Thanks for the guitar pics.....

    Happy New Year :O)

  • Rick is an EXCELLENT musician, Robin Zander will always be one of the best lead vocals. Cudos to Ben for the drums!!!!

  • yo po Kids

  • There's momma's may dress them funny, but damn can they ROCK!

  • what you electric?....why bother withall that.. go// frellesss too

  • the guy with the moustache looks so out of place but he has the feeling lol

  • Not ragging on you, but that's part of the act, part of "the look:" Two cool guys and two weird/nerdy guys. AC/DC does the same basic thing.

  • Yikes!

Saw a tour with these and Rundgren...him and Neilson JAMMED together!!!

  • i didnt come to appreciate this band until they were well into their career but man what a kick ass rock and roll band!

  • The chord that Rick hits at 1:04 and then the next one at 1:12 is so complex and cool. Two of the meanest chords on the electric I have ever heard.

  • Rick does a great impersonation of Huntz Hall of the Bowery Boys. Looks and acts just like him.

  • Rick looks like Pee Wee Herman on guitar!

  • Bun E. carlos kicks ass!

  • the one and only

  • pat cash

  • do you guys remember an Aussie tennis player from the 80s who won Wimbledon ?? thought not haha..but anyway he always wore chequered arm / head sweat bands cos he luved that CT guitarist.(who happens to be 1 freakin funny dude AND can play !!)

  • Rick cracks me up w/ "wroten."

  • Now that's a rock band.

  • Sorry eclipsehorses4461, I tend to be rude sometimes.

  • I saw them at the Rockford Armory in 1977

  • eclipsehorses4461, that would make you -20 yrs old according to your profile age shitsnap.

  • That was my mom.. She gets on my acount!

  • damn that was fun to watch!!
