@louistheonion23 For civilians, it shows how to use a carbine in a dire situation when needed such as a home invasion. Owning and knowing how to shoot a carbine doesn't mean you know how to efficiently use that said carbine to it's fullest.
@louistheonion23 I can buy all the gear the navy seals use and still get my ass kicked, training how to properly and effectively use your firearm makes you a asset instead of a liability.
How many of these folks are just spending money to be tac-ti-cool? Watch a Cowboy three-gun shoot, and let me know what you think!
I shot these stinking pieces of plastic in Thailand, 1971-1974! Can you get one for $400? I doubt it! All that semi-auto fire, when you only ONE to be in the right spot! I make no apologies for calling it plasticcrap. Gabe Suarez teaches 'tactical lever action', just like these guys. Tell me a .357JHP won't change your day!
@SFsc616171 lever guns suck for firing from a vehicle. There is no way to attach a muzzle device to mask the flash. If the shooter gets an injured arm there is no way to work the action on a lever gun. Shoving shells in there one at a time is fine on a nice sunny range where you're not getting shot at. It sucks if there is someone inside of a hundred yards cutting lose with an AK. Being simplistic to the point of being a simpleton is what led to the "tactical levergun" mentality. It is not 1878.
@Friedstuffsable I can fire two lever action shotguns at once with one hand each on CoD, just like Arnold Schwarzenegger can. It's super tactical you don't know what you're talking about. I'm a pro, bro.
@SFsc616171 this is more practical for rapid engagement, more versatile, and from a less serious perspective it's more fun for a lot of us. it costs a bit more but who cares? better gun costs better money.
@SFsc616171 Last time I checked your most important asset in a life or death situation is "EFFICIENCY." Every millisecond counts under a stressful situation when people are shooting back at you. Why would you want to go back to an 19 century gun when people with common sense would want to use the most latest thing at their disposal to survive? .357 maybe fun to shoot, but ask yourself is that really something you want to use in a stressful situation when your hands start to shake?
The answer to any question that revolves around "Why would a civilian ever want to know this?" or "What does a civilian need a carbine for?" is consistently: because we have the freedom to do so. Some people take these courses because they're looking for a method of self improvement, others for home defense, and others simply because they think it's fun. All of these and more are perfectly valid reasons for owning and learning how to use a carbine.
@ kevinxbox111 - Civilian who takes this kind of training might be on a path of joining military or law enforcement, so having a good training is beneficial. BTW, bot military and LE training suck big hairy balls except maybe if you are in the Seals or SWAT team. Even these guys take Magpul training courses to better their skills. Ever heard of "You never stop learning!"???
so who are these videos for? civillians? cause if your swat or military (spec ops) then youll learn what you need to. why would a civillian ever need to know this stuff? Not like any civillian is ever gonna need to use an AR-15 in a tactical situation.
@kevinxbox111 need, as a human beign im pretty sure we dont always do thing that we really need, i would do it just beocuse i like gun and just like some one who likes cars i want to use them eficiently, in the other hand, who knows, maybe those skill could be of any use some day.
@davnorrdavnorr They use the M4 (military version of AR-15) and the Bushmaster ACR. There could be a few others that I missed, but those were the only ones I could identify.
@tehsuperepicpwnzor They are using civilian legal M4's, not all M4's are military, M4 is just a variant or type of AR15. If they were military they would be shooting full auto or 3 rounds burst, but the rifles they are using in this video are semi-auto only.
What color are magpul parts in Chris Costa's rifle? That color looks good to me. I have noticed that colors look very different in different videos and photos. I Finland, it is difficult to find Magpul stuff from shops to see colors in real life.
Does anybody have a theory on how to dynamically pull a pin on a grenade while still leaving your hand on fire control on a carbine? I was thinking hold the grenade with your reaction hand and pull the pin with your thumb while still maintaining a good grip on the carbines fire control. Anybody agree?
I already own this DVD for a while, but until now I just had a Steyr AUG. I´m going to get myself an AR15 M5 soon, so now this DVD starts to become really interesting.
@rangerofgondor8 Along with That I don't like Real Guns anyways. But Defineing youself to your own Death I think I would have to Reconsider my Thoughts about guns.
@HurtsWhenYouLaugh I believe that it's one of the limited run Magpul billet lowers that were/are occasionally released with limited production runs from companies like Noveske, always as rifles, never stripped. If you're looking for an integrated ambi bolt release lower, I would recommend KAC, POF, Spikes, or Mega. Or get a BAD lever. Actually, just do that.
@1:53...its not a pmag. It is a ready mag. The pmag is just a magazine. The pmag coupler allow one to put two mags together. The ready mag is an accessory that bolts...or connects to the reciever of the ar15. You can then stick a mag into the ready mag device. So the ready mag holds one mag, and your ar holds the other mag. This is very different that the pmag with a mag coupler where both mags are supported by the ar magwell.
@colgategabriel I'm 90% sure the model Travis uses is a Blue Force Gear Redi-Mod for $189.99. It's not the one used by redi-mag(dot)com. I prefer Travis' version because it's lighter weight. It's definitely not called a magazine clamp or coupler.
@BOOM55kaytown Unfortunately it does not. I emailed them asking about one, never got a response. I think I'm far from the only one that has. I don't yet have a 6.8mm upper, but I've been thinking about buying Barrett 6.8mm magazines for when I eventually get one. I really, really wish there was a 6.8 PMAG available. They're by far my favorite magazines.
Is there going to be an updated volume 1 DVD set made? I watched this tonight and noticed that some things you teach now have changed. Some dramatically, like the way your hole your reaction hand on the gun, now way forward with the arm out to create a triangle, but in the video it's still tucked in (the way I used to run).
@MrWhiskeyShits It's actually the most effective way to engage targets quickly within 75 meters. I don't use my optic to engage anything unless it's outside 75 meters. I'm pretty sure Chris Costa and Travis Haley would outshoot you without even exerting themselves.
@kevinseanob One is a PEQ15 the other is a PEQ4. Somewhat hard to find if you're not law enforcement or military personnel. Plus if you don't have night vision capability they're useless for you. Oh yeah, let's not forget roughly $4,000-$6,000 laying around, burning a hole in your pocket.
A Nation without Gun's is a Slave Nation, and it is amasing how people love to be slaves and Brainwashed and Poisened from Food and air and water.....!!!?
I wish this stuff was legal here. I'd get a carbine right away. But noooo, carbine eeeebil. Heck, even pump action shotties are friggin' OUTLAWED here. Why? Because in the 80s ONE nutjob used one to rob a few banks. That's why. Makes sense, eh? I wonder when we'll ban cars, because those kill thousands more than legal handguns in my country every year.
This is kind of telling me all types of people are training just in case the shit hits the fan in this country, and our country collapses, civil disobediants, lawlessness, anarche. It's kind of scary.I bought an arsenol of weapons, and stock piled on ammo since Obama took office.Chances are it will never happen,but........you never know. It's hard to believe that all this higher level of training is just for burglars, car jackers, and rogue nutjobs opening up with an AK in a mall somewheres.Anyone ?
@demmylowther There is the same philosophy with the training as there is with the guns themselves. "It's better to have it and not need it, then to need it and not have it." The only thing a well armed and well trained citizenry is going to hurt is bad guys.
Just a quick question. I own an ar-15, 6.8 SPC. I know the 5.56 is lighter but, how is it i see these guys shoot, and the recoil effect is that of a .22, or a bb gun. I kinda get its experience and technique, but how much of both, and methods.
Okay, I'm sorry... ZOMBIES?... I hate to sound judgmental, but what you have to understand that I dont associate these tactics with the zombie apocalypse- I associate it with staying alive, and being able to progress efficiently to gain control of a situation and kill the enemy in his home field... This is serious stuff...
@BattleRatProductions well in america.. most people own ar type variant guns, yet i do see your point of why they should have a training program for the most popular gun in the world.. the ak
@CheytacOps They should, because the DVD's aren't sold in US only. I live in Finland and i've this far practiced a lot of their dynamic handgun techniques on range.
@BattleRatProductions said "Sad they only teach this stuff for AR, not for example Kalashnikov variants."
- Actually you can fire the rifle of your choice in a Magpul class. It's just that most people do shoot an AR variant as most of the people in this video were shown with an AR. But AKs are welcome in Magpul along with other rifle types as well..
Dude the Army and especially the Marines are way beyond in personal weapon tactics. Back in 2003 Marine infantry basically learned to shoot and that was it. Still holding their breath and using a weaver stance from the 1880's. That got a lot of people hurt and killed. The Army a lot farther ahead. Since 2003 the govt. has been forced to look at more forward thinkers, special forces, SWAT team style training and tactics on the civilian market for modern training. Govt. fails as usual.
@Warpath2198 basic trained marines are trained to just shoot yes, but when i was at SOI they taught a whole lot more than just shooting basics like holding your breath. they spent 2 weeks on urban warfare. and yes this was back in 2003. if you were in the marines you must have had some shit instructors.
@Warpath2198 I agree with almost everything you wrote except about the Weaver Stance being from the 1880's. The Weaver Stance was named after LA County Deputy Jack Weaver in the 50's.
The Weaver stance is squared shoulders, feet spread facing the target. I think you are thinking of the old " one hand on the hip, turned sideways" stance that was from when people used to duel, haha ( yes, they taught me that way in the Army!). Law Enf. trained me better, but the military is improving greatly.
@TrueBlueJMS Actually, the Weaver isn't squared at all really. It is when you are bladed to the target, with the bent elbows "push/pull" method. Modern Isosceles is the squared, non bladed stance.
@JPHOperator Yes it is. It is the firing position that occurs from the "interview stance" in law enforcement. Your body is squared to the target so that your vest can absorb rounds rather than your exposed sides.
@TrueBlueJMS Look at any combat training for a handgun, the Weaver stance is a bladed stance, and the isosceles is the squared stance. Check anywhere online or any handgun training manual.
Zombie Apocalypse FTW! Seriously though, all gun users want a war on the home front so they can kill people without joining the military. They either didn't qualify or they are just too scared of the training and real combat.
@soxfan500 LOL kid, why dont you go play your playstation, and let the mature people converse on videos like this. didnt your mommy get angry at you last time she caught you, not only on the internet unsupervised, but watching a violent video game clip????
@airsoft3321 Civilains need it to. In the words of Chris, are you a liability or are you an asset? If your life, the lives of your loved ones, or the people around you are in danger will you just sit and do nothing or protect them / you?

- Actually you can fire the rifle of your choice in a Magpul class. It's just that most people do shoot an AR variant as most of the people in this video were shown with an AR. But AKs are welcome in Magpul along with other rifle types as well..

- The instruction is slower and in depth, but many of the fire drills are fast paced.

they dont teach you this stuff in the army, at least, as of 2007.
rommelAOE 1 year ago
that depends on what unit you are in. in my unit, we use much of the same type of techniques.
h0lm1 1 year ago
@h0lm1
Warpath2198 1 year ago
@Warpath2198 basic trained marines are trained to just shoot yes, but when i was at SOI they taught a whole lot more than just shooting basics like holding your breath. they spent 2 weeks on urban warfare. and yes this was back in 2003. if you were in the marines you must have had some shit instructors.
joeratti 1 year ago
@Warpath2198 I agree with almost everything you wrote except about the Weaver Stance being from the 1880's. The Weaver Stance was named after LA County Deputy Jack Weaver in the 50's.
The Weaver stance is squared shoulders, feet spread facing the target. I think you are thinking of the old " one hand on the hip, turned sideways" stance that was from when people used to duel, haha ( yes, they taught me that way in the Army!). Law Enf. trained me better, but the military is improving greatly.
TrueBlueJMS 1 year ago
@TrueBlueJMS Actually, the Weaver isn't squared at all really. It is when you are bladed to the target, with the bent elbows "push/pull" method. Modern Isosceles is the squared, non bladed stance.
JPHOperator 1 year ago
@JPHOperator Yes it is. It is the firing position that occurs from the "interview stance" in law enforcement. Your body is squared to the target so that your vest can absorb rounds rather than your exposed sides.
TrueBlueJMS 1 year ago
@TrueBlueJMS Look at any combat training for a handgun, the Weaver stance is a bladed stance, and the isosceles is the squared stance. Check anywhere online or any handgun training manual.

Zombie Apocalypse FTW! Seriously though, all gun users want a war on the home front so they can kill people without joining the military. They either didn't qualify or they are just too scared of the training and real combat.
